TRACE DESIGNS ON COOKIES WITHOUT A PROJECTOR

  • When I first started making cookies, I didn't know that people used a projector to trace images or pipe designs on cookies. I just thought they were naturally good a that! I on the other hand wasn't very good and free handing designs made my cookies look all different, off centred and not consistent. Then I started to get more difficult orders and I thought to myself what's a way I can trace an image on my cookie (because I didn't want to purchase a projector yet)... low and behold I came across this tip! Using the reflection of a glass or clear plastic frame, you can easily draw whatever you need on a cookie with edible marker.
Once I learnt this, I wasn't nervous to take on more difficult orders where they wanted writing or certain specific designs! This is a great way, using things you most likely already have a at home to get those designs drawn onto your cookie. Then all you have to do is pipe over them and you're all done!
For the edible marker I use, see the link to my amazon shop here (these are affiliate links I may make a small commission off of purchases at no extra cost to you), which helps support my business:

Wow, so clever. I've been trying to figure out a way to do this without spending the money on special equipment. I'm throwing my Dad a surprise birthday party and sugar cookies are his favorite. Definitely going to practice this technique. Thank you. Have a blessed day.🙂👍

It works really well! I didn't get a projector until I was regularly taking orders for a while, but I wouldn't have gotten one if I just if I just did them for fun!

    It's so useful.
I already built a projector with this same logic this weekend, but this technique would work really well for training
