  • I thought it would be fun to do a little tour of my cookie supplies. I know when I started I thought I needed ever tool under the sun to be able to make better cookies, but really it's learning to use the tools you have. I started out with the bare minimum, some good colours, a few piping bags and tips and gave it my best. From there, I learnt what supplies I though would really help me elevate my skill and make my life easier. I still think for doing cookies for so many years, I don't have that many things, I try to keep it simple and buy what I think I'll use most and is most cost effective as well.
    Hope you enjoy the video and always know, you can start with just a few basics and still make amazing, beautiful cookies.

    Wow 😮 that’s a lot of stuff! Just wait until you’re getting into your twilight years & downsizing a home happens. Those who clear out will be 🤬 under their breath. But these gadgets DO look like fun 🤩

    Thank you for sharing your cookie goodies with us! I feel a tad bit embarrassed because my cookie cutter collection has exploded over the last year 🙈

      It's so hard not to buy them all!! I had to stop myself because I was buying ones and never using them 🤣. And now that I don't sell cookies anymore I really try to use what I have!

      Naboe Grainger, I am right there beside you! Not only my cutters… but my piping bags, a mini turntable for cookies, stencils galore and so on🤦🏼‍♀️ Not to mention, my birthday was yesterday and my husband got me a Pico cookie projector! I have one of those small countertop ovens (including the large Wolf oven that was already in my house before I bought it) that have different functions, including dehydrate. I don’t know about you but I am not looking to start a cookie business. At this point, maybe I should🤣🤣🤣

      Happy Birthday!! And nothing wrong with having a few gadgets for your cookies 🤣 don't worry I'm sure many of us are in the same boat as you!!

    I switched from americolor to chefmaster and never looked back!! So pigmented and you don’t need much color. Also less expensive.

      I have a hard time finding Americolor anywhere lately so I will definitely be buying Chefmaster when I need more, so that's really good to know!!

    I’ve done cakes most my life…starting at 16 yrs old. …just now getting started with cookies at 65. I enjoy your informative videos, thank you. I also wanted to suggest if you air brush late at night (been there, done it) putting a small towel under the compressor helps mottle the noise a little.

      How fun that you're getting into cookies! And thank you for the tip, that's super helpful especially when my little ones are in bed 🥰🥰

    This is a great show and tell! When I was first getting into decorating cakes and cookies I went nuts buying sprinkles. I regret that I bought so much because a lot of the mixes contain dragees, which are for decoration purposes only😬 I sat down a few months ago and sorted through all of my bottles and bags and picked out every single one! I swear it took me at least a couple of hours. As gorgeous as those are, I am just going to stick to sanding sugar, non pareils and jimmies.

      Oh I know the feeling! It's hard not to go overboard with all the cool and perry things, especially sprinkles!!! The mixes are beautiful! And amazing that you picked through them all, I don't think I'd have the patience for that 🙈 but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do 😁

    My cookie cutter collection has gotten out of control lol. Some people collect shoes and or purses, I collect cookie cutters 😉

      Hahhaa yes, I was buying them like crazy at one point but then had to tell myself there's no more room. And I realized some I would barely use, so now I try to use what I have if I can! But I still browse just in case 🤣

    I too have plenty of cookie cutters, including the 101 set you have. I am sure you have used your cookie cutters much more than me.

    • @LittleCookieCo
      @LittleCookieCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I feel like I use the same cutters for most fo the cookies, others have never been used at all 😬😄

    Hi! I'm brand new to cookie decorating but have learned so much already watching all of your videos. I do have a question. If you use a Wilton cutter to cut your cookie shape, how do you know how to decorate it? Just say you used a unicorn cutter, what are you using on your projector to help decorate the cookie? Thanks again for all of the tutorials!

    Hello, I'm from France and I love your channel!
    I have a small question 😊 do you think there is a difference in the rendering of the frosting that meringue powder or powdered or fresh egg whites are used? Thank you for your reply

    • @LittleCookieCo
      @LittleCookieCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bonjour!! I prefer meringue powder only because here egg whites are not always safe to eat raw. But I know other countries they are. I don't think there is much difference other than convenience. So you can do whichever you'd like, however I'd suggest looking for a recipe specifically with egg whites 😊

    • @saralumia8865
      @saralumia8865 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LittleCookieCo Thank you very much for your answer, in France meringue powder is not at all easy to find and I cannot order it from another country because unfortunately there are restrictions concerning products containing "eggs" 😭.
      I will therefore test with powdered egg white hoping to have as beautiful a result as your icing 🥰

    If I didn’t want to use corn syrup on your royal icing recipe what healthy alternative could I substitute it with to get the same outcome?

    • @LittleCookieCo
      @LittleCookieCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could also leave it out! True royal icing doens that's corn syrup it will dry a little harder and a touch less shine but I've used it without before without any issues!
