How Quickly Can I Learn A New Track | TeamSport Coventry Go Karting

- A visit on the 14th January 2023, being the first time I've visited this track, I wanted to get up to speed as quickly as possible. Coventry is quite a technical track, and our session was almost full, so I was fighting traffic too!
I'd set a target of a 43 second lap for this first session, and a 42 second lap on the second session - can I get there?

great track, I'm 40.21 around there (best time), it took me a lot of practice (about 30 bookings). If you go for a straight line over the finish line its worth an extra 0.3 to 0.4 seconds but it compromises your next lap by about 1.5 seconds ... so be selective. good luck, good vid

As I was editing the video, going frame by frame over the line, I saw the timing loop on the track and figured straight linging might be quicker! 👍

Yes, but not every lap! If you think you've nailed the lap, straight line it. But the next lap will be slower!

I recently upgraded to a GoPro Hero 11, and it's mounted on my chin, but fairly high - I cans ee the screen through the visor, but it turns off after a minute and is then no longer distracting! 👍

I use Davinci Resolve to edit, and the timing is a custom built Fusion Composition. It's takes ages, longer for laps with yellow/red flags, as I have to step through to the right frame to start showing it etc. I've got it down to about an hour per video now 😂😂
Oh and yes I was at Sheffield on Saturday! Arrived around 12:30.

I set a new PB too, but you'll have to wait a couple of weeks to find out if I was quicker than you 😉🤣🤣 (one more Cov video, then it'll be that next Sheffield video)

@@RobGoesRacing the entire building seems to be about a quater the size of of nottingham's track, very technical track i would definately recommend if you get a chance

Farnborough may actually be a possibility this year. Not sure how I'd feel about a track guide though with only one visit!
