I'm kinda a docklands regular and there's a few things I want to say (Maybe a lot actually)
Just a note: The start/fin line is actually right before turn 4. Even at time of recording of this video is where the start/fin line actually was
0:10 - You scrubbed off quite a bit of speed trying to rotate the kart
0:23/1:47 - You're right about aiming for the middle apex but your kart should be pointing more to the left by turning in later
As a result of that at 0:23/1:53 you've comprised your exit a bit and had to jerk the steering as a result of it and at 0:25/2:01 causes you to countersteer and scrub off your exit speed.
Ideally you want to be smooth all the way through, get your kart pointing more to the left at Turn 2 (Turn 5 in the video) and ease the kart all the way to the outside after clipping the middle apex at turn Turn 3 (Turn 6 in vid)
The upper level double right hander at 0:32/2:17 - You've got the right line but it can be quite hard to keep that momentum keeping it floored and you did a good job keeping that momentum
You can either release right before the first apex and chuck the steering to get rotation and then floor it mid apex
And if your kart hops a lot at that part if you keep it pinned or whilst release,
Dab on the brakes and chuck the steering to get that rotation and momentum (Honestly idk if it works well for others but its fine for me) + lean out like he did
Downhill hairpin with metal strip at 0:36/2:39 - You've got to be careful when you're braking on it because it can sometimes unsettle the kart and cause a lot of oversteer. You have to be quite bold to actually brake on that metal strip if youre light as a twig (well for me)
The double hairpin at the bottom - 0:43/2:57
Honestly hate it with an understeery kart
You have a good line in general and theres not much for me to say apart from making sure you dont go too aggresive in the firsy hairpin and bog down the kart and keep it nice and smooth at the 2nd apex
    Hope this helped 😅

How do you brake? Do yoy just go instantly to 100% brake pressure then lift off immediately, with no trail braking?

On the first stright should i place my kart a little to the right or little bit yo the middle of the track when on a flying lap or in a race in order to get a good entry and exit for turn 1?

2:44 are you sure, to keep braking in the turn?

    • @MXFlamez
      @MXFlamez ปีที่แล้ว +1

As soon as you brake and turn in you floor it
You'd have slowed down the kart enough to not need to do any trail braking before the hairpin

I press the brakes hard for a short period to get rotation which helps turn the kart, especially in tight corners like that hairpin.

Thanks for the video. My best time is 48.6 in petrol karts here.
First time in the new electric karts here was 46.1 in, but did a 45.6 on the next visit.
Having followed the fastest guy to try and learn where I was going wrong I realised my weak areas.
    1. braking too early and gently and for too long.
    2. Not enough early rotation for tighter corners.
I'll try focusing on these areas next visit.
Teamsport have posted a video of a 41 second lap.
