What is your overall fastest lap time at Sheffield Rob?

I love reverse grid races. Separates fast drivers from racers. A racer will set up overtakes and generally in places you dnt expect. Fast drivers will just follow and get frustrated.

Hey mate long time. Looking at your fastest lap during semis you’re a lot smoother less clipping barriers and later apexes but good stuff either way. The move looked fair tbf I would have liked a bit more overlap but if I’m him I’m hanging it around the outside for the inside and making it interesting great vid though

rob clean pass , i would have done it . more than i can say for some other team drivers putting people in the wall and nothing get said , lot of dirty driveing , but same old bikc

Charlie's Dad here, I spoke to You after that driver had had his dummy spitting moment. Charlie had made that move in Cadets so many time without the aid of boost, absolutely spot on overtake mate. Shame Your time and pace couldn't have been better spent!

Congratulations on making it to Nationals Rob! Didn’t get chance to speak to you on the day as I was just trying to concentrate on my own racing in the heavyweights. 🤣 Middleweights this year was a really stacked group so just making it there was a challenge in itself and winning locals and regionals is a good feat all together. Nothing wrong with what you did in heat 2. You had the inside and he just wasn’t brave enough to try and hold it on the outside, although a crash there could be painful 👀 Hopefully see you make it there again next year 🙏🏼

I’ve gone through that set of corners side by side over previous years and it’s never been dangerous. If anything, people have said well done for doing it as it’s a brave overtaking position.

Don't think you did anything wrong you was probably well past him before the Chicane mate... He was probably just anoyyed that you got past him 😂.. Also his driving stile was abit all over the place tbh ano you have to close gaps etc but still got to also some space as he did cut you up a thew times.. 😅

Pleasure as always mate 👊🏻 Incident with Sam for me is a 50/50 understand why he was annoyed, usually big crashes through that section, but that’s also racing. For me you’re absolutely fine he left the gap and you were (from this angle) more than enough alongside

Even before you mentioned kart 20's comments at the end of heat 2, I started counting how often they were braking each lap. He was braking quite literally double the amount of times you should be braking, 6-7 per lap. Anybody that's raced at Warrington more than a few times will know that you only really need to brake 2-3 times total per lap. If that was how he was normally driving when not defending, he's literally sabotaging his own race. As for the move at the end, I'd definitely say it's not a conventional spot to perform an overtake, but you clearly had the run to make it work. He can make the argument that if he hadn't have backed out then he would've gone into the barrier, but that's ultimately not on you once you've made a legitimate move and are far enough alongside. At the end of the day, you had multiple marshals watching you make the move, and clearly they didn't take issue with it. Despite all that, Warrington's a very tough track to race on at the best of times, let alone against some of the best drivers in the country! Not only did you do really well to get there, but you proved you're more than capable of being there.

Personally for the incident with Sam Hill, I would simply treat as a racing incident, for Sam it was risky to hang round the outside, while for you going off line likely resulted in less grip and so would've caused Sam to back off. I'd say this just because I don't recall that corner being used much for overtakes on the stream, so the ground would be dusty.

I remember watching the whole day but I am wondering a) is these on speed 4 on the day and b) how difficult was it for you to get here Rob?

Hey good video I’m the kid that won it in the lambo suit was practicing for bikc managed a 52.3 in that race my pb being a 51.9 but unfortunately in BIKC in qualifying I got Kart 44 which has a crash under a barrier for 30 mins and was 7 tenths of the pace and should not be allowed in qualifying could only manage a 52.5 and was getting constant 52.8 and 52.7 it was a damaged kart so that made me qualify near last and got a dumb pen for no reason in heat 2 which was unfortunate but it is what it is so I’ll try and get lucky with Karts in qualifying next year and see how it goes great video mate 💪💪

Rob! dont know if you noticed but i was stood next to the up ramp at warrington frantically signalling for you to change kart every time you came past in quali😂.. kart 35 was terrible! i thought you either haven't seen me, or just hasn't a clue about the message im trying to get across😂either way mate brilliant work getting to nationals and great video again as always.

Watched most of the semifinal & final races for all classes at the weekend & enjoyed it. I’m new to racing & it was a good bit of homework watching how to get a Kart round the track. A lot of leaning out on corners seemed to be one of the biggest takeaways but I’m not sure it’s going to improve my lap times.

Great Effort Yesterday mate, think you were P9 at one point which is amazing to say you only had one practice session. Hopefully next year 😁

Are these karts seat and pedals adjustable? With the amount of wheel hop I would be lead to believe you may have to much weight on the front and need to move back a touch. OFC driving style can create issues too but may try moving back a touch.

I'm interested to know why you were able to go the full race without needing to swap karts. Wonder if they've slowed them down slightly to make them last longer?

Kart number 10 here😅 the boost isn't really a boost just had extra torque and it isn't every lap it's every 55 secs

Shame you didn't get to grand final in Nationals but at least you tried your best! Did watch the stream yesterday.

Amazing job Rob! Expertly driven! I've just started rental karting myself and your videos are an invaluable resource of learning opportunities. I love that you post your runs unedited so I can see how your race line evolves during a session. I'm struggling a little with my "slow in, fast out" and getting the kart cornering the way I need it to to keep up the speed through technical sections. Any advice or a preferred style of cornering you'd recommend? Good luck in Warrington - I'll be rooting for you! :)

Hi Rob, I raced with you yesterday in the 40 lap session at TeamSport Warrington. I watch your videos, but somehow didn't recognise you in person and only realised it was you when I looked at the results on my phone and saw your tag when I got home. I have only been karting for 2 months, mainly at my local indoor circuit in Preston and that was my first time at Warrington and my first 40 lap race. I was extremely surprised to find that the vast majority of the field were serious drivers, lots of whom are practicing for BIKC finals! To say I found it pretty intense is an understatement - hope I didn't get in your way too much! Bloody sore this morning! :)

Took me a few days to watch this in segments but I finally got through it, Huge congrats Rob!

heyy great job rob, i wish i was as fast as you, but i struggle keeping up with the middleweights as i’m 10st 😅, although i haven’t been to teamsport for a good few years now

Is there an over 50's race?

Went here last night, open session with 15 on track. Loved the spiral down from the top floor, them concrete bits are proper slippery. Struggled up the hills out of the slow corners a bit with carrying a 100KG but managed 49.5. Hope to get to Sheffield soon.

Massive congrats Rob. Charlie and I will be at Warrington for the Nationals. Sadly Charlie was rammed in his Regional Final and wasn't given his place back so has missed out this year. Be nice to finally meet. Charlie is very excited to meet You! All the best!
