BACKMARKERS causing CHAOS at TeamSport Coventry

- Our 50 lap karting race at Coventry got spiced up a little by some very stubborn backmarkers, and it really shook things up. Here's what happened.

The back marker situation at most tracks are quite bad on some days and half the race is on yellows 😂
Believe me, I've seen it first hand, my first time at Warrington, I was on track for 20 laps and I think it went under yellows 14 times lmao

Kart 13 is just that guy at every rental kart track
1st time on cov track that day, with perico,nathan, ellis. Was a good 50lap race apart from the backmarkers. Keep up the good videos perico bro nice to meet u

That one crash where you were pushed into the wall, the same thing happened to me one time but I was about to pass first place, although I did end up finishing 3rd so atleast I got podium 🎉
Just a question if there's people involved in a crash just 2 people and a yellow flag flies and your the leader and their back markers would you overtake around the outside bearing in mind I didn't want to stop where the gap was and then have people up the inside of me and me loose positions but also I didn't want to stay on the inside and risk people taking positions away from me through the gap on the outside of the crash plus I went past the crash but I was gonna let the back markers back thru and tbh 1 of the back markers was my bro and I tried to let him and someone else back past cos of the yellow flag but my bro didn't get the hint as I tried to slow down to let him and someone else past outta respect for the yellow
7:45 the guy in the purple was not making that conner with out taking one of u out 😂😂😂
He got shown the leave space sign twice and I believe he was the only person on the whole grid to get a time penalty despite being second to last 😬

i have the same Sparco gloves and they aren't FIA veryfied but can you use them on a race?
You can use them at basically any rental karting event, yes!
Backmarkers are a pain in the ass. Only if there was a blue flag in Karting letting them know they are slow as fuck
They save blue flags for other events I believe, if they tried to blue flag open races like this it'd be a logistical nightmare keeping track of who's lapped and who isn't

The down ramp and the corner just before the pit straight were indeed the two best opportunities

Maybe some day! I do live in the Midlands and I'm a scrub who doesn't have a driver's licence yet, so I'm a bit limited on where to go currently. I'm sure I could do another red bull bribe for another lift someday lol

As frustrating as this all was, 1. He's a bit bigger than me, 2. I'm not getting myself banned from any track and 3. Technically he helped me by holding the rest of the grid up too 😂

Hey I saw the whole race and saw you trying to stick it around the outside of the back markers, next time your in that situation push them wide it will help and you won’t get flagged as long as it’s not a hard push, well done 👍

Teamsport 50 lappers cost £50 without a membership and about £37 with one. February got us a discount though, so we went racing for only £25 :D
Do they just let anyone into the full races?
Yeah these are the 50 lap races that happen at 8AM on Sundays, they're kinda the best option for our group time-wise

Think you needed your elbows out more with the back markers if they keep squeezing you into barriers they lose the privilege of not being bumped
Thing about that is, TeamSport marshals can be a volatile element, depending on who and where you can be sometimes flagged for even the most minor stuff. Add the fact that Coventry do time penalties as well into that mix and I didn't want to risk anything too egregious that'd get me pulled into the pits 😬

The marshals had to swap two broken karts and keep things running while people were managing to spin at least once every two laps, I'd say they did a great job

Probably, but at that point I was fighting for position and getting impatient. It's all a learning process.

are these public tracks if so you can’t complain if people aren’t as good as you seems as you do it all the time when they may only do it for fun if so get a private track
A perfectly fair criticism, but this is a race, not an arrive and drive practice, and one that I've commuted at 6:30AM to participate in, so I feel that being blocked and put into barriers by people numerous laps off the pace is a valid thing to complain about 😂

@@PericoKarting Being blocked is one thing. It’s irritating and i understand can quickly ruin your race.
Idk though, its too easy to blame the back-marker. Remember it’s not just you that has to get past them, it’s your rivals. A good approach to problem back-markers can work in your favour!
Shouting at them and gesticulating is just spoiling everyone’s day.
