Best tip I got as a beginner was: Braking early is better than braking too late. And also: Braking is not about slowing down, it's about getting around the track faster.
@CashedOutCars used your tips. Shaved 8 tenths a second of my fastest lap. I always had a good line and I'm pretty smooth. But your breaking tip is what saved me dam near 1 second per lap
Thanks my man! I figured it’d help a lot of beginners out, I see a lot of people struggle and not have fun because of it. We’ll be back to regularly scheduled Miata content with the next video!
#3 & 4 are my favorite. The first time i drove 9hp kart I wasn't sure of the lines. There was certain corners i knew i was not fast. I just knew you needed to Prioritize corners leading onto straights. Once i started playing follow the leader with a faster driver thats when i began to find the faster lines and using my brakes as traction coming out of corners. I never did beat him but i did see my lap times decrease from 1:12 to 1:10 to 1:09 to 1:08 and eventually 1:06.5
Great video, just went out a day ago to our local indoor track was very early no one on the track but had fun, did make the rookie mistake of going for 20 laps instead of starting with 10, so I go tired around lap 12/13, but had fun and want to go on a weekly basis, and also get my own kart. Warm regards from Port Elizabeth, South Africa
@@colinsmith595 Thats fantastic, I will head out there next week and again the next two weeks after that. 25s means you should be in their top 5, I have studied my helmet cam footage and I know where I can improve. Hopefully our paths cross and meet up there mate! Well done on that lap time. keep it up
Adding to point 5. I’m 50 pounds at least more than many of my friends I’m so tall I barely fit in carts. But I race my own times. I try to get faster and more consistent with each race.
I have a really hard time braking in a straight line. I push the kart to the limit then feather the brake as I start into the turn. I think it does give me a bit of time, but I'm on the edge of traction where I've seen some others power through in a bit more smooth manner.
The reason i love go kart is because im interested in these racing competition and wish i had a go kart but there is one more will i able to suceed as a racer?
I am going to a go kart place in Barbados🇧🇧 its my first time i am nervous n worried either i hit the pedals to hard or so one not worry if i an slow i am worry about messin up with the kart
the green line means it’s a quick zone, so u can fully accelerate, yellow and orange mean start to slow, and red means close to stop (normally corners) ik this was a while ago but hope it helps
I either have a heavy for or I took good lines because I only lost 1/3 races the only reason why I lost is the.instructor or worker made us have a big gap but I catches up with the leader and I tried to get around him and I did not bump him so that's why I lost
@@nyperfox t2,t3,t4,t5. you want to exit t2 wide and stay on right side. then hit t4 keeping to the right, hit the apex. t5 is tricky, take it wide, aim is to have a very late apex. thatway you avoid the sharp turn of t6. in yours drawing race line you take t2 too tight. yess it avoids the t3 and t4, however you are hitting an early apex of t5 and has to slow down a lot to not go wide. so yess, its seriusly flawed.

Not a go kart fan, just Miata, however this was such a well done video! Should be required viewing for racing.

gokart so fun tho
Bro, a Miata essentially is a go-kart 😂 That's why they're one of the best cars ever made!

Thx man my family where planning to go kart racing and I never done a cart race before but with this video I was first place
Generally true, more specific and accurate it gets when talking about low powered karts and specific corner sequences where it gets tricky
nice man!! just started my kart league last Tuesday, thanks for the tips, guys I know where I lost most time,,
I knew I recognized that track! That's where I race, this video should help! Thanks!
Hopefully it does, enjoy!
Amazing vedio I'm not a beginner but this vedio really does help beginners great work 👍
Thanks you!!
This video is literally for me ❤️
Perfect😄
Well explained.. learned a lot of new things that'll help me in future while learning go-karting OR even just proper driving. :)
Happy to hear that! Have fun out there!

much appreciated I'm actually going karting tomorrow over at sbc :)
What are you driving at 8:52 ?

Maybe because they are trail braking
Don’t feather trail break
Slow in,fast out
I crash while turning and then breaking as soon as the kart spawn out
Thanks!
i think for the turn n°2 you could actually take it with a late apex to be even faster in the next turn chain as they could be taken straight
One thing that I never noticed until now was that I always stayed on the inside and never thought about taking wider turns for more speed
I too... 😂😂😂
Good tips, watched it to beat my sister's boyfriend and ended up placing top 1/4 of the session in my first time karting so it seems to work
your wifes boyfriend is the real winner, tho
I love your videos what’s your favourite part about you mx5 I’m just wondering
Broadly put, the way they drive! They’re so light and great handling cars that their a blast to drive
Thanks for tips, I'm going to race now, so hope it helps
Did it help??
Hey, so I've done some sim racing before, and now that I'm starting to get into karting, how can I translate those skills over to karting.
i love how you put a miata in the beginning of the video as if it was a kart 😂😂😂
Tip 6 Take kart off trolley.
The reason i love go kart is because im interested in these racing competition and wish i had a go kart but there is one more will i able to suceed as a racer?
no.

does taking the green line also is ideal for heavy drivers?
yes

What to do if the cart owners give to my friend faster cart
I had no skill, didn’t know the lines or anything. But I still got the fastest lap time in my class✋
Very nice!
Tip 5: have fun (optional)
I just drive it like a formula 1 car
Im not sure you should do that because smashing your brakes really late into a turn would just make you drift straight into the barrier
You forgot the biggest trick of them all: get my Sodi SR4 rental kart mod for AC 👀
Let's talk about this... Available only on pc right? 😭
@stevenbolton3479 yeah, on consoles you cannot mod games sadly
This track discussed is On Track Karting in Wallingford, CT. Didn't expect to see the closest track to my home on a video like this.
Yessir! That's a super fun track
Hey bro can you mark me a track racing line?
Email it to me, CashedOutCars@gmail.com and I can make something quick, it won’t be perfect but it’ll give you an idea!
I am here watching this tutorial because my friend said driving a Tesla is just like driving a go cart.
tip no.5 is again tip no.3 or am i misunderstood something?
Braking?
Throw your body weight to the outside on a turn, not the inside, tyre will bite and grip more
Techniques: ultra instincts
Steer less
Fast more
I’m fast but no money for a seat hahaha
Lean into the kart
your racing line is seriously flawed.
It's really not
