Enjoyed your commentary, I still wear my 20 year old sub 14060m no date, now on a rubber b strap for comfort, bought the year my first son was born. Honestly, doesn't really get noticed, its just a part of me. It just keeps on ticking, and doesn't look ostentatious. I have tried on a new sub, I loved that too, but it definitely looks flashier.
Marine, excellent video. Thanks for sharing your opinions freely. I wouldn’t expect anything less from a U.S. Marine. As you know, few people have moral courage. No doubt, feathers may be ruffled, especially when in comes to Hublot owners 😅! Personally, I’m likely to want to know someone who is wearing a Casio F91W, Casio G-Shocks, Omegas, or a Rolex Submariner. From my experience, these are people who lead interesting lives
I can't imagine someone being a non watch person and owning a Nautilus.... The submariner I get how a non watch person would rock one but not the Nautilus.
There are so many celebrities that wear Patek nautilus or AP royal oak because these watches are status symbol, a status of success and wealth not because they are into watches and the only thing they learned about history is some short story heard from ad or from watch dealer. It's rare for non watch people to wear something like Vacheron Constantin and not Patek.
will never understand what the hype about the nautilus is, if u ask me i find them uggly looking . i even think the Homage "replicas" look better than the patek one .. pateks nautilus in my eyes looks like a PRX with tumors around the dial .
@@WornDownCrown my familiy knows fuck all about watches, and they all think my Garmin fenix 6x is more expensive than my Tudor black bay , just becouse the Garmin has a screen and alot of functions.
Seems pretty spot-on! The only one on your list that I’ve seen out in the wild is the Submariner. If I notice a person is wearing an analog watch, I’ll usually try to strike up a conversation (or at the very least give them a “Hey…nice watch!” compliment). It’s probably 50/50 whether that person is a watch nerd or not…I’ve had some nice conversations as a result!
A few more: * F91W: You just needed a watch, you could be rich or poor, nobody knows. But what we know for sure is that you needed a watch to tell the time. * Pagani Design: You like watches, you appreciate a bargain and you are probably a little addicted to Aliexpress. * Vintage quartz (Eg: Quartz DeVille, Oysterquartz, Quartz-Astron): You don't believe in the quartz crisis, you believe in the quartz revolution and you think the big mean traditional watchmakers won the battle. * Original "gent" Swatch: You grew up in the 80s and wish you could travel back in time because everything was better then.
Hm. pretty good explanation about buying a Rolex. It made me think. I can afford to buy one but I never thought of it this way before, that a Rolex could be a sign of hard work and long-term saving of money. Besides, a Rolex, unlike, for example, a sports car, does not require additional financial outlays 😎 and that’s very good explanation for my wife 😎😎 have to think about it. Regards from Poland 😎👍
You’re wild as hell but you’ve also got an intellectual side people don’t know about. Not a lot of people know about the Santos unless they’re into watches. I don’t like diamond set watches but that’s because they don’t look good on me, you probably rock that thing better than I ever could.
The people who actually run the world wear IWC watches and don't wear any fashion brands, but wear exclusive expensive brands, most have never heard of or will ever be able to afford. The TV Show "Succession" showcases what I'm talking about, especially with the $650 Cashmere Baseball Cap. My first "real" watch was a Rolex Submariner that I purchase new in 1982 at an AD as a walk-in. I sold it when I bought the first iPhone and discovered I that never looked at my watch for the time, LOL. I came back to the watch game around 7 years ago with a Maratac 39mm Mid Swiss Pilot Quartz that is my daily driver/work watch. Next watch will be either a used Bell & Ross or a Breitling Chrono Avenger. I will never, ever buy another Rolex again as I refuse to bend the knee, like some serf and beg for an AD to take my money. F-Rolex and the secondary (Grey) watch market. Besides that, Rolex is an aspirational purchase for the middle class that is striving to be upper class (which I respect) and not worn by the upper class except for the occasional Platinum version of the Daytona or the new Platinum1908, etc. Awesome video, keep them coming. Might have to buy a G-shock too, all because of you, as watches are always a tool for me, never a statement, as I know who I am and don't give a rat's ass about impressing others.

Well said. The watch doesn’t make the man. It’s the man who makes the watch.

I wasn’t trying to say non-watch people would wear it, but rather how they would react to seeing someone wearing one
Hope that clarifies things

If you’re rocking a Hublot, non watch and watch people’s first thought is, “That’s one of those Invictas from Costco, right?”

Not sure I fit your hypothetical Nautilus owner profile, but man I’d love to get my hands on one of those 👍 Looking forward to part 2 👍

Don’t forget the spring drives in pt2 😎
I wear a diamond bustdown Cartier Santos, particularly when I go to the gun range and college lectures. What does that say about me?

Women prefer crew neck shirts over v-neck on average. Just ask.
There’s only one woman I need to impress and she likes when I wear both.
@@WornDownCrown Well....I can't argue with that. Cheers.
