It's amazing how close they can copy for so cheap ...makes you wonder on true value and who the true thieves are
This is why I won’t buy a Rolex from a private seller. Even ad’s can’t always tell
Just look at some of the staff in AD's 😳 They wouldn't know a Rolex from Bolex 😂
@@steverumney7613 unfortunately they are trained for sales only and not authenticating / watchmaking.
I would not even buy from a grey dealer.
@@andricopoulos70 🥲
If they fakes can't be distinguished easily from a genuine rolex then why on earth is a genuine rolex so expensive? The genuine item is mass produced mostly by machine anyway?!!
I bought my GMT M II from a grey market dealer in '16, before COVID craze. (only paid 6800 USD$ back then!!). I did my homework and "bought the dealer, not the watch". I felt fairly confident, but always had a nagging feeling in the back of my mind, did I get scammed? So, I brought it to a Rolex authorized service center for a regular service last February. I was quite relieved when they called back and said the watch was ready for pickup 4 weeks later. With a new 2-year warranty from Rolex. That confirmed to me that it was authentic, and I did not just blow thousands of $$'s of hard-earned money on a fake. You just never know.
I am curious to know what's the price of service such watch. I want to take mine to service as well. Thanks!
@@pelimartinez 750$ no polishing. 150$ extra if you want polishing. I do not polish my watches.
The SUPER super clones that go for $900-$1100 need a microscope, a very experienced Rolex person and a bloody training manual to discern!!!!😱😱😱
Or it's for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Overpriced shit, the real price of em is 400, for the sub he has 300
@@3lisey That’s not true! You are uniformed with respect.
They have multiple quality levels. The one I bought for my son from a local guy goes for $500.
They start @ $300 online(much cheaper overseas if you know where to go) and they go up to $900-$1100 for Rolex.
True depends on factory it originates from.@@ryanjofre
@@3lisey I'm assuming you are speaking about the clone and not the real Rolex being "Overpriced shit" . A GMT Master II takes one year to make and is done essentially by hand. The gold used in the 2-tone or solids are procured by Rolex and foundered by Rolex. Everything is in-house and vetted to a meticulous standard. The fakes... well who cares. They are equivalent to worthless photocopies of beautiful pictures.
What you are showing is not a super clone, but a regular clone. That makes a lot of differents.
Regular clones are bought by Regular Muppets.....super clones are bought by Super Muppets. Fact
@@markjones1337 It seems that you are the biggest Muppet. I don't hope that you will be cloned. That would be a disaster.
Alright roman sharf chill out !!
@@deadpool8340 Everything else going well in your head?
@deadpool8340 he's right though. Super clones are quite literally 1:1. They even nail the colors but NOT the finish. Needs a microscope to find the difference, visually impossible to tell without opening up the back, and even then, the only piece thst sets the fakes apart from the real one is the balance bridge. And you can get a genuine Rolex balance bridge, install it in the super clone and it'll be damn near impossible to tell. Lots of these massive youtubers have gotten scammed by real super clones. These things will even use real gold, real diamonds, so it depends on what you're looking for
Music is too loud especially when your speaking

This was definitely not a "super clone" it's just a high end rep, VERY surprising anyone thought that was real!!! I've seen MUCH better fakes here on youtube where the only thing that gives away the watch is the movement inside. Some of the fakes have much better more defined laser engravings than genuine Rolex too. I've seen videos of people thinking the REAL rolex is fake when compared to the fake one based of how detailed the laser etched crown at 6 is, and how clear the logo is on the clasp. Again, very surprising that any reputable watch dealer would fall for THIS fake, and I warn you there are MUCH better ones
Exactly I've seen super clone handmade using genuine case and strap 😂 they surpass AAA clones
Very interesting and great VLOG, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! Keep up the good work.
Thank you! 🙌
It’s a shame because AD’s won’t sell watches.
Im shocked about the receipt bit, i always ask for proof of purchase and thought that was covering me, but obviously not!!
Crazy isn’t it!
A friend living in Philippines has an authentic Subdate and a super clone Subdate. I could not see any difference. He had me wind the authentic then the clone. Winding that clone was immediately easy to tell a poorly made movement. In fact I would have been very suspicious if had no comparison it was that bad.
i have a vsf 41mm datejust and a real 41mm 2 tone. the average person cannot tell. when you actually wind the watch, and set the watch it's obvious, but other than that, it's incredibly difficult even side by side comparison
It is scary how many people fall for it!
why do you have a copy when you own the genuine item?
@appleman29 I live in Florida and go out at night on the beach and broadwalk and to the concerts, and although I've never had a problem, I know homeless people live on the beach. u see the same ones all the time. and I wore it a few times, but now where my pelagos 39 or jlc reverso when I'm concerned people i don't want will take an interest in my property. ultimately, I'm torn, I do feel some type of way about fake watches and think they take away from all the genuine and maybe that's why I don't where it as much and never around people I know. even when people who know me would think it's real because they know I have the money for real watches and own real watches, I wouldn't want to admit to people I know I gave a fake as well and bring into question my real watches
Almost same story just I’m in Ny
It's pretty easy for you to tell a fake when you have all the genuine documents to compare to. But for the average person who does not have access to these, just tell them to check the balance wheel. Simple as that.
Another good tell, is to hold it up to see if any light is showing through between the lugs & end links on the bracelet , real Rolex watches are incredibly tight with not the slightest gaps
Personally I never buy a Rolex from anyone but an AD. No offense to all honest watch dealers but the fake watch industry has achieved an incredible growth.
I hope he gets his money back, that's a tough lesson to learn. Like with most things in life, if it seems too good to be true it usually is. Rather pay a bit extra and buy from a trusted dealer to have peace of mind. And the same goes for selling, better to sell to a dealer that pays straight into your account before you've left the premises and receive a bit less than try to maximise every last penny selling to a private person and then end up getting scammed for the whole lot.
Nice work guys, scary stuff
Thank you Jack!
Really good 👍
so looking at the glass and winding it is enough for you to know - saves someone else the time watching
Did you watch the whole video? You just picked out two of the more subtle tell-tale signs 😊
@swisstimepieces if someone has the money to buy one then better they get it checked by a professional than watch your video..... but for your average man on the street who encounters more fakes that's all they need to know, raised glass, poor winding system and look at the seconds hand ;-)
A friend of mine does watch repair and he admits he now sometimes uses parts from fake Rolex watches to repair real watches which have been damaged. His reasons are the cost of replacement parts from Rolex plus the fact that fake watches are now so close that some of their parts fit perfectly at a faction of the cost.
What is his company called?
Just check the balance bridge. Real rolex is free sprung. To expensive to copy that. Fake has adjustment sliders. (2 antennas) also the little screws must be on the inside of the balance wheel otherwise it is not free sprung. Directly go check the balance. i have seen real Rolex cases and dials with fake movements so biggest advice is check the balance bridge. No need to check other features.
Really helpful information for our viewers! Thank you for sharing 🙌
@@swisstimepieces also the little screws must be on the inside of the balance wheel otherwise it is not free sprung. Directly go check the balance.
So you need to get someone in a headlock take off the watch open the back and check it with a microsc
@@pauldavies917 no need for headlock or microscope. If you need this you don’t know your watches. If you buy from regular person you still need to verify. So screw of case back and check balance bridge. It is clearly visible with the naked eye. Original is free sprung balance with little screws on the inside of the balance.
Yep, this is the only sure-fire way to know.
The Chinese Rolex clone designers are taking notes
And that's why he said he wasn't going to disclose all the differences. The ones he did disclose are already widely known.
This ain’t a super clone, just a poor replica that can be spotted a mile away. There are loads of super clones out there, only verified by removing the case back and inspecting the movement. Sadly many non authorised dealers don’t check this.
The simple answer to this dilemma is just don't buy a Rolex. 👍
I can't help thinking rolex has fuelled theft and clones by making it near impossible for people to buy new one without waiting forever.
Don't forget other watch brands are also being replicated, Rolex are just in the public eye a lot more.
I'm 100% with you on that, I've been on several waiting lists for more than five years for a Submariner with not even a call back, and I will not pay over retail for it.
@swisstimepieces I guess so but there price's aren't being driven up by wait lists.
@@simonyallop1488 Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet… even Moonswatches 😊
@swisstimepieces My apologies,to be honest I didn't realise they were that hard to get,I suppose its because Rolex are more in the spotlight for the general public
This is why I don’t buy watches without the white hang tag. Rolex is trying to keep them for a reason
The white hand tag is easily replicated, even with the white tag it can be a super clone. Always have the warranty card & watch inspected by a reputable retailer 😊. A white swing tag is usually only handy when buying a precious metal piece like a John Mayer and you want to check the dial code matches the green dial.
@@swisstimepieces I agree that white hang tag doesn’t authenticate the watch, but at least giving me additional peace of mind. Especially when the watch comes with some unique dial. Personally I haven’t seen a replica with the white tag. Have you?
@@cookingwithwatches definitely! I have still found UK ADs keeping the white swing tag too which baffles me. I have seen one superclone with a white tag before but the text & print was blatantly wrong.

Did the bar code on the white tag when scanned give you the watches serial number as it should ?

I’ve seen loads of real Rolexes with poor rehaut alignment.
How old were they?
@@swisstimepieces the engraved rehaut has only been used since the mid 2000s. So not that old.
I’ve also seen loads with poor magnification on the date window and poor bezel alignment.
Rolexes having perfect QC is a myth.
Also that isn’t a super clone in the video
It doesn't matter how old are they, there are many Rolex that aren't perfect, people think that Rolex are always perfect but they are not.
There are many forums that discuss about these issues.
This is "not" a super clone. This is a regular knock-off, which is poor quality. The super clone (clean) are incredible, and near impossible to tell apart from authentic models.
Yes there are better copies out there, however they are not impossible to authenticate. If you are Joe Public though it can be difficult!
@@swisstimepieces Agreed. The motors in the super clones are a damn near match, but finish work is the give away. Frightening how the exterior details are flawless. Next time show a super clone model....
I've never seen a clone replicate the glycurdur free sprung balance - prove me wrong

I will stick with my 1979 Tudor watch passed down from my pop. And his 1949 18 karat gold longines watch I wear them special occasions. My favorite everyday watch is my 690.00 Steinhart Swiss made from a German own company. The price point not too bad from 490 to little over 1000 bucks. I like Tudor because made real well and I believe they are related to Rolex. Put my two older watches my father left me are beautiful and love the older vintage watches. But I was very surprised about the steinhardt for the price point good quality Swiss watch.
I Would love that watch other than its a fake i would just like it in my collection along with my real sub and a invicta pro dive

I bought an air king from a Rolex retailer in the Glendale mall ca. I still wonder sometimes if it’s real that maybe they got scammed just the way it was sold to me it seemed to easy to get when no one had Rolexes for sale but they did for some reason
Put it in a pot of boiling water with a Vostok Amphibia for half an hour. When you take the watches out if only the Vostok is still working the other watch is NOT a Rolex.
‘Straight off the bat’.

So I suppose these super clones are genuine right until they get to someone who can identify them. If these watches circulate between amateurs then they have that value.
The rehaut to my Rolex is off and it is genuine. A misaligned rehaut is not a give away to tell if its fake or real
Id only ever buy from an AD .

Nothing like a super clone
Very interesting video, thanks Dunno know why you wear those daft gloves on a snide watch

So what happens with the fake?
I guess after confirming it as 'fake', the AD would cease it as a counterfeit product and destroy it? 🤔.
In all fairness, this one was spotted, who knows how many were bought already that were too good to be caught.
Fake watches get past people everyday.
Might as well just buy the super clone at this point. ;
Its laughable that you are identifying a clone because of flaws in the watches finishing, yet there are others on YT who are showing how chinese brands such as San Martin produce clones with better finishing than Rolex.
I wouldn’t advise authenticating a watch by solely looking at the finish if that is what you are implying.
U can also buy fakes from AD because they themselves dont even know ...what if the stocks were mixed during shipping.
I highly doubt that! They send their watches to the CPO for inspection.
I find it hard to believe with all the information available online, how someone does not check 🤔 Why does Nobody ever mention watch accuracy. I'm sure the fakes won't be accurate to += 2 seconds a day. Some genuine Rolex are accurate to 0.25 seconds a day.
How accurate was this Super Clone ???? I bet you never even checked.
Some genuine Rolex are not running perfectly accurate, that cannot be the sole method used to authenticate. With this particular watch, we knew it was fake before we even took it out of the box.
@@swisstimepieces Not sole, but MUST be a good indicator. If the fakes keep better time 🤔 Then it's better to purchase a fake 😂 I'm well aware of quality issues of ROLEX over 30 years of experience 😳

The answer to this is very simple. You should only buy a Rolex watch from a proper authorised Rolex dealer not even the people who made this video, If you don’t sell it back to an authorised dealer it gets blacklisted you should only be able to exchange Rolex watches via an authorised Rolex dealer who are approved by Rolex if it’s secondhand it’s no longer Rolex and it’s no longer Rolex approved.
You can only sell to CPO if the watch is 3 years old. I personally would not wait 5-10 years and spend over £100k with an AD on items I do not want to get a Daytona. Each to their own.

Incorrect. What you are referring to is know as a franken, not a “super clone,” where someone will mod either a low, mid-tier, or high quality fake Rolex with genuine parts; however, even this cannot fool a trained eye.
Top clones, which is a euphemism for a fake or counterfeit, does not use genuine Rolex parts. They don’t have access to these parts on a mass scale. The parts that make its way to the gray market aren’t plentiful enough for mass counterfeiters in China to use.
Top counterfeiters in china have reversed engineered Rolex movements, but these so called ‘cloned movements’ can be easily spotted by the trained eye.
