- This is a quick review of a cheap USB C Endoscope / Inspection Camera I bought from AliExpress for £3.50. Bargain!
It has a USB type C connector as well as USB 2 and micro USB. It measures 7mm across for the camera and has a 1m hard cable with a flexible cable end that connects to your Android smartphone. You can adjust the brightness of the LEDs using the inline control.

Iv got the same one of these and my angled mirror was blurry then i noticed it has a tiny protective film over the mirror which made it alot better.

AN Camera worked for me with the smaller 3.9mm equivalent.

Yeah, right on... I also got my inexpensive endoscope to work thanks to this video and the obscure app that makes it function. It's probably as good as I'll ever need. 👍👍👍🤠🙃

You're welcome. The Desptech stand-alone one is worth a look.. the head on it is a lot thinner th-cam.com/video/mixlRljPOCM/w-d-xo.html, but overall it's a lot more expensive than these cheap ones, which are very good for occasional use.

It looks like the mirror has a plastic cover you can peel off? That would explain the poor quality image.

Own similar version , Please inspect the attachments thoroughly before they go down a deep spark plug hole . My magnet and the non magnetic wire holder ended up on the top of the piston , detached from the camera. The Magnetic recovery tool managed to suck the tiny endoscope magnet out of the SS non magnetic wire holder and it , the wire , had to be recovered with the extended Claw tool used by mechanics for similar events . This was entirely my fault and a good lesson was learned . Sharp right angle edges coming out of the sharp right angle edge of the spark plug hole are a problem , some tape may help , the top of the brass end on the magnetic recovery tool was beveled with a file , that made such a difference even working inside the combustion chamber . This cam (had it for years) has a wide variety of applications for all owners to enjoy . cheers
Oh wow.. that's really good advice, thank you so much for taking the time to comment! The edges of the endoscope & attachments are sharp, and I've had issues pulling it back out a number of times due to them getting caught.. I wish other manufacturers would realise this & soften their edges too; at least filing them down is an option, but isn't something we should need to do.
FYI...I GOT THE SAME ONE WORKS FINE FOR THE PRICE AND WHAT I USE IT FOR. GOOD REVIEW.

Glad it was helpful. I’m not sure how good the wireless ones are.. found it easier to just be able to plug it in & not have to faff around with network settings 😉

Thanks for your help. My Oppo A91 phone requires the OTG function to be selected for it to work. Settings> Additional Settings> OTG Connection.

The mirror works if you come to a sharp turn.... it was possibly too close to get an image otherwise . idk Just used it in my ear ... LOL... too funny. Used it down the clothes dryer shoot where the lint screen comes out... OMG... likely saved me a service call. Thanks again.

Thanks. I put the usb c in my phone and mothing happened. Thx to you I found that you have to flip the usb clip open. The mirror has an protective cover, which you have to remove for a sharp image

I have downloaded 3 softwares to my PC so far but none of them helps me to see via borescope. Could you please advise me a software to try.

Just a thought...isn't the prism mirror covered with a protective film? Remove the protective film...try again...I would be very interested in the result....I need to look at the engine cylinder wall...I would be interested if it works! Thank you!

How fix focus??? My camera don't have good focus...
There isn't generally a focus ring (or autofocus) on these cheap cameras (or indeed, the more expensive ones I've tested so far), so you have to make sure the object you're looking at is in the focal range of the camera. This varies by brand & model, so you'll need to check the specs of yours.

On Windows you could try the built-in Camera app to view it.. or install a program like OBS which is also available on the Mac.

The end with the camera is stiff.. No way to bend it.

I tried 3 different phones before I got it to work. Huawei Moto7 and then a Samsung, and if the 45-degree mirror doesn't work it probably has a plastic protective film that must be removed

Does work with 90 degree elbow?
It'd be flexible enough to go around a 90 degree bend depending on the smoothness of the pipe.

I've just had one delivered today. I've downloaded the app on the booklet. The app opened up fine But it doesn't seem to work when connected to my phone. I have an (oppo smartphone) unsure what to do. Whether it be the app is not compatible with my phone? Should I try another app if so and if any one has an oppo phone like me what app is best?? You could try EasyCap Recorder or USB Camera Pro.. Both of those I've used in the past. Let us know how you get on.

It might be worth checking on a PC, then you can rule out the phone being the issue

Yes, and you can view the video feed from it using an application like OBS.
Does this work for any ctype phone
Unfortunately not.. the phone needs the right drivers & as far as I know, there’s no easy way to tell whether yours supports it. However, I think support is quite common now, and I’ve had this working on a number of my Android phones, including ones from Motorola and Samsung.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra which is great. You could go for other models in the Samsung range, or look at Motorola (which the rest of my family use, since they're cheaper but good quality).

all of the people complaining on Amazon about the poor quality of some of this endoscopes, this can explain LOL😄 they should put it in writing on the instructions manual or on the box.
That software works flawlessly in Android 13 with my Chinese boroscope and microscope, unlike most other apps. TY.

Hmm, are you using a phone with usb c, or usb otg? I’d say try it in a PC to make sure it’s not defective.

The app worked but the screen is green and I can only see 15% of the view. Tried other apps they dont work. Its a shame they sell you something and advertise the entire screen just to scam you further. Whatever happened to stuff you buy read plain instruction and then it works, but not anymore. I put mine back in the box waiting on a 4 year old to show me how to use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
