Adam marvels at the advances in electronics miniaturization on display in his recently acquired endoscope. This is a flexible wireless camera with a built-in light that you can snake into hard-to-reach places and crevices around your home or workshop. It sends HD video you watch remotely on your phone, and this model has the smallest diameter of any endoscope Adam has seen--plus it's only $30!

Hi Adam. Short story about my boroscope I use in auto engine inspection. Some years ago we were having our kitchen completely remodeled and while outside in our back yard, I noticed a baby rabbit in trouble. So, I brought it in the house, made a box for it and made sure the rabbit was as comfortable as possible. Well, we awoke the next morning to find the rabbit was not in the box. Now, the top was folded in so we thought it would not get out. We searched the whole house and nothing. We were going crazy, don't want a rabbit loose in our home. Then I thought, I have a boroscope, let me look under and behind the lower cabinets. Low and behold, there it was , between two side by side cabinets. One way in and one way out , up and over the kick panel. We got the little rabbit out unharmed but only because of my boroscope. I love my boroscopes so much I have two different types. Flex shaft and solid shaft.

Bought a different model about 4 or 5 yrs ago. Perfect to see behind walls for electrical, plumbing, etc. I installed a tv screen on the bedroom wall and was able to look first, then no frustrating surprises afterward:) Able to light up behind the walls like a Christmas tree to assure no electrical was in the way. Great little gadget for a super reasonable price.

A buddy of mine threw his keys onto his dash, and they fell through a vent. We wouldn't have been able to get to them without taking the entire dash apart. I used one of these scopes and was able to feed it into the dash, find the keys, and managed to feed it straight through the key ring and retrieve them. So worth it, especially when they're so cheap now!

Quick tip, Humans are disgusting, be prepared for that.
Even now, I still use it for completely stupid stuff.
My favourite was attaching it to my Dog's lead/collar(so the lead carried the weight and not my Dog's back), it was fun to see roughly what my little Doggo sees when around the house and out for a walk.
Used it as a rear view camera once, on myself, and spent a few hours trying to live my life backwards xD

After watching this video, I went out and bought one of the endoscope he reviews. It came today and I figured out how to get it working with both my iPhone and iPad Pro. Then something occurred to me and I tried taking the thing out to my travel trailer, to see if I could use it as a backup camera. Imagine my surprise when it worked, though I was standing right next to it, so it might not work from 35 feet away when I'm in my truck pulling the trailer. Then there is the matter of figuring out how to find a place to mount this thing inside the trailer so that only the camera itself is outside.
And as the company that makes this little camera doesn't seem to have a functional web site, I have no idea who to ask about developing my idea. Still, I suppose I can work on the hole in the rear of the camera first, so I can play around with the idea.
Thanks, Adam and Tested for making my summer trips more interesting.

Great tool tip. I repair laboritory robotics. My dad gave me a wired endoscope that he had bought for a project and didn't need any more. But it's like 30 ft long and it's a pain to carry around and it only works with the micro USB connector. I think I'm going to get one of these for my tool box.

Similarly I recently bought a WiFi Otoscope because I had a very significant ear blockage and could not hear from my left ear. It allowed me to see the problem and monitor progress as I cleaned it out using the proper solutions. Took about a week to fully come clean. Tiny cameras are amazing!

Just charged my 5.5mm/10M/5mp this evening in case I need it for a job tomorrow morning (only cost around $50AU a couple of months ago) and your vid just popped up in my notifications...strange how the world works?? ...A customers vehicle is losing or consuming coolant somewhere so possibly a head gasket leak. I Have a similar app.style one I link to my phone, so I'll take a look down the spark plug holes...so much easier to use than all-in-one units from recent times you mentioned (I separated the screen from my old one and added an extension lead between the screen and hand piece to make it a little more practical but it's nothing compared to these new wifi ones) also sooo good now we can take still pics and vids with them too...I use it to capture all sorts of stuff, and find it really handy to be able to send footage or pics directly to my customers, or post the pics/vids here for the whole world to see if I choose...technology nowadays is such an amazing thing👍🇦🇺

@@BrockHenry Hi Brock, yeh I figured the longer the better since I want to use it for all sorts of things, only downfall is controlling the camera head might be a challenge at full extention, the head isn't remote controlled etc.
Mine is a china product, but works well, came with the common accessories, short charge cable, 45° mirror, magnet and hook.
Not sure if I can post a direct link here but I'll type it down below.
I'm in West Australia, I got mine off eBay via N.S.W. I searched under 'wireless inspection camera' and plenty came up. You'll need to go through and read the descriptions to select the one you want..at the moment most sellers are out of stock on the 10m/5.5mm/5mp but most offer the same in 2M or 5M still, or just order ex-china if not in a hurry.
This seller below is in South Australia (bellashop2019) still has all types in stock, hopefully this link below works for you, I tried it and it worked for me from here.

It arrived this morning. It was turned on in the box, and was slightly warm. Presumably the button got bumped on during shipping.
Installed the software and it worked instantly. Now to find interesting places to stick it.

My wife worked in the endoscopy department for about 13 years. She's seen a few sights and regularly had nightmares. I remember waking up in the middle of the night unable to move my head. My wife was sleep-working and had me in a headlock. "DON'T MOVE OR YOU'LL DIE!" she hissed in my ear. The joys of being married to a nurse :)
