Good job on the strip and rebuild. Enjoying your videos very much. Maybe a parts tray one day. I agree with your comment about auto deployment like thumb studs and flippers as in Australia it is illegal to have autos.
lol Love the Band aid. I should consider adding one when I return the knives I have sharpened. Yes, that smack when opened is fun. The spring under the release button was rusted in the one I had, but that one was really cheap. Still, some oil on it (or a drop in the spring well) may be a good idea.
Looks like a very good serviceable knife. If you find that you love having an auto in your pocket look into the Kershaw launch series I really like them for daily carry utility knife.
We use to make this model automatic when they came in they weren't milled out or have a spring I worked at a knife retail store the springs we made from piano wire
Well done taking it apart,I'm glad I don't have a automatic knife I would not have the patience .I agree that a small magnetic bowl would make life easier
Do you remember what size spring you installed? I have this exact knife but not the old spring. I lost it. I went to knife kits.com and saw they have many different sizes. Thanks for your help.
@@BladeBanter yea I like that force actually most Chinese knifes or usual other auto u have only pin cause u pull it out and u put the blade on the spring and u turn around put the pin and done it's good as new xd

Agree a dedicated disassembly mat will be a good addition, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

I was glad I didn't send mine in for service as their guidelines say they will dispose of any automatic knife that comes in for service.
Converting Top Lock II. The spring bed is cut, but the blade is
not drilled. Do you know the hole size in
the blade.

Thanks for the suggestion Kershaw has very good customer service too.

Very cool I probably did it wrong but this knife kicks hard.
@@BladeBanter no you did good . It was weird sometimes the frame would come milled out but we had to drill the holes in all the blades for the springs
We had both sizes and all kinds of inserts from red bone to wood
@@motomark9736 What did you use to drill the hole in the blade?
Great video..I have a Boker SpeedLock ll.
Somehow i have lost the main countersunk screw for the pivot point. Anyone know the size of that screw?

Agree, I had seen a rubber mat with little cups around the edge that might be nice to keep thing in the order they were removed.
Hey Jack sent me, I like your content alot!
Appreciate the comment and welcome to the channel.
Jack the farmboy suggested that I subscribe to your channel; however, I am already subscribed.
Thanks and good luck on the giveaway, which one are you going for?
I already own the Ontario Rat 2 in D2 steel so my choice is the KaBar Dozier. Have a great day.
good vid. I'm going to swap blades in a couple boker autos
Nice this is still my only auto. Oh wait I have a lightning OTF too

That I don't, but I believe they will assist if you contact them. I installed the stronger spring when I did it. Thanks for watching and good luck.
Hi ! Jack sent me over! Cool channel.
Thanks appreciate it.
Jack Farmboy sent me! Good video! I subscribed.
Thanks a lot best of luck on the giveaway
Jack FarmBoy sent me over here, still love those inlays 😁
Nice im going to go watch his video.
If spring is removed, it get locked open by the button? TY!
I mean, the button locks open and close blade?
Yeah it's a lock to lock button lock if the auto spring is removed.
@@BladeBanter oh nice, i will remove that nasty spring
It will not have a closed detent as you will need to depress the button to open and depress to close.
Jack Farmboy sent me over here. Glad he did. Just found a knife I want
Nice, which one?
This one
Nice still available through some different sources.
I have the same knife. There is a metal ring missing in yours. That is why the spring is deformed.
Ahh I had picked it up with all the guts missing. Will need to track down the part. As I can't send it in as they will just destroy it.
thankyou
What size spring was the correct one?
It depends on preference for the spring tension. The one installed is still working, although I don't use it much.
I have this same knife but it won't lock. After watching this I think I can fix it.
Nice, I had picked this one up from a local gun shop
See the spring on ur one was a lot more then required over tentioned I came searching how to fix one from oxidation or corossion without issues xd
Yeah it had a good amount of tension and hadn't installed a spring prior. With an aluminum handle you could polish it as well.

Ouch my eye lol!
It was concerning when I was twisting it to load the spring.
