So here's a story for you all. So, awhile back I got one a Protech TR4 that also happened to be a first production run model which made it even cooler. After a few months of having it the spring broke, which obviously makes the knife useless being an auto. Well, I emailed Protech about my problem and they have to have one of the best customer services. Besides shipping, it cost me nothing to get it fixed, and they said that if I had any more problems with the knife they would take care of it for me. They didn't bother asking questions, they just fixed the problem, and fixed it fast. I would highly recommend Protech if anyone is looking for an auto! Also great video as always guys!
I love that they have such good customer service, but had you selected a better knife perhaps the spring wouldn't have broken in the first place. Who needs a POS that needs to be sent in to be repaired? I'm just saying.
Service after the sale is what makes or breaks a business. I work at a furniture store as lead delivery driver and service tech. Any time there is a problem with one of our products, I go out to the customer's house and fix the problem free of charge even if I have to take the item back to the shop to fix it and then re-deliver it. Most other furniture stores charge for the extra delivery trip at least, so the fact that they pay nothing makes the customers very happy and we have gotten numerous 5 star reviews online and a lot of word of mouth business because of it! I also get a lot of tips as well! 😀
I'm totally down to see Ben's collection. Also, I don't think someone whose job is to sell knives, and has worked for at least one other knife company, can reasonably be accused of disliking knives. Lots of love! Keep it up!
Auto-knives are not legal to own/buy/import where I live. This has put an enormous stress and spiritual burden on my knife-addicted soul. My dream is to one day be able to play with a Benchmade Infidel OTF without my government looking at me as an infidel and traitor to my country. My brethren, please pray for my well-being and for the freedom of my country's knife laws!
Okay here's my take on Ben as Point man for Blade HQ videos. He is always on point accurate and smooth as silk. That may be boring to some people. But is absolutely necessary when there's a team involved. I love you guys you are one of my favorite videos. Keep up the good work thank you.

It has been a great knife I just wish it at least had a thumb stud. An auto one would solve that problem! I want one but they're probably way out of my price range... 😟
Automatic knives are my favorite. But I won't buy one without a safety. I've had a Benchmade spike come open in my pocket before. And that's dangerous. You can't depend on that resesed button.

Thank you guys for making great videos. As someone who just got into knives 2 years ago, I really appreciate the way in which you guys causally/comically explain/introduce different knives. I also appreciate Ben’s frankness when talking about being a ‘cheap sucker’ (his words not mine) when purchasing knives, as so many knife videos on TH-cam focus mainly on knives that are in the hundreds - thousands of dollars. That being said, haha, it would be cool to get a regular 3rd guy or girl on the show that mainly likes expensive knives. With Ben being focused on affordable quality, Zac being focused on practical/field usability, and the 3rd person on expensive exclusivity. It would be like the ‘top gear’ of internet knife shows. Again, thanks for making great content, and look forward to more videos.
I’ve got a Piranha that I bought maybe 15-20 (?) years ago. It’s a great knife. The spring finally broke so I bought another. Both are the P1 model. I’ve got a thing for Piranha Knives. The only problem is I can’t afford all of the models (in red of course). If you like autos, give yourself a treat and pick one up.

I have over 20 autos and 15 otf . I have benchmade, microtechs, parana, sog, houge, Kershaw, bokers ext ext and I'm telling you guys the sog spec elite and the parana bodyguard are SUPREME! as far as otf nothing beats a ultra tech or a utx- 85.
Just got the Boker Kalashnikov. It is even better than I expected. I didn't expect the handle to feel so great. The knife also has good weight to it too. It feels solid and well built. It also was sharp as can be right out the box. Its my new EDC. Im putting my link on the bench.

I EDC an AFO II for a few years now, a bit big but I love it. About the lock on an auto, for me the most important thing is I can lock the blade open. No chance of it coming closed on my fingers is the button is accidently hit. Nice vid, subbed.
I have two piranha and both have opened in my pocket. My Gerber converts have the lock and have become the only one I Carry. I can tell Ben loves knives because he has a very specific & consistent list of what he likes & doesn’t like in a knife. You can have an auto in California as long as the blade is under 2" in length. Pro-Tech makes several California specific autos. Sprint, Calmigo, Runt, and Half Breed

I got an auto adamas for Christmas in 2017 and I've carried it every day except for the handful of times when I couldn't carry it and it has worn in beautiful and is still as solid as the day I got it even after the abuse I've put it through cutting drywall, cutting wires and hacking through branches it's still ticking
Question: how the hell do I buy an auto? It's apparently illegal to ship it across state lines (I'm also not in the military) and no store anywhere near here seems to carry decent auto knives (especially Protechs). Edit: I'm in New England, by the way.
Got an Adamas mailed in from OR to Az no problem. Big knife and a tank; I use it for opening packages/boxes and hope I never have to use it for what I bought it for, thugs.
Ya'll finally got the boker vox kompact back in and i hurried up a snatched one. The stonewash blade. And its a snappy little knife, the only problem i had with it is the pivot screw kept working tight and would stop the blade from deploying. Sooo i loctite that sucker and boom fixed it. Great knife. And ya'll have fast shipping so i will be ordering again guys. Take care.
I use knifes every day I mean every day its an everyday Carry. I use it on the ranch out doors and with food sometimes. I have never owned a knife over 40 bucks. I love Gerber I love mossy and I also like buck . But I don't own one over 40$ and they work the same as these knifes plus they have warranties also . I think as a collection it's cool but to use them it's stupid for so much money

Speaking of pocket clips, the pocket clip on the Launch 4 just might be the best placed and most beneficial of all the ones I have tried in this video. It is perfectly placed opposite of the button, being a small auto it gives good grip to have great control when opening!!

I carry the microtech utx-85 drop point combo edge as I find it to be the perfect edc multi role knife. Utility, elegance, defense. It’s close to the dimensions of a standard Swiss army camp knife and doesn’t scare the neighbors. It’s pricey for a cutting task knife but I’ve carried it almost every day for 3ish years without issues which means I’m paying about $0.30 a day for the privilege and it’s only getting cheaper
I ordered a Benchmade AFO tanto from you guys and I LOVE IT! Delivery was super fast and you guys beat Benchmades website price by 50$. I got it to replace my barrage. It’s nice as well but the valox handle just feels cheap.
After my sister and I moved away to live with our grandma I left my knife collection behind and blade hq is really helping me with my new collection with their lower than msrp prices, I just picked up a Kalashnikov and as soon as the Warhawks come back in stock I’m gonna buy one for my sisters birthday and one for my collection I’m typing on an iPhone so I’m not using proper grammar don’t judge me

And for anyone that is willing to spend a bit of money on a auto, id reccomend the Triage Auto (Benchmade). To me, I love the axis-lock switch, and the handle feels amazing in my hands, and seems to fit just right. Though for EDC, you probably want to get the drop ponit blade on it.
I’ve only had one auto open in my pocket and it was the Adamas. Got a nice slice out of my thumb so if you wear carpenter jeans and carry an axis lock auto use the lock.
I found an mtech halo v bootleg that has proven to be rock solid. I beat the hell out of it because I only paid a hundred bucks for it and that thing is great! Good quality steel, great action even after a year of abuse and it’s gorgeous! I honestly believe it might be as good or better than the original mtech.
Kershaw launch 6 I've had 2 so far open up in my pocket. I'd skip that one bleed a lot from going into my pocket only to hit the blade. The first one Kershaw wanted it back to see what was wrong with it. My sith Lord is by far a favorite by microtech but that first small boker is way nicer then you expect for the price.
Thanks for the videos guys. I just placed my first ever order for a "real" knife. I ordered a Benchmade 5270SBK Mini-Presidio. While it wasn't one in this video it looks like the exact size and quality I've been looking for. Keep up the good work!
My favorite EDC is my Hinderer XM 18 Spanto Jade G10. It is HARD to beat that knife. If the blade were butter knife dull , you could probably throw it at an attacker and take em down. In my life I've never held anything more ergonomic (what's important to me) and confidence inspiring. I hope Rick will introduce some in other steels. For 450 bucks....worth it.

you are correct the Gerber covert and mini covert are from the Gerber combat folder to fairburn Applegate combat folder which originally was a fixed blade boker knife designed by fairburn and Applegate or combat use so it's kind of a modern replacement for the old Gerber fairburn Sykes style fighting knife
My Boker Strike came with a defective lock. Im sure they’re not all like that, just a heads up for people looking to buy one. Not saying don’t get one, just saying just check your Strike for lock rock (up and down). It wasn’t just play, you could feel the blade moving the button lock out of place.
I think the reason why they have it where you push the release down in the back of the knife to close it is to keep some of the originality of the 110. I love that 110 automatic

The 110 has to close with the back lock. That's what makes it a 110. The strong reliability of the lock up.

The beautiful Kershaw Launch 4 series is very Cali friendly and can be shipped.
I can get any sized auto, u just can’t carry it in Cali. But u can have it at home. Now if u wanna carry an auto the blade has to be 2in.

Buck 110 is a cool auto the lock back is for nostalgia and if you notice no other knife looks like it , the quality is timeless. I love buck .

I got an auto adamas for Christmas in 2017 and I've carried it every day except for the handful of times when I couldn't carry it and it has worn in beautiful and is still as solid as the day I got it even after the abuse I've put it through cutting drywall, cutting wires and hacking through branches it's still ticking
Question: how the hell do I buy an auto? It's apparently illegal to ship it across state lines (I'm also not in the military) and no store anywhere near here seems to carry decent auto knives (especially Protechs).

It's not illegal to ship them via FedEx or UPS (not via USPS). Which state are you in?
You should check your state laws; even if autos are legal in your state, you might need a carry permit.
Got an Adamas mailed in from OR to Az no problem. Big knife and a tank; I use it for opening packages/boxes and hope I never have to use it for what I bought it for, thugs.

Ya'll finally got the boker vox kompact back in and i hurried up a snatched one. The stonewash blade. And its a snappy little knife, the only problem i had with it is the pivot screw kept working tight and would stop the blade from deploying. Sooo i loctite that sucker and boom fixed it. Great knife. And ya'll have fast shipping so i will be ordering again guys. Take care.

I use knifes every day I mean every day its an everyday Carry. I use it on the ranch out doors and with food sometimes. I have never owned a knife over 40 bucks. I love Gerber I love mossy and I also like buck . But I don't own one over 40$ and they work the same as these knifes plus they have warranties also . I think as a collection it's cool but to use them it's stupid for so much money
I have the Piranha Predator, Launch 7, and Buck 100 auto and can honestly say all are incredibly good knives.
I have no interest in seeing Ben's two knives.

Speaking of pocket clips, the pocket clip on the Launch 4 just might be the best placed and most beneficial of all the ones I have tried in this video. It is perfectly placed opposite of the button, being a small auto it gives good grip to have great control when opening!!

I carry the microtech utx-85 drop point combo edge as I find it to be the perfect edc multi role knife. Utility, elegance, defense. It’s close to the dimensions of a standard Swiss army camp knife and doesn’t scare the neighbors. It’s pricey for a cutting task knife but I’ve carried it almost every day for 3ish years without issues which means I’m paying about $0.30 a day for the privilege and it’s only getting cheaper
I ordered a Benchmade AFO tanto from you guys and I LOVE IT! Delivery was super fast and you guys beat Benchmades website price by 50$. I got it to replace my barrage. It’s nice as well but the valox handle just feels cheap.

And for anyone that is willing to spend a bit of money on a auto, id reccomend the Triage Auto (Benchmade). To me, I love the axis-lock switch, and the handle feels amazing in my hands, and seems to fit just right. Though for EDC, you probably want to get the drop ponit blade on it.

I’ve only had one auto open in my pocket and it was the Adamas. Got a nice slice out of my thumb so if you wear carpenter jeans and carry an axis lock auto use the lock.

I found an mtech halo v bootleg that has proven to be rock solid. I beat the hell out of it because I only paid a hundred bucks for it and that thing is great! Good quality steel, great action even after a year of abuse and it’s gorgeous! I honestly believe it might be as good or better than the original mtech.

Kershaw launch 6 I've had 2 so far open up in my pocket. I'd skip that one bleed a lot from going into my pocket only to hit the blade. The first one Kershaw wanted it back to see what was wrong with it. My sith Lord is by far a favorite by microtech but that first small boker is way nicer then you expect for the price.

My favorite EDC is my Hinderer XM 18 Spanto Jade G10. It is HARD to beat that knife. If the blade were butter knife dull , you could probably throw it at an attacker and take em down. In my life I've never held anything more ergonomic (what's important to me) and confidence inspiring. I hope Rick will introduce some in other steels. For 450 bucks....worth it.

you are correct the Gerber covert and mini covert are from the Gerber combat folder to fairburn Applegate combat folder which originally was a fixed blade boker knife designed by fairburn and Applegate or combat use so it's kind of a modern replacement for the old Gerber fairburn Sykes style fighting knife
My Boker Strike came with a defective lock. Im sure they’re not all like that, just a heads up for people looking to buy one. Not saying don’t get one, just saying just check your Strike for lock rock (up and down). It wasn’t just play, you could feel the blade moving the button lock out of place.
I think the reason why they have it where you push the release down in the back of the knife to close it is to keep some of the originality of the 110. I love that 110 automatic
