You guys asked for it, so here it is! How to Install an air intake on a civic! Been wanting to do this for a while and I love it! May get switched out eventually for a better one that goes below the engine bay, but for now this will do just fine. Leave a like/comment/subscribe for more if you enjoyed!

You mentioned you were leaving in the pipework under the fender to supply cold air to the new filter...unfortunately it’s dead weight and won’t supply air from the front of the car the part you grabbed @5:43 was the intake pipe providing air from the Bay Area down to the pipework under the fender (the resonator box which makes the intake quiet) and back up to the main airbox and onwards to the intake......the resonator box under the fender is pretty heavy plastic and can be removed either through the inner fender guard or remove the bumper just a couple of 10mm bolts hold it in place.
It would be nice to see a wire tuck / engine bay simplification kind of thing.

I looked through my air filter, couldn't see any air, so i replaced it, couldn't see any air through that one either, so I just left my air box empty.

The stock air box that sits behind the bumper doesn't suck any air in it just a box that recirculating air back into the air box. It's better to delete it all out.
The piece under the bumper is just a box it doesn't pull air from the bumper, that first little piece you pulled off is where the air is pulled from it goes from engine bay in that box to the intake.
Very cool mod! But it's actually a hot air intake, because it's not closed off. Also doing this to a stock vehicle can cause issues be cause it takes more air in than usual, can cause it to run wierd and may throw codes.
how does it take in more air ? lmao there's a device that takes in a certain amount.

not here but z is the perfect drift car, basically copy adam lz, my buddy has one and did everything but the oil coolers and did pbm instead of the wise fab but wise fab is better imo.

Actually those 2 things stop water from getting into your intake one side grabs the air goes down to a little box that will hold any water that get in there that has holes at the bottom for it to drain out of and the other side allows the air back in to the intake

You're not really going to notice a difference in sound at idle or while parked, wait until you're low in the rpm range and floor it...it's going to sound crazy at higher rpms...
4:44 that why my car not running right cause I can't see air threw it lol. The little things is what sets off a car look. That strut bar it self makes the engine bay look good even if you have a stock engine.
+DIVINE not sure if it does make a difference on an older Honda....I do know when installing a SRI or CAI you should disconnect the battery for 10mins. first to reset the ECU ...After intake installed reconnect battery & start up the car and let idle for another 5-10mins....Then go for a drive and some full throttle pulls to get the ECU to relearn the air amount...

I built my one for my best friend cousins acorrd I am 12 I just took the cone and took the air box then heated it up then shoved it on tighten the hose clamp

those pipes underneath the air intake, like the ones that bring cold air from outside the car to the cold air intake. Isn't a lot of water going to get in there when it rains? and is it bad or not? cus that's something I was a bit worried about
Here in California if your intake pipe doesn't have a carb number you better keep the old intake filter box.
My Ej2 b18b1 swapped has the stock ej2 box until get BAR it.

Scotty was right I installed the intake and that thing was all erratic idle going up and down!! Put everything back good to go!!!
@@rickyg4800 you need to disconnect your battery for like 30 seconds to reset your ecu and let it idle for 10 minutes then drive it for another 10 and it should be good to go

At least you can get one that's made for your car, I had to make mine from intercooler piping and no filter on my car, all because of the strut bar I got was for j spec and not US market.

What Do You Do Wit The Lines That Were Connected To The Valve Cover?
where did you relocate the hose that goes to stock intake from the valve cover?
Tucked it under the intake because it’s welded to another hose that I can’t remove
oh, i see. im about to get one but dont know where to put that hose lol
The other hose it’s welded to is a coolant line to your throttle body and if get yourself either the other half of that blue hose or some stock black hose you can just remove that metal pipe work completely and just put the spare section of hose from the one point to the other and use a couple of small hose clamps to secure it each end.....much cleaner looking....personally I would pop to an auto store and get a section of rubber hose rather than that soft silicone pipe and use that to replace both so it looks more oem.....plus I think either paint the intake white or look into hydro-dip you can buy kits to do it at home and hydro-dip some other parts as well 😉👍🏻
