The finger printing and photo are the most difficult part. I paid a guy to come to my house and he took care of everything. About 5 months later I had my approval. Thanks for the video and great job.
My Form 1 took 5 days from eForm to approved and done. They are fairly quick lately, I ha d a 6 day form 4 approval in May this year. Both are stupid things but I don't wanna go to Federal Pound You In Da Butt prison. For ARs there are good pistol brace options though.
Definitely no complaining on the quick approvals! I had two form 4's approved a couple months ago myself. One in 4 days and 6 days on the other. Super happy with that. I have another can waiting at my dealer now that I have to certify; curious how long this one will take
Technically speaking, there is only a marginal increase in performance/ability of an SBR over a pistol with a brace. Many folks opt out of the SBR due to that. For me, a positive thing about doing an SBR, is our state law regarding pistols. - They require all pistols to be carried in a waist or shoulder holster, or kept in a bag/purse/etc. This means if you have a pistol version of any caliber that is too large to meet the waist/shoulder requirement, then it has to be kept in a fully enclosed container, like a gun sheath. This means if you had say, a braced .300blk pistol, you could not carry it off your property. Even taking it to a gun range, it would have to be zipped up in a bag. An SBR however, has no such requirements. You can carry it openly in a non-threatening manner, or have it in the seat of your car, etc.... So the reality is, it is good to have both SBR's and Pistol's with braces. The SBR removes entanglement of requirements inside the state, while the braced pistols can be transported out of state, and you just have to be compliant like you do with any other handgun.
Holy hell, that's crazy. I actually used SS for my last form 1 because I didn't feel like running around to get prints and mail them out, and it got approved in 5 days. Yes, I would reach out to the ATF and see what the deal is
Im at 353 days for a form 4! I am beyond pissed! I Contacted my congressman various times some months back and nothing, no help whatsoever! Not to mention I live in a shall issue state. I also have a form 1 in and Im at 97 days for that. Both e filed as an individual no trust. Im super discouraged with the process and I don't see me doing any more tax stamps now with braces being back.
That's crazy and really sucks man! Both of my cans that were purchased a couple weeks apart in mid 2022 took 9 months to the day. When I bought my first can in 2012 I remember being pissed that it took 3 months (we gotta bo back!!). I just filed another eform 1 and I am interested to see how long this one takes
If the item is registered to an individual you are correct. If it is on a trust and you have trustees, they are able to go wherever they want (within the law) with your nfa item.
Yah fk all that. Aint worth it. Not jumping all thes hoops and legal non sense just for attaching a stock to a pistol upper. Especially when u have 13.7 and 14.5 pin and welds. But great video for those that do wanna jump thru all these hurdles to do it.
Not for everyone, but these days it's so much easier than it used to be. It's less effort than getting a gun permit or a drivers license these days. I'm not happy about it, but it's not hard at all.

Appreciate it sir!

...fixin' to file a Form 1 on a lower...like you, I have no desire to go to the 'big house'
I have a form 1 e form on SS its been about 7 1/2 months, would you suggest keep waiting or reach out?

At 8 months, I would follow up with the ATF. As of 2024, you're in the bottom 20% as far as wait times go, especially for an eForm.
@@kennykash6089 they finally approved it. 11 months..... smh

....you hafta be with the person using your NFA item when they're using ('in possession') of said item...

As of February 9 2024 you can still own a pistol brace.
I'm aware. I'm just not a fan of them

It's not for everyone, that's for sure
