So I first bought the iPad Pro 11 but was really tempted by the iPad mini so I returned the iPad Pro for the mini and didn’t want to look back. I really liked the mini and was ready for this to be my baby for years to come but after a few days I realized that it’s just too small for me for what I do daily so I went back to the iPad Pro 11. This was tough for me but I ended up making the right choice and even tho I’ll miss the portability of the mini 6 I’m happy with my iPad Pro
I’m an illustrator and do the majority of my work on the iPad Pro. I also have the iPad Mini 6 which I also use for drawing on a smaller scale. I find the iPad Mini with Centre Stage perfect for FaceTime which is perfect for me as I live in NZ and many of my family are overseas. The iPad Mini is also great for watching You Tube and browsing the internet. I use the Apple Pencil all of the time on both devices.👍Good video and good luck with your choice.
I take notes on the Pro 11” but want to use the Mini for note taking with customers and in my office. Will I notice a big difference Apple Pencil on 11 vs Mini?
The mini wasn’t out yet when I got the 11 inch iPad Pro, but I don’t regret getting this at all. I like to have my pictures and videos on the device. Some people are content with the cloud and so a lesser amount of storage would work for them. But I needed and wanted a terabyte. I wanted the extra ram to be future proof . And when I saw that they put the M1 chip in I was sold. As an older lady, my eyesight requires the larger screen and the mini, though I love it because of its portability, just wouldn’t work for me. I am one of those scorned people who use my iPad to take pictures often, so this excellent camera, which also takes macro shots, (and has a flash which the air does not have) was just the thing.
Hi, I got a mini 6 and used it for three weeks. However, I then thought that I would try the Pro 11inch mainly because of the larger screen and M1 chip. After a week I am going back to the Mini 6. Sure the pro is brilliant but I mainly use my iPad for content watching and I find it heavy and hard to hold for extended periods of time. Not bothered about promotion as I have never had it so it matters little to me. Even though it has four speakers the stereo speakers on the mini are very good.
I have both & I’m keeping both. The 11 is not much bigger than the Mini … stop sticking things all over the Pros and they won’t be heavy. The Mini, i take with me to off site research … it fits in anything. The Pro, I use for the larger screen in finalizing documents, artwork, etc.
I got an 11” M1 iPad Pro and settled for the 64gb iPad Mini 5. Despite being both iPads, I actually have different use cases for the iPad Mini. Most of my notes and files are on my Pro, then I take my mini with me when I’m on the go or have to work a 24 hour shift at the hospital
I feel like you're reading my mind because this is exactly the dilemma I'm also having between these two. I previously used an iPad 2 and an iPad mini (1st gen). And while they're internally the same, I fell in love with the iPad mini's form factor. It was the perfect iPad size for me. My purchase decision has been made difficult, particularly by the storage options. It's a shame that there isn't a 128GB offering for the 6th gen mini. If I were to choose the 256GB variant, I can just choose the 128GB 11" Pro while also having the ProMotion display which is a nicety that I wish to have. But just as you indicated in your video and as an M1 MBA owner already, an iPad is supposed to be a fun complementary device. I think I'll lean towards the mini 6 for now as the iPad Pro 11" is obviously due for a refresh now that the Air is creeping closer to Pro territory with the M1 chip in it.
@@jessekhachh mostly due to the fact that 64GB is paltry in this day and age. i’d like to use my iPad mainly as an entertainment device and one game I’m playing, Call of Duty Mobile, is already taking up 15GB of overall space on my 256GB 12 Pro Max. i also prefer to save all my Photos locally instead of just thumbnails stored on device since I’m not always within reach of a Wi-Fi/Cellular connection.
Totally agree. I sold my 12.9 m1 ipad pro as I was ultimately using it for netflix and youtube, while my intention was to edit videos and photos which quite honestly, mini can also do. 64gb seems like nuisance but thats expected from Apple. I am more inclined to purchase the ipad mini as a suppliment to my m1 mac
I really want to take my ipad 12.9 to university but it's difficult for the screen size is HUGE for me so... that's why I decided to buy this iPad mini, it's perfect...now I can do what ever I want and wherever I want for example I'm a illustrator so I need to draw continually... I feel happy now
My quick & dirty contribution on how I use and why I like my Mini - (used with MBA & iPhone Pro) AMAZINGLY this iPad still works very well with very few glitches - even after having dropped this device innumerable # of times while traveling without fail. Of course the battery is not up to scratch but as I use it mainly in my Van Conversion or Hot Hatch etc - there is always a USB plug nearby. Off course it is slow - but not excrutiatingly slow. I have recently two sided taped a metal ring (MagSafe magnet compatible without the charge) so when the Mini is in Sidecar mode it works on the multiple magsafe magnets I have in the van. I will definitely wait & buy the Mini 7 when it comes out real SOON!?! The Mini is simply a great portable high performance device that sits between an iPhone & MBA. It is complimentary and is an essential device (for me when traveling) doing the tasks described above. I would NOT even consider any other iPad. The large variety of productivity & entertainment uses for the Mini demonstrates how versatile it can be for so many people. Master of Nun - But Good at a lot of stuff - Fine by me!!! I use my Mini exclusively when I "TRAVEL" - to do the following: (otherwise it sits in a drawer). 55% - as a GPS unit mounted to a RAM mount in my vehicles.- the best GPS "EVER"! I downloaded the "Navigon" app (a Garmin app) and spent $60 for all North American Map Data. This App has not been updated for 5 years now - but still works just fine - some newest roads are not displayed but who gives a Flying F (the iPhone fills the gap). That's after over 200K miles of road trips. FYI - lots of pilots use the Mini for realtime in-flight information 40% - as a Sidecar or screen mirroring when viewing YT & movies - it is mounted to a MagSafe style magnet stand. 4% - as an eReader 1% - miscellaneous tasks. This usage distribution may change when I buy the 7 - a/w the pencil - time will tell... I will certainly wait & buy the new Mini 7 when it comes out real SOON!?! The Mini is simply a great portable high performance device that sits between an iPhone & MBA. It is complimentary and is an essential device (for me when traveling) doing the tasks described above. I would NOT even consider any other iPad.
I bought a iPad mini 6 after many years of iPad 10.9.. and I love it because it is so good with the Apple Air M1.. I think it is about choices eheh Thank you so much for your video! I am a fellow TH-camr with my own channel and I do understand how important is to help each other. So I subscribed to your channel to help you but also because I really enjoyed your video 🙏
this video is exactly what i need to know now, i will buy an ipad mini 6 after watching this. I just want to use for taking note and studying language, no need a big screen but easy handing everywhere
something to note is that, if you have both the ipad and the macbook, you can use the ipad as a second screen. I was coffeeshop coding with the combo for a year and change and loved it
@@serkanbic With both. I originally used the first ipad pro 11" like that. I now have a new mini, and it does work but I personally only use the mini for Teams or Discord since the screen is smaller.
@@serkanbic Yes I do. My pro was stolen on a business trip so once I was ready to buy anither I decided to try the mini. Depending on what youre doing, the mini is fantastic. For me, the Pro was better as a second screen and better when doing IT/coding things (I would use it to remote into servers to respond and troubleshoot when not at my computer). Besides that, I like the mini. I write content on it, use split screen, edit videos, and play some games on it all at the same or better experience than the Pro. I use Google Sheets often, too, and it is a similar experience on both. The only thing the Pro has on the mini is the extra screen real estate
Just ordered the 256gb mini with cellular. Apple increased trade in values this weekend so the 12.9 ipad pro is being traded. I’m pretty sure i won’t regret it. Will stick with macbook air when need keyboard
I sold my M1 12.9 iPad and switched to the IPad mini with cellular no regrets . I do hope next generation mini will include oled or mini led display , Face ID which I do miss , 120hz and last a M1 or M2 which ever apple decide .
Can you please tell me, what is the name or brand of your bag that you putted your iPad into? It looked so sleek 😮 I know this video is 2 years old, but hoping you’ll reply
So many people get the iPad 11 then add the heavy Magic Keyboard. If you just get the Smart Folio keyboard it is extremely lightweight and functional, just lose the trackpad and extra USB C port. Super light, protected, and functional.
Mimi all the way! Had mine for 3 weeks and love it. Fantastical, Noteshelf, and Things. Those and my daily reading just check all the boxes for me. I sling hotspot from my iPhone when needed and have no issues.
Hi! This helped me gain so much more perspective on the iPad mini, i was thinking of getting the iPad 10th or the mini solely on the price but when i look at my needs (i really want to start editing videos easily than sitting in front of my Macbook Pro or using all my storage on my iPhone, so i’m looking for an in between of these two) now i’m beginning to think the mini might be the best choice without paying for an iPad pro because i already have my Macbook Pro. I love to create content and i would love an easier way for me to approach doing all of that. Do you think the ipad mini would be the best choice? (And i don’t mind the small size since my hands are pretty small! )
LOL day 3 with my new 11" pro... back and fingers hurt, and i always forget to full screen youtube because the screens is too big already 😂 hopefully a new mini gets announced soon
I I don’t think that the choice is between the Mini and the Pro as much as it it between the Mini and the IPhone. I have the Mini with cellular, and iphone, and a pro (2018) and use the Mini in conjunction with or in place of the iphone a lot more than between it and the Pro. Sometimes you’re on the pro and need to import a signature, or scan something into a document, that’s where the Mini shines. The pro is meant to be an “almost” Mac and the Mini is supposed to be an “almost” iphone.
I gave iPad pro 12.9 to my daughter and I usimg iPad mini 6 and MacBook… I love my 12.9 but Mini is so mana advantages… It become my second dev after Mobile… iPad mini is portable and the best
Honestly I needed something to write emails for work that isn’t the iPhone when I’m not lugging around my 16” MacBook Pro. The mini makes my life so much easier with the keyboard. If you don’t have a MacBook Pro 💻 already the iPad pro might be beneficial to you, unless you’re predominately an illustrator.
I bought both to try them out. iPad mini 6 for $400 iPad Pro 2021 open box for $600 For $200 more , bigger screen, M1, 128gb, promotion. And yet I’m still on the fence. The mini 6 is just a nice size to hold. It’s so light.
One is a productivity device [11 or 12.9] and another one is a media device [mini 6] I have the mini 6 and pro 12.9, and after a month, I don’t use the mini 6 anymore because it’s too small for my large hands and the promotion is a deal breaker
@6:50 the development of software is usually better supported on iPads than Macs ironically. Though with M1 perhaps we'll see more app developers make their apps available on MacOS store
I hate iPads Aspect Ratio. That's literally the only reason I still use my Galaxy Tab S7 even though I'm on Apple Ecosystem for everything else. I think I might get the Mini 6 just because it's better than all other mini android tablets, and the aspect ratio is a bit better than the Mini 5 and previous.
I have the iPad Pro with 512 Gb, and I have almost full storage. I would get the mini. Keep in mind the iPad mini has only 60hz compared to 120hz on the iPad pro, not a big issue though.
I trying to figure out to get an iPhone 14 pro or the mini or the iPad Pro. Only for social media platforms and notes ect for business. I main with the Hp spectre x360 for heavy use
I'm a student and need something for notes and ebook, I'm looking at the mini 6 but the problem is walmart sells the refurb pro 11 once in a while for 599.
In comparison of the 11" iPad to a MacBook, I would say that the huge benefit of the iPad is that if it's cellular, you can remotely access your MacBook or any other computer wherever you go. I am able to access my PC that's at home from my iPad at a park for work, which is extremely beneficial.
The display on the mini (the lack of pro motion and no oled or mini led) is a huge issue for me. It’s a downgraded experience unfortunately. Especially after being used to the pro
I have the IPad Pro 11 2018 and use it to take notes with the Apple Pencil more than I use the keyboard. Why is the Pencil experience not as good on the iPad mini?
Great video and explaining. Why Im going for a bigger iPad screen: I have an iPad air 2 thats 4,5 years old and using it every day. I have a TV, Apple tv, ps5 and iPhone 13 mini, but no computer/laptop, thats why Im going a little big for an iPad Pro 11 maybe, Its like for those who have a MacBook/pc don’t feel the need for a big screen iPad cause they have an MacBook or something anyway. I belive thats how people think in some ways right ?😅 By typing this make me think about my little bro, the only tech he had for years is huge tv and iPhone 🙂
If ipad is 10.5", I will choose it without hesitation. But 8.3" or 11" is f**king a Century Puzzle. I dont know why Apple make 11“ that such a awkward size whinth 8.3" and 12.9".
I have just ordered the iPad mini 6 because my bag is always full of things, laptop, an iPad Pro 12.9 inch, files, water bottle, sandwich box etc…it’s too heavy. When my iPad mini 6 arrives I will be leaving my iPad Pro 12.9 inch at home….I can then breathe.
I have a MacBook Pro and haven’t been able to decide on the IPad Mini or IPad Pro. I had the old iPad mini and used it all the time. Until I couldn’t- And then I got the gen 1 iPad Pro and really enjoyed it as well but since it was such a big spec bump I never compared the two. Now between the new Mini and Pro- I can’t pick. Based on what I need it for, I think the Mini could do it all and be super portable but the Pro will be great for many years to come… I’ve wrestled with this decision for about a week now 😂 It would be between iPad Mini 256 GB or MacBook Pro 128 GB. The price difference is about 130,000 KRW. ((I’m in Korea)) I keep watching different reviews in hopes of swaying my decision but it just keeps me teetering on the fence.
I want mini with mini led 120hz m2 CPU so bad, even if it would be thicker and 2 thunderbolt ports or 1 thunderbolt, 1 USBC and also waterproof with same chases size but bigger display pleas please please :DD

Same here! Bought both on sale: Mini 6 256gb: 800$ Pro 2021 11inch 128gb: 950$ I wanted the Mini and the Pro was for my parents. I like the portability of the Mini, but this is its only advantage over the Pro... which is an important advantage. I’m really undecided cause I cannot justify the price tag for the Mini. It’s 150$ difference for a bigger and better screen, better stereo, better chip and better camera. I don’t need 256gb, but I don’t wanna regret getting the “just enough” 64gb. I literally can’t decide. I wish there was a 128gb Mini... I need help lol

@@Jra362 Is my comment not understandable to you?
@@sajj1639 I’m a adult so my needs are going to be different but for a child it shouldn’t matter
How is it the mini and in battery and gameing and in edit
Great comparison video. You answered all of the questions I had. Thank you!
Just out of curiosity what do you keep on your iPad that warrants the higher storage option? I agree that 64gb is unreasonably small in 2022 though
I feel happy now
My quick & dirty contribution on how I use and why I like my Mini - (used with MBA & iPhone Pro)
AMAZINGLY this iPad still works very well with very few glitches - even after having dropped this device innumerable # of times while traveling without fail.
FYI - lots of pilots use the Mini for realtime in-flight information
40% - as a Sidecar or screen mirroring when viewing YT & movies - it is mounted to a MagSafe style magnet stand.
4% - as an eReader
1% - miscellaneous tasks.
I think it is about choices eheh

I have both but I love the mini more now due to portability
something to note is that, if you have both the ipad and the macbook, you can use the ipad as a second screen. I was coffeeshop coding with the combo for a year and change and loved it
with pro or mini?
@@serkanbic With both. I originally used the first ipad pro 11" like that. I now have a new mini, and it does work but I personally only use the mini for Teams or Discord since the screen is smaller.
@@scottgarber8046 tnx for the reply. Do you have mini?
Hi what's your experience with the mini now
@@blashomin Hi, I love it but i do find it more difficult as a notebook with the apple pencil in the office. I use it so much each day. D
I have the ipad pro 11 2020 and I’m planning on taking the mini not replacing but keeping them both
Did you get the mini 6 and if so how’s it been ? Are you using one more than the other?
imagine all ipad pro feature available on ipad mini.. damn, with that portable size, it would be a game changer..
So many people get the iPad 11 then add the heavy Magic Keyboard. If you just get the Smart Folio keyboard it is extremely lightweight and functional, just lose the trackpad and extra USB C port. Super light, protected, and functional.
pretty good video. you enlighten me and thats how i felt with my ipad pro and mac air m1. thank you
Thanks for this…glad to know I’m not alone in this pickle!
(And i don’t mind the small size since my hands are pretty small! )
As a student i totaly agree. The ipad mini 6 never really worked for me due to it's lack of screen.

Probably you realize this in hindsight, but the volume on this video is really low. Thanks for making the comparisons!
This is funny I own both of these. Two different use cases that’s for sure.
Great review, thanks.
I bought both to try them out.
iPad mini 6 for $400
iPad Pro 2021 open box for $600
For $200 more , bigger screen, M1, 128gb, promotion.
And yet I’m still on the fence. The mini 6 is just a nice size to hold. It’s so light.
All the engineering, design, brain work that went into developing the Apple Pencil… and the most meaningful use of it for some people… 📝 👾😂
One is a productivity device [11 or 12.9] and another one is a media device [mini 6]
I have the mini 6 and pro 12.9, and after a month, I don’t use the mini 6 anymore because it’s too small for my large hands and the promotion is a deal breaker
Do you think if the mini gets pro motion it would change your mind?
I disagree entirely the mini is not at all just a media device.
the refresh rate on the mini doesn't wow me, I would prefer the pro just for the smoother display
I think I might get the Mini 6 just because it's better than all other mini android tablets, and the aspect ratio is a bit better than the Mini 5 and previous.
iPad Mini 6 is very portable and easy to use. Original apple case and pencil will make our workflows very simple.

In comparison of the 11" iPad to a MacBook, I would say that the huge benefit of the iPad is that if it's cellular, you can remotely access your MacBook or any other computer wherever you go. I am able to access my PC that's at home from my iPad at a park for work, which is extremely beneficial.

Why Im going for a bigger iPad screen:
I have an iPad air 2 thats 4,5 years old and using it every day. I belive thats how people think in some ways right ?😅
By typing this make me think about my little bro, the only tech he had for years is huge tv and iPhone 🙂
You can get it with cellular, the whole reason I had an upgraded my iPhone is because I have a cellular mini 6
just want to know is 500nits is weak. is mini 6 screen visually darker than 11pro?
If ipad is 10.5", I will choose it without hesitation.
But 8.3" or 11" is f**king a Century Puzzle. I dont know why Apple make 11“ that such a awkward size whinth 8.3" and 12.9".

I have a MacBook Pro and haven’t been able to decide on the IPad Mini or IPad Pro. I had the old iPad mini and used it all the time. Until I couldn’t-
And then I got the gen 1 iPad Pro and really enjoyed it as well but since it was such a big spec bump I never compared the two.
Now between the new Mini and Pro- I can’t pick. Based on what I need it for, I think the Mini could do it all and be super portable but the Pro will be great for many years to come… I’ve wrestled with this decision for about a week now 😂
It would be between iPad Mini 256 GB or MacBook Pro 128 GB.
The price difference is about 130,000 KRW. ((I’m in Korea)) I keep watching different reviews in hopes of swaying my decision but it just keeps me teetering on the fence.

Why can’t apple make a 9” Ipad pro, it would be the perfect size, I went from the 9.7” Ipad to the 12.9”pro to the 11”pro, the 11” is still to big imo

Same here! Bought both on sale:
Mini 6 256gb: 800$
Pro 2021 11inch 128gb: 950$
I wanted the Mini and the Pro was for my parents.
