Your conclusion said it best. The iPad mini is the last true iPad. It doesn't try to compete with a laptop. It's there to compliment it along with your phone. Just like Steve Jobs' original vision back in 2010.
I bought one as an upgrade from a mini 4. I don’t understand the hatred for the tablet with some You tubers out there. Not everyone wants an M4 chip in a huge screen that will not fit in a pocket. Doctors and small plane pilots are two examples that spring to mind. This fits the gap between my iPhone 13 and my Mac. Plus, I get the chip for Apple Intelligence without having to pay more money to upgrade my phone.
either they (imagine) replacing the mini with each model instead of every other/third gen, or they expect a mini-pro that would be 2k and so powerful nobody could find use for the performance
People love to complain. $499 is a very small amount of money in the Apple world and in the 2024 inflation ridden economy. People thinking it should have every option the pro iPad have is very ignorant.
My two biggest gripes with this iPad is that there is no 120 Hz refresh and No SIM tray. Other than that, the iPad mini is just an iPad, nothing more. The iPad mini is perfect due to the current state of iPadOS.
Back in 2021, I got an iPad 11" from my job and kept it when I left the company. Although super grateful, it was honestly too big and heavy for me, so I never really used it. I just wanted something with the portability of an Amazon Kindle, with better performance. I have small hands (and, I guess, weak arms :D :D ), and reading or watching shows while on-the-go was tiring after a while with the 11" Pro. I finally got the iPad Mini this week, and I'm loving it. For what I use it for-gaming/note-taking/reading/media-it's so great. It fits into my little bag (the Kånken sling) or even in a jacket pocket. It's the perfect extension of my current Apple ecosystem by complementing what I have instead of trying to replace it. Does that make sense? I always had the feeling the 11/12.9" iPads were being used by others as a laptop replacement. I never really understood that.
I done a huge Day in the Life video with the iPad Mini 7 that’s blew up amazingly, all edited on my Mini 7 with Lumia Fusion with all the different cuts, effects, scenes and music being added, loads of dragging and dropping and it handled it all flawlessly.
I want a phone this big. I’m addicted to Internet Archive and reading on a 15 Pro + just doesn’t cut it. This is the size of a tried and true paperback
I agree. I own an iPad Air Gen 5 (M1 chip) and an iPad Mini Gen 5. For my daily usage, I tend to reach for my iPad mini over my Air soley for the form factor. It's compact and lighter than the air. It really depends on what you use it for. I mainly use it for reading and watching videos as mention in this video haha. It's a really good in between form factor. And it is a fully functioning OS compared to e-readers which helps if you like reading comics or manga with colour. I intend to use it for light photo editing when I get the mini 7. It's powerful enough to support it. The mini really is an under appreciated powerhouse depending on your needs. It's definitely an upgrade from the mini 5 but if you are coming from a mini 6, I don't see the point unless u want apple intelligence in my opinion.
Upgrading from the Mini 6 doesn’t really make sense, but if there’s any new iPad Mini buyers, this is probably a good time to buy considering Apple’s release cycles. After using the Mini, the Air/Pro just seems massive haha.
@@jessekhachh Completely agree. I have been a daily carry of an iPad Pro 12.9 with a Magic Keyboard. I didn’t realize how bulky and heavy they were until I got my iPad Mini 7th Generation
iPad mini 7 won't charge my third-party pencil. My mini 6 does, so I know it's not the pencil. My 7 will pair with it. It allows me to write. I shows battery level. It won't charge it, unless I plug in a USB-C to USB-C. Took it to the Genius bar and they shrugged. I'm so glad I upgraded.
Well, I gona keep my iPad mini 6 for now, I bought it at launch back in time, and use it in many different occasion, however as a travel companinion it is awesome, in addition Microsoft have worked closely with apple for years so the Office 365 works completely flawlessly, which makes my work life far easier and ofcource my privately life too.
It really depends on what you’re looking for. The Mini and Pro are a bit difficult to compare as they are in different leagues. If you really value the portability of the Mini and don’t need any of the nice-to-haves, then it makes sense!
USB-C pencil is my pencil of choice for this iPad. The pencilpro has too much going on with the squeeze gesture and barrel roll. If you’re just taking notes, you don’t need the pro features. I have both pencils and I’m always using the USB-C one on my iPad Pro. Probably gonna get a second one if I get this Mini.
Why can’t they just add the iPad mini in the iPad AIR and iPad PRO line up? You know, rename them the iPad AIR Mini/ iPad AIR/ iPad AIR MAX (8.3/11/12.9 inch respectively) Same for the PRO’s, Ipad PRO mini/ iPad PRO/ iPad PRO MAX? It’s just much simpler than naming a tablet the iPad PRO 11 ich or something. Make it simple!
Bought it and Returned it so fast. The form factor is great really was a great size, so great I hesitated a bit. but then I quickly snapped out of it… the screen is so bad. Like if you view a black screen with display on it’s not even around the edges. Backlight bleed on a $500 device. Trash (literally leftover) binned A17 Pros. 500 nit brightness and 60hz. No thanks.
Poor display, too much wasted space on Home Screen, jelly scrolling is still there and poor WiFi compared to my Samsung Z Flip 6. Battery life is improved but that’s not saying much. Lazy upgrade by Apple but we’re used to that.
Yeah the upgrades on the display were minimal at best but at the very least Apple updated it to cater to modern needs. Meanwhile Samsung has been absent on the high end compact tablet space for nearly a decade and instead they want people to buy their overpriced Folds (that cost more than 3x the iPad Mini) to get a comparable experience 😂
@@Toyeboy89 you must be a boomer or completely stranger to technology. Because apple overprices everything with huge net margins that doesn’t mean that is the real cost . You can buy for instance nothing phone 2a with 120 hz for 250 dollars . Your points would be valid if we were in the 2010s. Another example is apple iPad Pro 10.5 which since 2017 has 120 hz . Your are welcome .
I know, that’s called a business making money on their products. They have put more into their small tablet than anyone else is willing to. The expense of the A17 pro all the fast storage and 8GB RAM are all also an active stylus. But the software is the best and most valuable part of the iPad mini.
Doesn't worth the money. Thick bezel, thick body, display quality is scrap.. there is no reason why you need one if you've already owned the iPhone Pro Max

Many of them do not look through the lens of an ‘average consumer’ anymore
My two biggest gripes with this iPad is that there is no 120 Hz refresh and No SIM tray. Other than that, the iPad mini is just an iPad, nothing more. The iPad mini is perfect due to the current state of iPadOS.
I'm also considering it as an upgrade from a mini 4. My only complaint, which applies to other ipads, is that I wish it had a oled display.

Just upgraded from the 2019 5th Gen. Really complements my iPhone 13 Mini.
Thanks for the content.
Thank you for the sharing, I'm actually like the Mini version for a long time. Now with the Mini 7, I see this is my best choice for small tablet

I have a galaxy s24u and a macbook air, the mini 7 perfectly sits in between. Just love it.
this made me want mini
Likewise!
Did you get it? How is the experience?
hi veronica
"Minimalistic tendencies" Lists 5 devices he has.
I’m watching this on my iPad mini 6 I’m considering getting the 7
Prob not worth upgrading
I want a phone this big. I’m addicted to Internet Archive and reading on a 15 Pro + just doesn’t cut it. This is the size of a tried and true paperback
I mean, there are phones this size. They are called foldable phones
Loving the mini

I just got one on Monday, still coming to terms with its quirks between my mini 4 but settling in nicely. Well pleased
I’m getting one
does it support external display & stage manager?
Yes on external display. No on Stage Manager
I love the new iPad mini 7
Traded in my mini 4 for the new mini 7 and it does what I need so no complaints.
I sold my pro and I found it was to hard to type on and to large to carry round so I’ve ordered the mini
How do you get your biceps like that? 😮
What's thre bicep workout tho?
I just purchased one. I do have an iPad Pro 12.9 which will
Mostly at home and take care of my heavy duty processes. The iPad mini will be my edc.
Hello, where can I find that moon and astronaut wallpaper?
It’s the same as the mini 6. Most people use it as a consumption tool, no need for it to be any faster.
I love the iPad Mini 7.
Double the ram and storage with a 30% faster processor than the 6 Mini. It's an easy decision especially with all the trade in deals.
How did you get that screen saver??
I've got 11 inch pro but still looking for a portable one
I want to see a mini Apple Pencil Pro for the iPad mini and even the Iphone
The bezels are disturbing.

Whats the 3rd party pencil you use for ipad mini ?
Nice review
Glad you enjoyed it!!

Love both the iPad mini 7 and your biceps
Nice video
Is It worth to change my iPad Pro m2 for this one due to portability ? Or m2 is way better

I just cannot stand 60hz and dim screen. I am waiting for similar form factor android pad "WITH CELLULAR"
Yea, the 60 hz was my deal breaker
I love my ipad mini 7
Does it still have “Jelly scrolling” issue?
It technically does, but it does seem a little bit fixed. I haven’t noticed it in my personal day to day use.
Yes it does and the main reason I am returning mine… my eyes were so fatigued 😢trying to use it

Why get a second pencil u already got one lol
Random question, but how do you like using YNAB?
I love it. I’ve been using it for years now! Kind of difficult to get used to but once you got it it’s really good.
All the used cases can be done flawlessly on ipad mini 6 as well. This is indeed a power house but ipad mini 6 is not slouch either. Save money❤
Definitely! iPad Mini 6 is still a great device, but if you love to buy new this is a great time :)
can it handle my excessive pokemon go playing??

Not worth the upgrade without an oled screen. Refresh rate is nice but an lcd screen in 2024 that’s just egregious. Apple can shove it.
nobody put a tablet in their pocket like on thumbnail.

Nah. 120hz in 2024 is NOT a pro feature, its a basic necesity and Apple getting away with it cause of people like you.
The perfect ripp off. Come on man 500 plus dollars for starting option with 60 HZ and a screen from 2010s? Terrible video review
Got that right. It’s hardy and upgrade.
Apple sells $799 60hz iPhones so how could you expect 120hz on a $499 tablet?

old screen , new chip , new type c = new ipad, trash apple
