Great video, love how much love Emerald hunting gets from the MKP. I´m not sure but I think if you use the move memento instead of explosion it makes the hunt a tiny bit faster as you will never ko Sudo and wont damage it. I found out about that years after I got my sudo from Emerald tho lol.

I actually hatched a random shiny tauros yesterday while breeding one for the battle frontier, and I couldn't believe my luck! Definitely will give shiny breeding on that save file another try

Die kampfpyramid shiny hunts sind zwar nicht so einfach, die chance aber 6×31 pokemon zu erwischen is extrem hoch ! Das ist so weil es nie gedacht war die beaster zu fangen und ich finds so geil wie es einfach wege gibt diesen rotz zu umgehen einfach weil es so eklig ist diese unfangbar zu machen obwohl es so schwer ist die kampfpyramide zu bestehen . Habe dort schon ein shiny gengar und ein lapras gefangen beide mit flawless stats ✌. Sehr geiles video btw
Awesome Video ! I just want to mention that you can also hunt Kecleon with the method you talked about to hunt Sudowoodo in the video instead of reseting it on Ruby or Sapphire ! His shiny sprite and his animation are insane on Emerald and I wonder if the sparkles appear when he is vanishing or not ! Good luck for your hunt !

My first shiny ever was a Lairon I found in victory road. I did not know what a shiny was at the time, but was surprised by the different colors. The Lairon used roar which sucked, but I didn't think much on it. Then when I got Fire Red, I caught a shiny Larvitar, again not knowing it was shiny. Given that my 2nd favorite mon is Ttar, and Aggron is also on my favorites list, its awesome to imagine I encountered such amazing and rare pokemon as a kid. Love Pokemon very much
I caught a shiny Aron in Victory Road entirely by chance, too, as well as a shiny Elektrike while I was EVing, and then after that a shiny Wailmer while I was fishing for Luvdiscs for Heart Scales. I keep a stock of cloned Master Balls in case I run into any.
My favorite hunt was shiny Mew which I did 4 times! I had a blast hunting Mew and the strategy that I did for Mew. And my recent shiny I did was Shiny Deoxys on my Japanese Emerald.
Will definetly try to hunt some of these after i'm done with Raquaza, Emerald's shiny hunting has always been interesting for me so seeing potential future hunt ideas is always great

Good point! I actually learned and found out about this couple of weeks after uploading this video. Very cool that English Emerald versions also have a way without cheating devices to access the event locations!
Congratulations on finding those great shiny mythicals! And yeah, deoxys in Emerald is a bit more tedious compared to FRLG. But for that, you can unlock it without cheats which is quite cool!
The only shiny I ever encountered was a whismur. My friend gifted me sapphire version for my 10th birthday. I didn't know what shines were at the time, so I thought it was a glitch. My friend convinced me to trade it to him to get rid of the "glitch". Still salty about it but still the best of friends today 20 years later!
The two Lati@s and the Wishmaker Jirachi are actually the only 3 Pokemon that are not huntable in Emerald (Lati@s because you're forced to watch the TV after E4 and Wishmaker Jirachi because the Colosseum bonus disc can only distribute to Ruby/Sapphire). But all others are very great choices!

Very interesting and worthy hunts to try out! I already planned to do the johto starters, mew and deoxys but now, the pyramid got me intreeged and, I find hilarious the fishing close to Kyogre and Groundon, lol. Speaking of which, I'm currently hunting the weather trio. Got Rayquaza at almost 20k RAs and as I'm writing this Kyogre is at 12.8k, all in one system rip :/ I didn't know about the hiker one, it could be a nice chilling side hunt as we take a break from our main ones. Thank you for the ideas and nice job in putting all this together :)
Nice vid, great tips. IMHO at least a honorable mention should be trapinch with 50% encounter rate in mirage tower, you just need a flyer or smoke ball to avoid arena trap.
Those are way longer in XD tho, taking around 3-4 minutes per reset. Most people would prefer a ~35 second reset in Emerald I'd assume. But yes, it's def possible!
Thanks to this video, I went for the shiny mew hunt and I got it thanks so much for the recommendation. Got my mew in 4873 resets so nice and under odds.

Just a quick question since I'm a beginner in emerald Shunt: I am currently on Mew with the run away method and I just need some clarification; do you still need to record a battle video at the end of a session when doing run away method on static legendaries? Cuz I thought I had to and have been doing it for a while now, but I'm starting to realize I might be wrong.....
Thank you! And good question, Mew is a little special because in theory, you can either do Run Aways OR the battle video method. In most tutorials or guides for Mew it's always just talked about Run Aways, because it's just so much faster that the BV method doesn't really makes sense (except you prefer that method specifically). If I understand you correctly, you're doing a combination of Run Aways and BV, which is not necessary. You can either do just Run Aways, or you use the BV method and do soft resets. I hope that helps and good luck on your hunt!✨
@@OliverMKP also, just to make sure I fully understand, when you do a hunting session with the run away method, the next time you restart the game for another session, there will be absolutely no chance to encounter one of the same spawns from before, like it could happen with regular random encouters? Cuz you know with the way the seed works etc. Like if I leave and re-enter the map, the game will ALWAYS load a truely random spawn of mew (or whatever static mon), independently from the starting seed and current frame?
@@sophisticatedwatermelon3596 Yes. As long as you keep the game running, the game generates more and more different (shiny-) frames. Obviously there is a super small chance that you sometimes hit a frame you've already hit a couple of hunting sessions ago, since the seed always goes back to 0 after resetting/restarting. That's why it's recommended to have decently long enough hunting sessions when hunting in Emerald. At least 1 hour is recommended to bring the risk down to a minimum of encountering the same frames from previous hunting sessions.
I love the johto starter sprites in emerald. I remember all I wanted to do was complete my Pokédex so I could get a tododile. It took forever and I finally got it. Then it got chewed up by our dog… I wish I could find a legit copy of emerald again.

Funny enough I wanted a charmader and my sis had FireRed. She breeded her starter for me and gave me one of her eggs for me to hatch. Since it was a starter Pokémon I wanted to hatch it on Route 101 just like where I got my starter Treeko, when it finally hatched I didn’t noticed anything strange about it till I looked at its info in the party and saw that it was yellow! I didn’t know why it looked like that at the time but it’s pretty special to me since it was hatched from my first save file when I started Pokémon and I’ve had it since. [it’s a Quiet nature btw!] And thanks to the Gen3 cloning glitch I can keep him in my Gen3 game and continue having adventures with it in every new installment since 😊

Yeah many players didn't complete the regional dex so they probably haven't seen the Johto starters. And masuda method is just a method that changes the odds. Since you don't have this method in Emerald, it means that all eggs have a standard 1/8192 chance to be shiny. Congratulations on shiny Eevee!!✨

Now I got to figure out whether to risk corrupting save file by transferring to pokemon stadium (are you aware of the odds of this corruption occurring?) or attempting to buy that gb file save thing again (wouldn't take gift cards. So weird). Also I thought itnwas impossible to get shiny eggs unless you had foreign parent

You already know that my favourites are the Charmander egg hunt and the Charizard battle pyramid hunt and that I will do them as well. But I am also eventually going for the Mew - and maybe also Bagon, because I really like how it looks like in Emerald - and well, it's a dragon type.

Just got shiny Mew last night thanks to this video. Took only 4 and a half hours (a break was taken in between). Can't say Deoxys is very fun due to you needing to do the triangle puzzle each time though.

Unfortunately the 100% repel for Wailord only works in Ruby, not in sapphire or Emerald because the level range is different for Wailord. But even without repel, beautiful target for sure!
You can also get the aurora ticket semi legitimately if you buy a cheap fake chinese cart and dump the aurora ticket distribution rom onto it, essentially making your own distribution cart.
Shiny rayquaza was/is my first ever shiny. I got it after only 236 tries. On the other hand I've been trying to catch a shiny feebas. I've been trying for weeks, still no luck...
Because of the different RNG in Emerald, you can't simply soft reset as in other games. In Emerald you start every time with the same frames again, when you reset. Because of that you need to find methods and ways that keep the frames "alive" for a longer period of time. I would suggest watching the other video I made about Emerald or look up "Emerald RNG" on YT.
I just recently bought an English copy of Pokemon Emerald and i really want to hunt Deoxys and Mew as they are a few of my favorite mons but im not really sure where to start with the whole cheat cardridge thing😂
Thats awesome! I can recommend looking up pomeg berry glitch for Mew and Deoxys as there is a way to unlock the event locations without any cheats or hacks. I did that for my Mew hunt as well and it worked like a charm!
I only breed for competitive Pokemon in emerald, but I managed to hatch a shiny Chansey, Remoraid and Scyther. Scyther is especially good when you evolve it and sent it to XD.
I hatched a random shiny Mudkip yesterday after breeding about 10 of them for a good nature and IV one for battle tower. I already have a shiny Swampert but I'll take it LOL
When it comes to doing the fishing with the rod does it have to be during the time of that moment happening? Like can you beat the game and then go do this? Or does it have to be as it’s happening in the story if you get what I mean
Yeah so if you want to fish between the fighting legends, you have to do it when it happens. Once you summon Rayquaza, the fighting legends cutscene will end. Obviously you can do fishing hunts also outside of this cutscene but if you wanted to do it when the fight happens, you need to do it then.
I saw my first ever shiny after 20 years the other day. Unfortunately, I was using wild pokemon hax to spawn a kyrogre to quickly ev train, and I didn't want to catch a cheated pokemon.

In Emerald: No. The battery does not affect Emerald's RNG at all. You can do any shiny hunt in Emerald no matter if your battery is working or dry. Note that this is different to Ruby/Sapphire tho.

As I explained in my other video about Emerald, it's broken RNG doesn't matter. It only affects less then 10% of the hunts you can do in the entire game and for those, we have loopholes (like runaways for all mythicals and legendaries or the battle Video method i.e.). There are literally only two Pokémon you cannot hunt in Emerald and that are the Lati@s. Broken RNG or not, it doesn't matter. People get way too scared when they hear that.
No, that's not the case at all (luckily)! 😄 Emerald has the normal 1/8192 shiny odds as every other Gen 3 game, the RNG just works a little different. For about 90% of the Pokémon, you can hunt completely normally. Just for targets you would soft reset, you need to the hunt a little different. Feel free to check out my other video that explains a bit more how shinies in Emerald work.
@@OliverMKP To be honest at Emerald I have found the most Shinies than any other game I have played over the years, specifically I have found the following 1)Claydol in Sky Pillar (Selfdestruct 😞) 2) Whismur 3) Ledyba in Safari Zone (Catch) 4) Sunkern in Safari Zone (Run away 😅) 5) Poochyena (just after 3 minutes i start, although it was not what I was looking for) 6) Bagon and last 7) Cascoon
That's actually not true! In Pokémon Emerald, the RNG is entirely unaffected by the battery. So you can hunt the starters in Emerald in any case. The battery problem only exists in Ruby/Sapphire, but even then it just switches to Emerald's RNG. I suggest watching my playlist with all my Emerald vids if you want to learn more about it👍🏻
If the battery is dry in Ruby/Sapphire, they have the same RNG as Emerald. In that case, yes. But Ruby & Sapphire with working batteries work differently than Emerald.

The two Lati@s and the Wishmaker Jirachi are actually the only 3 Pokemon that are not huntable in Emerald (Lati@s because you're forced to watch the TV after E4 and Wishmaker Jirachi because the Colosseum bonus disc can only distribute to Ruby/Sapphire).
But all others are very great choices!

Very interesting and worthy hunts to try out! I already planned to do the johto starters, mew and deoxys but now, the pyramid got me intreeged and, I find hilarious the fishing close to Kyogre and Groundon, lol. Speaking of which, I'm currently hunting the weather trio. Got Rayquaza at almost 20k RAs and as I'm writing this Kyogre is at 12.8k, all in one system rip :/
I didn't know about the hiker one, it could be a nice chilling side hunt as we take a break from our main ones.

Nice vid, great tips. IMHO at least a honorable mention should be trapinch with 50% encounter rate in mirage tower, you just need a flyer or smoke ball to avoid arena trap.

You can also get gen 3 shiny johto starters by reseting the gift ones you get in xd
Those are way longer in XD tho, taking around 3-4 minutes per reset.
Most people would prefer a ~35 second reset in Emerald I'd assume.
But yes, it's def possible!

hey man, great video! Just a quick question since I'm a beginner in emerald Shunt: I am currently on Mew with the run away method and I just need some clarification; do you still need to record a battle video at the end of a session when doing run away method on static legendaries? Cuz I thought I had to and have been doing it for a while now, but I'm starting to realize I might be wrong.....
Thank you! And good question, Mew is a little special because in theory, you can either do Run Aways OR the battle video method. In most tutorials or guides for Mew it's always just talked about Run Aways, because it's just so much faster that the BV method doesn't really makes sense (except you prefer that method specifically).
If I understand you correctly, you're doing a combination of Run Aways and BV, which is not necessary. You can either do just Run Aways, or you use the BV method and do soft resets. I hope that helps and good luck on your hunt!✨

@@OliverMKP also, just to make sure I fully understand, when you do a hunting session with the run away method, the next time you restart the game for another session, there will be absolutely no chance to encounter one of the same spawns from before, like it could happen with regular random encouters? Cuz you know with the way the seed works etc. Like if I leave and re-enter the map, the game will ALWAYS load a truely random spawn of mew (or whatever static mon), independently from the starting seed and current frame?
@@sophisticatedwatermelon3596 Yes. As long as you keep the game running, the game generates more and more different (shiny-) frames. Obviously there is a super small chance that you sometimes hit a frame you've already hit a couple of hunting sessions ago, since the seed always goes back to 0 after resetting/restarting. That's why it's recommended to have decently long enough hunting sessions when hunting in Emerald. At least 1 hour is recommended to bring the risk down to a minimum of encountering the same frames from previous hunting sessions.

I love the johto starter sprites in emerald. I remember all I wanted to do was complete my Pokédex so I could get a tododile. It took forever and I finally got it. Then it got chewed up by our dog… I wish I could find a legit copy of emerald again.

Funny enough I wanted a charmader and my sis had FireRed. She breeded her starter for me and gave me one of her eggs for me to hatch. Since it was a starter Pokémon I wanted to hatch it on Route 101 just like where I got my starter Treeko, when it finally hatched I didn’t noticed anything strange about it till I looked at its info in the party and saw that it was yellow! I didn’t know why it looked like that at the time but it’s pretty special to me since it was hatched from my first save file when I started Pokémon and I’ve had it since. [it’s a Quiet nature btw!]
And thanks to the Gen3 cloning glitch I can keep him in my Gen3 game and continue having adventures with it in every new installment since 😊

Yeah many players didn't complete the regional dex so they probably haven't seen the Johto starters. And masuda method is just a method that changes the odds. Since you don't have this method in Emerald, it means that all eggs have a standard 1/8192 chance to be shiny. Congratulations on shiny Eevee!!✨

You already know that my favourites are the Charmander egg hunt and the Charizard battle pyramid hunt and that I will do them as well. But I am also eventually going for the Mew - and maybe also Bagon, because I really like how it looks like in Emerald - and well, it's a dragon type.

Just got shiny Mew last night thanks to this video. Took only 4 and a half hours (a break was taken in between). Can't say Deoxys is very fun due to you needing to do the triangle puzzle each time though.
Congratulations on that super fast shiny Mew! 4 and a half hours is nothing, the average 1/8192 shiny happens after about 75-85 hours haha!

Bouncing bike glitch with repel for wailord.
Unfortunately the 100% repel for Wailord only works in Ruby, not in sapphire or Emerald because the level range is different for Wailord. But even without repel, beautiful target for sure!
You can also get the aurora ticket semi legitimately if you buy a cheap fake chinese cart and dump the aurora ticket distribution rom onto it, essentially making your own distribution cart.
Shiny rayquaza was/is my first ever shiny. I got it after only 236 tries. On the other hand I've been trying to catch a shiny feebas. I've been trying for weeks, still no luck...

Because of the different RNG in Emerald, you can't simply soft reset as in other games.
In Emerald you start every time with the same frames again, when you reset.
Because of that you need to find methods and ways that keep the frames "alive" for a longer period of time.
I would suggest watching the other video I made about Emerald or look up "Emerald RNG" on YT.

I just recently bought an English copy of Pokemon Emerald and i really want to hunt Deoxys and Mew as they are a few of my favorite mons but im not really sure where to start with the whole cheat cardridge thing😂
Thats awesome! I can recommend looking up pomeg berry glitch for Mew and Deoxys as there is a way to unlock the event locations without any cheats or hacks. I did that for my Mew hunt as well and it worked like a charm!

I only breed for competitive Pokemon in emerald, but I managed to hatch a shiny Chansey, Remoraid and Scyther. Scyther is especially good when you evolve it and sent it to XD.

When it comes to doing the fishing with the rod does it have to be during the time of that moment happening? Like can you beat the game and then go do this? Or does it have to be as it’s happening in the story if you get what I mean
Yeah so if you want to fish between the fighting legends, you have to do it when it happens. Once you summon Rayquaza, the fighting legends cutscene will end.
Obviously you can do fishing hunts also outside of this cutscene but if you wanted to do it when the fight happens, you need to do it then.
I saw my first ever shiny after 20 years the other day. Unfortunately, I was using wild pokemon hax to spawn a kyrogre to quickly ev train, and I didn't want to catch a cheated pokemon.

Well every European Emerald copy that has a different language than English can do it (so i.e. German Emerald, French, Italian etc.)
Mate u can receive the old sea map on a legit English copy of emerald I done it myself only thing is u have to reset your game if u want to catch another mew
Yeah I actually found out a couple of months after uploading this that there is a glitter popping method or something like that to warp yourself to the Faraway Island also with the English games! Really neat!

In Emerald: No.
The battery does not affect Emerald's RNG at all. You can do any shiny hunt in Emerald no matter if your battery is working or dry. Note that this is different to Ruby/Sapphire tho.

If only emerald rng was not broken.
As I explained in my other video about Emerald, it's broken RNG doesn't matter. It only affects less then 10% of the hunts you can do in the entire game and for those, we have loopholes (like runaways for all mythicals and legendaries or the battle Video method i.e.).
There are literally only two Pokémon you cannot hunt in Emerald and that are the Lati@s. Broken RNG or not, it doesn't matter. People get way too scared when they hear that.

No, that's not the case at all (luckily)! 😄
Emerald has the normal 1/8192 shiny odds as every other Gen 3 game, the RNG just works a little different. For about 90% of the Pokémon, you can hunt completely normally. Just for targets you would soft reset, you need to the hunt a little different. Feel free to check out my other video that explains a bit more how shinies in Emerald work.

1)Claydol in Sky Pillar (Selfdestruct 😞)
2) Whismur
3) Ledyba in Safari Zone (Catch)
4) Sunkern in Safari Zone (Run away 😅)
5) Poochyena (just after 3 minutes i start, although it was not what I was looking for)
6) Bagon
and last
7) Cascoon
It sucks that if you get a dry battery you cant hunt the starters properly
That's actually not true! In Pokémon Emerald, the RNG is entirely unaffected by the battery. So you can hunt the starters in Emerald in any case. The battery problem only exists in Ruby/Sapphire, but even then it just switches to Emerald's RNG.

If the battery is dry in Ruby/Sapphire, they have the same RNG as Emerald. In that case, yes. But Ruby & Sapphire with working batteries work differently than Emerald.
