Thanks for testing this. If i had to sear on this, I would remove the drip pan and smoke box (leave baffle in open position) to expose the fire pot as much as possible. Then position your GrillGrates above the fire pot. This would provide more direct heat to the GrillGrates. Just a suggestion….🙂

It's a dedicated smoker not a grill. That's why it only goes to 350 degrees and no sidekick addition.
