What a piece of junk! I've seen other videos about shipping damage that seems to be very common with this pit for some reason (lack of decent packing and/or careless handling) and CC customer service seems to be lackluster. My Grilla OG had a few issues but customer service was top-notch! Think I won't be purchasing a Camp Chef. Don't need any aggravation. I'll be looking at the Grilla Mammoth vertical pellet smoker. No wood box but at least if anything goes wrong with it either in shipping or after the fact they are right on it. Nothing like customer satisfaction, good company.

Way too many problems for the money you spent. I was really going to consider selling my Pit Boss Copperhead 3 for this. After seeing this I do not think I will. I'm seriously considering the Nexgrill Oakwood 1400 at Home Depot for $300 less money. Thank you for this video. I'm subscribing to your channel as I want to catch any and all follow up. I assume you did the burn off but did you follow that up with a seasoning of the cabinet after the burn off. That warping of the metal is totally unacceptable. That cabinet probe should be stainless steel and needs to be kept clean to monitor the cabinet temp and control the pellet feed. If not your temps will jump all over the place. I thought the fire pot was more in the center of the cabinet. From your nideo it appears more to the left side.
Are you missing parts? The two pieces of metal that go over the burn pot that the heat deflector sits on? They are square and have a hole in center for the burn pot.
Yeah exactly same issues. But I may keep it. I the more I cook on it the more I like it. I smokes a brisket like 2 weeks ago it was amazing. Everything that I have cooked on it is super juicy.
The first unit I ordered was smashed in shipping. The second had defective hinges and the door couldn't close and seal. I went for a refund. It was a great idea, but would submit that even for this mid price point it seemed to be a low quality build.
Had nothing but problems with mine... Door warped, degrees under temp, handles were coming apart... I ruturned it in June and just got the replacement parts last week.. Camp chef is not easy to deal with.
I just got one 2 weeks ago from dicks sporting goods it was on sale think i got for 595 and that’s with 150 bucks for shipping was a really good deal but I’m having same issues u r and my door warps really bad to where it will barley open / close haven’t noticed anything with the probes yet and my unit came damaged from shipping 2 dents in the side of it small ones. Oh and my ash dump is really hard to open also idk what’s going on with that

I realize you have a replacement unit, but what did Camp Chef say regarding the rust? Have you noticed rust starting to form on the replacement unit?

If it jams I give my ash dump a tap from below with a short length of wood, that unjams it right away.
