- In a televised address to the nation, Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced military reservists will be sent to Ukraine as part of a "partial mobilisation" of Russian forces.
He said this was a necessary step to ensure territorial integrity and protect people in Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine.
Vladimir Putin has also accused the West of engaging in nuclear blackmail against Russia.
Meanwhile, Western nations have condemned Moscow's plans to hold urgent so-called referendums in parts of Ukraine that are currently under Russian control.

The Russians control the areas required for the referendum to take place. Once it’s done and they choose to join Russia then it’s objective of annexation is completed. Losing ground in the north is a minor loss as long as the objective is achieved. That’s the game Russia is playing.

And NATO doesn't spread, countries join NATO of their own free will. There are multiple votes both in the country and in NATO to be able to join it. It's not like the Bloc countries that had no choice.

Regions under Russian control will have referendum to join Russia. Meaning if Ukraine attacks these regions after that referendum, they basically attacking Russia. Atm there are only 200,000 Russian troops in Ukraine. They will increase to 500,000. (Ukraine has 700,000)

Thats not a mistake. The 300,000 wont all be people fighting on the frontline. They are using them to get factories running that build military equipment they need. Many are going to be used to maintain things like planes, choppers, tanks etc. The 30k reservists going to the frontline will require several times that number for logistics, maintenance and other support.

It's quite incredible. Russia claims to have destroyed around 3 times more HIMARS systems than the US has actually sent. What the Russians have probably destroyed are wooden HIMARS mock-ups. These were part of the original HIMARS deployment, and mean the Russians use dozens of missiles to destroy wooden mock-ups. Fight clever.
The funny thing is, it is just a truck.... nothing special about it, easily replaced.
The missiles are the special part so even if a few launchers are destroyed it isn't a big deal.

This was going to happen sometime anyway. Ukraine said that they were not going to stop fighting until all of their land was back under their control, even the parts that were stolen the last time Putin decided to invade. Once they were at those borders to reclaim their land Putin would have been "declaring war" then too. Although, he is already at war with Ukraine, so nothing has really changed.
