You just gave me an idea how to fix my PS3 video settings. Literally, I have a monitor on PC and an HDTV. Normally it works on both. I played first on the monitor for a long time then later on the HDTV. When I planned to play again on my monitor, it does not detect any signals using the HDMI output even I after hard resetting the video settings. Then I fixed it thru using a multi AV output and checked/unchecked those 480p/1080i/1080p to sort what really works.
Hi, my PS3 does the same thing but on my TV witch is a blaupunkt 40inch flickers as a snow storm with a cracking sound to for not even a second. And does it quite a couple of times. When I'm playing GTA 5. Even if I plug in my laptop on charge sometimes or USB on the PS3. Could it be the HDMI needs changing or something.?
Hi sir, mine goes blank screen(nosignal) then it will display the screen again, blank screen, then display again. It happens at home or in game. Sometimes it happens then stops. There was also the time that it didn't occur for days. Then it will happen again. I tried the reset video display but it didn't help. And also, whenever I try to reset it. The screen goes blank for a few seconds but it didn't change the resolution to 1080p even though my tv is full HD 1080p, not like the one in this video. I also tried on my other tv and it did the same as yours, it automatically changes to the maximum resolution. What's wrong with this? So I still have to change resolution in the display settings. Changing resolution didn't help either. Could it be my PS3? Or my HDMI Cable? Thanks in advance. :)

My PS3 used to randomly flicker every now and then like in this video, usually on the XMB screen. I started noticing it sometime after switching to a different television (720p...first television it was on was 1080p). The last time it flickered was when I was watching a high definition movie and the video actually went out, but the PS3's green light stayed on. I was able to turn it off and back on, but then researched and found this video. I haven't had the issue since I changed the settings, but do you think the video going out may be a sign of a bigger issue? Or still an issue related to video settings as shown in your video?

I have reset my display, but I still get random times where my TV doesn't see the PS3. If I unplug the HDMI and plug it back in the video comes back.
