- INGREDIENTS
Topping
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
1 tsp cinnamon
Cake
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 t vanilla
1/2 cup any neutral oil (i.e. vegetable;
canola, etc.)
3/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1-1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 T baking powder
1 t baking soda
Pinch of salt

I loved the way you didn’t make us sit through laborious chopping stirring etc. you just cracked on with it at speed! Plus you didn’t use a box cake. This looks delicious and will definitely try!!

P.s. I'll mixed some semolina flour there , too ....as it'll gives the cake feel even more texture .... x

Preheat oven: 350F
INGREDIENTS
Topping
• 1 cup chopped pecans
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
• 1 tsp cinnamon
Cake
• 2 eggs
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1 t vanilla
• 1/2 cup any neutral oil (i.e. vegetable; canola, etc.)
• 3/4 cup sour cream
• 1/4 cup milk
• 1-1/2 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 T baking powder
• 1 t baking soda
• Pinch of salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Topping
1. Over medium-high heat, mix until dissolved the butter, sugar, syrup, pecans and cinnamon
2. Transfer topping mixture into a cake pan
Cake
1. With a hand mixer, beat together eggs, sugar and vanilla
2. Add oil and mix well
3. Add sour cream and mix well
4. Add milk and mix well
5. Into mixture, sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt
6. Stir by hand until lump-free
7. Gently spread over topping
8. Bake at 350F for 35-40 minutes
After cooled, invert onto serving platter

It looks AMAZING!!😍 can someone tell me please if the pecans become softer or are they crunchy still? I have braces and can’t eat nuts (or chips, crackers, etc) because they’re crunchy and I could break a bracket. I had chopped nuts in a cookie and it was soft enough for me to eat so that’s why I ask😊
Since the cake batter is poured on top of the pecans and baked, it will soften slightly but retain some crunch.
Can use box cake?
You can give it a try. I’m not a fan of box cake. If possible try to do it from scratch. Thanks 😊
