A few of you mentioned that the filling overflowed, and I did some testing. I'd recommend replacing the lemon juice in this recipe with lemon zest. It will make the cream cheese mixture more stable and less likely to overflow while baking. In addition, it will taste even better because lemon zest has a more intense flavor than juice. Another way is to add a bit of cornstarch to the mixture.
Wow! Why didn't I think of this..DONT UNROLL. Greatest idea. There had to be a title that will get you more views. This is easiest most attractive recipe.
I thought I'd seen it all. Then I landed here. I might never leave. Keep these simple and delightful tips, tricks and recipes coming. I have the world's tiniest kitchen, no more than a counter top of about 16 inches, and a double sink-it's a mobile home- AND I'm stuck in a wheelchair. But I love to cook. So I have to be creative and crafty, using up every bit of room to prep and still be able to reach things is just never easy, and believe me, I have tried. Keeping the ingredients to a minimum, finding extra use for usual and customary products like these and other "pre-mades" is mandatory. But I don't want to sacrifice flavor and presentation. Following this basic recipe (As an aside, although people seem to use the newer pre-made cheesecake stuff in almost every "easy cheescake" offering, I've never found it in any local stores, not even walmart. I don't know where they live but in Florida, it doesn't seem to be sold). You gave me the perfect idea of using whipped CC, or just softening a block and whipping it up with a handheld immersion blender, or even grabbing my whisk and getting some upper arm action in there!!. Either way, the filling is tasty and almost bakery quality. Almost. I had a hard time finding fault and I am very picky! Next up, I'm going to add some savory spices to the dough, just pressed in, maybe thyme, sage, basil or cumin....endless possibilities and instead of sweet filling, try spinach, chopped green onion, a few scatterings of freshly cooked and finely chopped bacon or ham, even sausage. *If someone else wants to try these suggestions, remember to cook onion, meat products, almost all add ins need a little saute' or frying pan time!! Don't want to use RAW meat!* I like to play around with all sorts of combinations. Thanks so much for making your content visual without droning background chatter or music I don't like. You probably have one of the best, and certainly, the easiest channels to watch. I just became an instant subscriber. I appreciate you.
Yes, or any jam flavor. I personally have never seen an orange marmalade danish. But I have seen raspberry, apricot, cherry, blueberry... or you can use apple pie filling (chopped up a bit) as well.
I used to eat those all the time as a kid. Watching this video brought back memories I had forgotten. It makes me feel like I should be watching 'Bewitched' in black-and-white. ✌️
I've made easy chocolate croissants by using the canned crescent rolls. On each triangle, place 1 chocolate bar square-there's usually 8 squares to a bar, roll up the triangle, pinch the ends to keep choc from oozing out during baking. Bake per pkg instructions. When done, let cool a few minutes, dust with powder sugar and enjoy!!
Well shoot, there goes any thought of a diet that I had been thinking about. Looks like I am gonna make these this weekend. I plan on using blackberry or strawberry jam instead.
If it overflowed, get a spoon and eat that deliciousness. Best semi- homemade breakfast pastry I have seen. For those who want perfection and have time to make everything homemade, by all means no one is stopping you. Love this recipe, and will make it 1000+ more time.❤😂
This is a great idea. My mom loves crescents. I stuff them with all kinds of things for her. Next time I will try your great idea I know she will love it. Thanks!💜
Oh my goodness! Cheese danishes are my favorite and for some reason they are so hard to find without going to a specialty bakery. I can’t wait to make these myself!! Thank you for posting this, I know it will be delicious ❤
I tried them and I am a baker. They turned out like a little child got in my kitchen. I had to add more jam at the end since it all ran out onto the parchment paper, and yes, I zested lemon instead of juice. I hope they taste good since these are a gift to my father ❤🎉 ( too embarrassed to send a photo)😢
Interesting! I often eat cream cheese/lemon and sugar as a snack. After using half the cream cheese, I add lemon and sugar to the other half and leave it in its tub to snack on. Never thought to add it to a dough, thanks
Danish filling is usually made with regular cream cheese, so you can use it. Just keep in mind that it will take a bit longer to make and the filling will be denser than if you used whipped cream cheese.
I just made these and they did overflow. I didnt make them as big as i should have hsve. I need to really flatten the center more more. Will do that next time...they look bad but taste good!!
Mine ended up looking like volcanoes, oops! They were still delicious though! I will buy another crescent roll package tomorrow to make another batch :)
Absolutely! Keep an eye on them as they bake and adjust the baking time by a few minutes depending on how golden brown they get. Pre-cooked apple pie filling would work, but raw filling might make the dough soggy.
My question is yes I’m going to make these for my husband. BUT I do not like any form of cheese. What else could I use or do I just put the fruit jam on mine. Thank you for this great recipe 👏🏼🙏🏼🌹
Without cream cheese filling, it might taste a bit plain, like just jam on bread. To experiment, try substituting the cream cheese with thick Greek yogurt and keep the rest of the ingredients the same. Hope this works!

I love the way you made the circles rather than cutting and twisting the dough so much easier!!!
I REALLY love this channel!

For the glaze, could you just use lemon juice instead of the milk for the glaze topping? Looks wonderful ❤
Yes, you can make a sugar glaze with lemon juice. Yum!

My FAVORITE has apricot in it.
That's what I was thinking - that apricot jam or preserves would be so good! ❤

Would it be ok in regular oven instead and at the same setting? Also could U use apple pie filling 🤔

Do you have to store these in the fridge?
Yes, it's best to store these in the fridge if you'll consume them within a few days, or freeze them for longer storage.
