  • Alcohol is prohibited for Muslims in Pakistan, so I go to a Milk Shop to find out what the locals like to drink in Faisalabad, Punjab. While 97% of the population of Pakistan is muslim, alcohol can be sold to others religions, or to foreigners in 5-star hotels.
The location of Bangla Milk Shop is on my blog: "Don’t Miss These 2 Restaurants in Faisalabad!" blog.karlrock.....

@@fsdfdsfsdfsd2272 true but I think many places already have laws against public intoxication (at least in US). Laws to punish people who don't drink responsibly already exist. How well enforced are these laws is a different story which I'm sure varies county to county. It is comical though what substances are banned for health reasons when alcohol is pretty bad for you. I probably would support labels on alcoholic beverages mentioning the health/social risks similar to what European cigarettes companies have to brand on their products (i.e pictures of lung cancer and other health problems tobacco use can lead to).

You should visit there at around about 6:30 p.m. when it will be more cheerful as people will break their fast at that time especially food streets. Also I recommend you visit D-ground as well if you are still here at around 6:30 p.m.and also Iqbal stadium.

My milkaholic self is craving lassi & kheer…my lactose intolerance self objects…😂
I won’t write a book as I’m apt to do in comments; but my kids and I absolutely LOVED our almost 2 years in Rishikesh-as well as other travels there in India..well, except for the trains. That WAS almost 20yrs ago though, so hopefully things have gotten better. My Son returned several times with his best friends from Nepal. He’d hoped to return at some point, but shortly after getting renewal of his VISA for China last year..he died from a stroke, caused by COVID.
I’m thrilled you were able to return to your wonderful family there. India, like many other countries we’ve traveled to, has an undeserved bad reputation; fueled by ignorance and misinformation. Unfortunately, I doubt I’ll be able to return to traveling; but I’m grateful my children had the exposure and education that ONLY being in other countries and cultures could bring them. Listening to you..perhaps it’s my studies in Chinese the past 3 years that my wonderful Son got me into; but even 2 years of Sanskrit hasn’t stuck. I’ll blame it on both old age and not using it for 15+ years.
Enjoy your return and I believe I will make myself some Channa Masala, naan and puliogare rice tomorrow for Mother’s Day!
