I picked POTP prime at a toy show because I felt it was weird that my son didn't have an optimus yet. I absolutely love him and orion in bot modes. The alt mode with the trailer is fine but falls apart with the tractor trailer part. Just an excellent optimus with a commanding presence and excellent playability.
I have POTP'S Abominus and it's a decent enough combiner.but like yours, Cutthroat's bird head is so damn loose to the point where I'm, also,saying, "F#ck this thing!,I hate it!"
I wouldn’t mind getting the Defensor set. At the very least, I’d like to try to find copies of the oversized Weijiang KOs of the Protectobots, especially the KO of Rook. Also, I kinda like the head of Blackwing.

I've gotten the Dreadwind today and since I like the robot's looks, I'm pretty happy. Transformation and alt mode are much, much worse, tho, so I get where you're coming from. The fun of the robot mode makes it worth it, tho
For me the best was Predaking with the DNA Upgrade Kit, I LOOOOVEW the predacons! So I had to get it. But I agree of all combiner wars styled combiners... Abominus is THE BEST! I never cared for him of the Terrorcons in the cartoon. But WOW I saw the figure, I had to get it! When someone does not care about the character and they make him buy the figure... that means is GOOOOD!
I personally really wanted the Prime Masters to do well, having them be Headmaster sized was a good way of testing the waters if people want modern Pretenders and sadly they didn't sell, shame.
Well it's not the problem that they were head master sized, it's that they were head masters with no faces. Like why? No one was ever going to use them as head masters so why would you make them that way, and the line didn't even have head masters.

One of the things I really like power of the primes optimus prime is that he looks really powerful which is how I depict prime as I see him as this really powerful leader and there is not other optimus prime figure which depicts that better

Tbh, Rodimus Unicronus is my fave from the entire toyline. I wasn't interested in many of the figures in the PotP toyline, especially not Hotrod. The dual shades of red never looked good imo and the proportions suck. With Rodumus Unicronus tho, the proportions def still suck, but I bought him because imo the black and purple look perfect together and for some reason the darker plastic actually helps me ignore the flaws with the mold. Oh and that mustache and visor combo is badass.
Yeah if I could have gone back that's the one I would have gotten, but I couldn't Justify it at the time to pick that one up when I had the normal one.

I saw sludge and slag in a store and planning to buy it and remembered that they are bad and the studio series 86 figures had bad repersentations and they are good now cus of the 86 line so I don’t know should I wait or buy it.
If you really want it, Sludge is OK, not terrible not great, and I will say that it's probably going to be like a year before the 86 version comes, so you will probably spend the money you have now on other things between now and then, and will have new money by then.
I have potp volcanicus (minus sludge and snarl so I have to use CW mirage and sunstreaker) and now i'm thinking of replacing those dinobots with either the SS 86 or the planet X dinobots. Which is sad since i've always wanted a proper dinobot combiner but now i'm not really having much fun with it.
Looking forward to it. It looks really interesting. Great to see the beast era get some real love after like 20 years, and the concept of a more combined 1984 show, and Beast Wars is really intriguing. Plus I'm super excited for the Ark.

am I the only oe who thinks star saver should've gotten a leader class figure from this line? I know he's not a very popular character, at least not AS popular as Optimus, radius, or primal, but think it would've made sense for star saver to get a figure then. I know we now have the haslab figure to pretty much thank, but it still would've been interesting to see.

It's to make a cheap version of what the OG toys did. The Original Dinobot toys had their necks and or heads be gold chrome parts, that were encased in clear plastic. This way rather than have a separate part that was encased in plastic they just have one part that's got specific paint.
@@PerspectiveEnd an easy mistake to make when they create finicky, gimmicky designs instead of just good classics releases. I don't know why they need to make combiner components that you have to go out of your way to collect them all. I do not like going out of my way to find limbs for combiners. I especially despise having bots like JAZZ and HOUND as combiner limbs. If I want a combiner, I will get a myself a giftset combiner. and thank GOD they didn't do that practice with Devastator, who just got rereleased on Hasbro pulse. If they did this with Devastator back in the day, it would have been a nightmare. I would say to six of my family members that I wanted the Constructicons, and I would have six Mixmasters or something.

Ebay, Go to Ebay. You can find Blitzwings for 25 to 40ish bucks. All these figures are still reasonable on Ebay. TR Triggerhappy is a Hard Recommendation from me. TR Kup, also really good. I wouldn't say CW had anything you NEED. PotP Battleslash is a fun one. PotP Optimus is a good recomendation, yeah it's flawed, but you get Orion Pax, and a solidly poseable MPesque Optimus. It's not all the way to an MP but for half the price its doing more than half the job of it.

There were good ones in there, Great even, and then there were weird one's and terrible ones. Like the Abominus set was Great, as was the Upgrade Optimus, but there's not a lot else from that line, I'd ever consider buying again.
Idk why, but I never liked regular Optimus Primal design, I much Prefer Optimal Optimus and Transmetal primal to regular Optimus Primel. The gotty 90s/80s designs are a little hit or miss for me(I love G2 Megs but hate Action Master thundercracker), so I guess the Optimal and transmetal primals just hit it for me\_(:/)_/

It's a very fun figure. At the time it came out it was an absolute Budget Masterpiece. Now it's a little dated but still very fun.

That POTP Prime is fantastic. It is not a perfect representation of G1 Prime, but it is still a fantastic figure overall.

I saw sludge and slag in a store and planning to buy it and remembered that they are bad and the studio series 86 figures had bad repersentations and they are good now cus of the 86 line so I don’t know should I wait or buy it.
If you really want it, Sludge is OK, not terrible not great, and I will say that it's probably going to be like a year before the 86 version comes, so you will probably spend the money you have now on other things between now and then, and will have new money by then.

I have potp volcanicus (minus sludge and snarl so I have to use CW mirage and sunstreaker) and now i'm thinking of replacing those dinobots with either the SS 86 or the planet X dinobots. Which is sad since i've always wanted a proper dinobot combiner but now i'm not really having much fun with it.

am I the only oe who thinks star saver should've gotten a leader class figure from this line? I know he's not a very popular character, at least not AS popular as Optimus, radius, or primal, but think it would've made sense for star saver to get a figure then. I know we now have the haslab figure to pretty much thank, but it still would've been interesting to see.
I mean it would have made sense since he's a Digivolving weirdo in cannon, but at the same time, they weren't really doing out there stuff like Anime Exclusives at the time.

It's to make a cheap version of what the OG toys did. The Original Dinobot toys had their necks and or heads be gold chrome parts, that were encased in clear plastic. This way rather than have a separate part that was encased in plastic they just have one part that's got specific paint.

@@PerspectiveEnd an easy mistake to make when they create finicky, gimmicky designs instead of just good classics releases. I don't know why they need to make combiner components that you have to go out of your way to collect them all. I do not like going out of my way to find limbs for combiners. I especially despise having bots like JAZZ and HOUND as combiner limbs. If I want a combiner, I will get a myself a giftset combiner. and thank GOD they didn't do that practice with Devastator, who just got rereleased on Hasbro pulse. If they did this with Devastator back in the day, it would have been a nightmare. I would say to six of my family members that I wanted the Constructicons, and I would have six Mixmasters or something.

Ebay, Go to Ebay. You can find Blitzwings for 25 to 40ish bucks. All these figures are still reasonable on Ebay.
TR Triggerhappy is a Hard Recommendation from me. TR Kup, also really good.
I wouldn't say CW had anything you NEED.
PotP Battleslash is a fun one. PotP Optimus is a good recomendation, yeah it's flawed, but you get Orion Pax, and a solidly poseable MPesque Optimus. It's not all the way to an MP but for half the price its doing more than half the job of it.

The Decepticon Mirage is like a 5 second thing, so I don't think it should take precedence over the normal version.

There were good ones in there, Great even, and then there were weird one's and terrible ones. Like the Abominus set was Great, as was the Upgrade Optimus, but there's not a lot else from that line, I'd ever consider buying again.
Idk why, but I never liked regular Optimus Primal design, I much Prefer Optimal Optimus and Transmetal primal to regular Optimus Primel. The gotty 90s/80s designs are a little hit or miss for me(I love G2 Megs but hate Action Master thundercracker), so I guess the Optimal and transmetal primals just hit it for me\_(:/)_/
I liked all of them, but I'd say his TM1 form was pretty ugly in the robot mode face department.
