Legacy so far Y1) Practically an extension of kingdom Y2) Testing and capitalizing on the demand for different continuities Y3) Goin’ Bananas 3: in 3-D
My POV on Legacy Legacy year 1: Wait, people like it when we’re accurate to something other than a 40-something cartoon that’s not even accurate to itself? (Bulkhead is good and Knock Out is alright, but Arcee is definitely the worst of year 1 when it comes to unnecessary G1ification) Evolution: Indeed an evolution in the right direction, but not without its stinkers United: We haven’t had a bad figure aside from “Cyberverse” Chromia and even then she’s a retool of an already good mold
Legacy, we have energon weapons. Ok why? What do they do? Legacy, we don’t know? But get ready for evo-fusion. Side note. My local Walmart still has a peg full of Skids and 4 Galvatrons & Blitzwings Also-also where’s my Beast Machines Tankor & Jetstorm?
Oh Blitziwng is everywhere, and I don't think he's going anywhere. As for Tankor and Jetstorm, hopefully eventually. Though please no other BM characters.
I actually did complete legacy menasor and frankly I have no regrets with doing so being the first comnbiner I ever completed (I got in too late into combiner wars and I missed power of the primes due to being power of the primes) honestly I feel that each member ranges from just inoffensive to really good and I love how they look as a team and when combined
Same thing for me, if you don’t count my ko superion where silverbolts arm fell off. The figures go for insane prices on the aftermarket so it felt like a miracle every time I found one
I'm still seeing quite a lot of these figures at my walmarts and targets, I'll always be seeing legarcees, kickbacks, skids, crankcase, blitzwings, and armada Starscreams, oh and also like 20-30 coronation starscreams that refuse to go on clearance, and yet a month in and still no new things
I got lucky and found Bludegeon and Shrapnel at a Walmart. Still seeing lots of legacy figures, though the Strongarm wave from Evolution looks to be a close second, with SS85 Arcee and Airazor also being peg warmers.
I think legacy is my favourite line as it give more designs especially really obscure ones like jhiaxus a shine. And some absolute bangers like armada prime, tarn, the nemesis, victory saber etc.
Same man. All the unreleased G2 toys getting modern renditions was crazy news for anyone who likes obscure history. Same for the things you mentioned, and just more Japanese stuff like Galaxy Shuttle, Metalhawk, Minerva
It is super cool to see that, I just wish the Quality were a bit higher consistantly. Figures like Starscream should not be ruined by their QC, and Figures like Kickback should not be so underengineered.
The Stuntacon set was so infuriating to me. Not because I don’t like them I actually really like it. (It just sits up on a shelf in combine mode), but from how hard it was to pick up every figure besides Dragstrip and Breakdown. Seriously it took me a year to finally be able to pickup Motor Master on Amazon that wasn’t $180, and by the time I did I spent nearly $190 on two commander class as my Armada Prime came literally 3 days later.
Legacy was when I truly got into transformers, learning about the community was so much fun. However it’s also when I learned about the horrors of hasbro QC. 😢
I got Legacy Bombshell a while back for my birthday and I'd say the worst part about him is the risk of losing the partsforming guns for his insect mode, so otherwise he's surprisingly decent.
Ik you’ve probably heard this a million times but even in America, Cybertron really isn’t a sequel to Energon. There’s a throwaway line about Unicrons death in Energon being the catalyst for the whole story(if I remember correctly… I was 6). And an Energon character or two cameo in the final episode of the show and they don’t even talk, but that’s pretty much it. The show blatantly contradicts Energon and Armada like I’m pretty sure it’s the autobots first time ever on Earth when they arrive. When two characters combine, someone says something about having never seen two transform combine like that before… even though that was the whole gimmick of Energon… etc etc.
If you look at the Box of the 1988 Pretenders Skullgrin you can see the vehicle mode looks pretty much identical to what we got in Legacy aside from a few things being a little bit different. so while the concept art was really cool, they didn’t just invent some nothingness here it is actually trying to be the old toy’s alt mode
After seeing this video about Legacy Retrospective (and knowing Hasbro kinda feel off in sales in 2023), I can imagine the next Retrospective about Legacy Evolution starting with "it has a lot of promises", until digesting the figures one by one only to turn out it's more underwhelming with some being great while the rest just sucks.
Perspective I finally got laser prime and your review was actually very accurate and Its now one of my favorites in my collection. Also a figure I highly recommend you review is thrilling 30 sky byte. To me its a phenomenal figure
Wait they made a T30 Skybyte? And I'm glad that you are liking the Optimus so much, though I would recommend never getting another. It's a great figure to have ONCE.
Here in the Land Down Under, we have such weird distribution. We can get exclusives really easily, but regular releases just don't show up. There were so many SS 102 Optimus Primes on the shelf, but Core Class Swoop and Snarl never made it here, so we literally can't complete Volcanicus without importing from overseas. Also no Dreadwing.
Yeah, I'm hearing so many strange things from Australia. Like you guys are getting things MONTHS before I think there's even a chance they end up here, but then you don't git other stuff EVER.
@@PerspectiveEnd we got Motormaster before everyone else, but at the same time one of our local stores only recently (within the past month or so) started stocking Legacy Evo Wave ONE and SS86 Ironhide
I have a theory that Legacy Bulkie was a mold Hasbro had laying around for a while and didn't know what/when to use it, nor what universe to put it under, so, they released it under the Aligned Continuity/Prime Universe, and called it a day.
Countertheory: he was meant to be a what-if G1 Bulkhead before the idea of doing designs from all the Transformers media minus the movies became the central focus of Legacy/Evolution/United and he was promptly given a Prime Bulkhead noggin in order to match up with his wavemate Arcee.
6:37 there is no continuity at all between the 2 just watch Cybertron you basically need to no nothing going into it (what little continuity does exist is just Hasbro changing the dub to try and force it to make sense)
@@PerspectiveEnd you ever considered watching the Japanese version of Energon then? It’s genuinely great, it turned energon from one of my least favorite to my like 2nd favorite Transformers show. Superlink is sooooo good.
I don't know if you remember my comment on your starscream video, but I owe you an apology, after messing with it more I realised that I had the qc issue on BOTH my legs, which seemed to have just gotten worse over time which is why I didn't notice it at first. But you were right. Also the way I view legacy, is just how fun it was, (like how you mentioned in your trash master video) sure there were a lot of not great ones, but most every figure I got was just fun. Like how we got a lot of cool and somewhat obscure characters, Gimmicks kinda came back with laser prime as well. Legacy felt more like toys than just display pieces, which reminded me why I collect in the first place. (to have fun)
I don't remember the comment, but it's fine, even if I didn't I wouldn't take any offence to anything you said, and I'm just sorry to hear that yours is now doing the thing that everyone else's is doing. And yes, I will say that despite the quality of a lot of the toys, what legacy seems to have done is captured a sense of fun and surprise.
I think the lack of a coherent theme might've stifled some of the designers. Trying to design wildly different characters to all fit in the same toy line can't have been easy, going from a car robot one day then a fire ant the next. While some thrive on that, some is not all.
I actually had my dead ends head area snap off. Its where the head attachment tilts back with that pin? Yeah that snapped clear off, paid $45 for a Japan import no less
Now that I think about it, wouldnt Lega-cee be a better mold choice to repaint into Cyberverse Chromia than Animated Prowl. I mean, despite she shoulders being a little too broad, it would be a closer resemblance the Chromia and even has the 4 wheels
You are correct, it would make way more sense, though honestly at this point I'm glad to not, cause the mold is over used and only OK, the Prowl mold is a better toy.
Honestly, I don't necessarily mind Blitzwing's jet mod if the tank turret (which is supposed to be lined up with the rest of his tank kibble) is pulled out under the jet's belly, and has the turret in it's condensed form, as it feels a bit more balanced out to me, as it better makes a visual angle from nosecone to back of jet instead of a harsh 90 degrees. It also kinda reminds me a little of the underbelly turrets on some actual planes, even if the Soviet MiG-25 would never logically have one.
@@PerspectiveEnd The tank is in general passable to me personally, but the nosecone in tank mode was unnecessary and does visually break it at a number of angles.
It explains why despite the bad distribution, many of legacy's first year figures have been shelf-forming even into the toyline's third year. There were a few bangers, but most of the series was kind of sub-par. I do at least feel that year 2 was genuinely an evolution in some ways for the toyline. It also stumbled here and there but it came out stronger in my opinion than year one
I bought all three versions of Laser Prime, plan on buying a Magnus one if/when the make it. I really enjoy the mold, much more so than the Reveal the Shield version. That guy always felt off and incomplete. That said, still want an original. None of the remakes of Laser Prime really hit the same notes as the original toy from nearly 30 years ago. That toy still has so much charm and character.
I got legacy united bumblebee and if you see him, get him, don't worry about the size He's not as good as I made him out to be. He earns the deluxe price but barely
I always find I don't agree with about half of your opinions in these videos, but I still really enjoy how you express them.Your presenting style is really funny, well done mate. I'm in the UK and I did alright with the last few Kingdom / Legacy / SS86 really. I think I got most of what I wanted for reasonable price, but I paid £35 for Cosmos ( about $45 ) and - you're going to hate this - £40 for Dead End ( about $50 ) because I had all of the other ones and I wanted the complete set. I did only pay £45 for Motormaster in a sale when he was costing £90 everywhere else though, so it balanced out I guess! I really enjoyed Iguanus too and also thought Bombshell was a 2/3 at best. Boo.
This is why i cant agree that we’re in the Golden Age of transformers.. Figures are more expensive than ever and not perfect enough to justify getting. Honestly i wouldnt recommend any toyline of transformers to get into at this point given the prices. Look at classic figures and theyre too inaccessible for newer fans, modern figures are too mid and expensive to consistently get. ROTF and 2010s era was way better in nearly every way besides poseability.
Really I think the fandom is still just Riding a High from how cool Siege was. But the quality drop off was IMEEDIATE and harsh as soon as it was over.
Siege was nearly perfect. Earthrise was a stinker with only a few gems. Kingdom was a mixed bag, with some great figures, some horrible, and most just middle of the road. Can you guess where Legacy year 1 ends up for me? I’d give it as a whole a 7/10. There are fantastic figures like Bulkhead, Tarantulas, Jhiaxus, TMII Megs, Inferno, Armada Starscream, Iguanus, 2/5 of Menasor, and Cybertron Metroplex. However, there are also turds like Pointblank, Prime Arcee, Wild Rider, Core Hot Rod, Bomb-Burst and Shitwing (we sacrificed the Titans Return mold for THIS?!). And then we have about average ones like baby Shockwave, Skids/Crankcase, Kickback, Dead End, Skullgrin, and the Siege/Kingdom repacks (only picked up space Soundwave for being clean and he’s actually pretty fun; my only experience with Blaster is Evolution Twincast and he’s fantastic; no experience with Galvy).
Fun fact: I don't care about G1 accuracy. To me, I think it's stupid to expect perfection from designs that came from a show that was wildly inconsistent. The reason I'm saying this is because I love every G1 figure from this line. Every one. Especially Elita, and surprisingly Blitzwing. Just wish they did a selects version for a Diaclone scheme, since I think that just that colour change would fix the weird design since it's not trying to be a character.
I don't think G1 accuracy is Vital. That's why I love the TR Blitzwing so much, it wasn't accurate, but it was good. So my problem with the Legacy one is actually it's G1 accuracy. Why is the tank dick there at all. If that part didn't exist it would be a better toy.
9:30 “as we can see here it’s a wild rider alt mode attempting to hunt the poor old litte wheelie alt mode but fortunately for the wheelie the wild rider is so shit that it can’t move”
@@PerspectiveEnd I met Peter Cullen at a con a little bit ago and I took a photo with him and just sorta stood there because I was nervous lol. I'm thinking about getting the upgrade kit for him. The face doesn't really bother me but I want the poesable fingers.
Like as a team, or just as Menasor? Because if it's just Menasor, then wouldn't it be just as good as a large figure, if the component bots like Wildrider are TRASH?
I’ll be honest with prime Arcee, if they had used a regular waist and not a ball joint I’d love it a lot more than I do and even then I still like it a fair bit, even if the leg part can be a bit finicky at times
Legacy Bulkhead restarted TF collecting for my son & I because an ugly bulky army truck just appeals to our instincts for some reason. He's an emotional 10/10 to me
This is literally the AVGN of Transformers reviews. Those mistransformed shots on the turn table are a nice touch. While I don't hate the Combined Legacy Menasaur since getting Dragstrip, and Wildrider I've felt no compulsion whatsoever to remove them and same will go for Deadend, and Breakdown as I'm only getting them to complete the set. Wildrider being terrible aside how is Hasbro can put out numerous Lambos without fear of infringement but Breakdown can't get any retooling whatsoever. Guess Hasbro figured save on the figure as most will just plug him into the back of the leg and call it a day. Didn't expect much from Jhiaxus mode but turned out pretty great, and while most will subjectively disagree it was a choice mold for Vector Prime with the proportions and the fact he can two hand his sword.
You are not the first to make that AVGN Observation about me. Yeah I'm glad that joke lands so hard with people, I thought it up for my Worst of Year list for 2023 and I knew it's what I needed to do for list videos going forward. Sadly the Vector Prime is now in hand, and it's Trash, they bout Negative 20 dollars into the QC.
i have a special sort of hatred for pointblank and skullgrin even more than most fandom members considering for two solid years now they've been the only two figures filling out my local transformers shelves apparently even the kids in my area who still buy toys don't want them so they've been taking shelf space away from actually good figures though it seems in recent months detritus and strongarm have started to take their place because distribution in my area SUCKS is it any wonder most people just buy from amazon now
I got Legacy Knockout recently because it was cheap, and I have just discovered how I never liked the Jazz mold and its pathetic knees. Its basically just a model car based on his alt mode on my shelf now.
Well, although I only have 3 Legacy figures, I'll give you my top 10 best and top 10 worst figures of the line, but I included the Velocitron collection and the Wreck 'n Rule wave, as they're just subseries from Legacy, not their own individual toylines. But generally speaking, I do think Legacy was fairly bad, or mediocre at best, as there was more to hate then to like. Top 10 worst. 10: Kickback 9: Soundwave 8: Bltizwing 7: Eject (*yes, I went there*) 6: Twintwist 5: Pointblank 4: Scourge 3: Arcee 2: Knockout 1: Bulkhead Top 10 best. 10: Skids 9: Elita-One 8: Jhiaxus 7: Blaster 6: Springer 5: Tarantulas 4: Metroplex 3: Starscream 2: Dragstrip 1: Override
My Legacy Armada Starscream has really good QC. I'm saved. It's got the best looking Gerwalk so far. But I bet MP or Siege Skyfire has a better one. It doesn't even have the left hip problem. I'm so damn lucky. My fingers are small enough to squeeze into the leg flaps, maybe this thing's made for edgy twinks and master craftsmen with thin fingers? Here's a trick: if you open Armada Starscream's legs with your nails, you have to put pressure on the left side of the gap. Otherwise you gotta open it with a chopstick or a pen.
Hey man, I'm happy to hear that, congratulations. Man you must have itty bitty fingers. Mine are like 3 times too big to fit. I don't have finger nails, my OCD compels me to chew them off, so they aren't good for much.
I think I am the only one who liked bomb burst, It allows you to make what you can out of it. When I am bored the first thing I start doing is creating my own silly fanmodes. I love the alt mode. Yeah hes a shellformer but I have gotten around that and warmed up to the figure
I’m saving a fortune on this line, as there are so many characters I don’t care about or molds that just SUCK. There are some really good ones, like Jhiaxus and Nova Prime, but I’m currently spending more time and money getting Siege figures I missed.
Its funny, me and my friend were actually arguing about how bad legacee truly was. He thought that she was a partsformer just because the backpack bits came off in robot mode, which isn’t the definition of partsforming like…at all. It’s the equivalent of saying taking Kingrise Prime’s buttflap off for a cleaner look is partsforming - it just isn’t
Optional Partsforming isn't true partsforming. If it doesn't have to come off for the transformation, or it would not make the Transformation easier if you do take it off, then it's not a sin.
Around Christmas time last year Walmart were selling 2 packs of both legacy and studio series figures it was a buy one get one free deal cause the 2 packs were $25 each
12:46 you see pointblank is one of those misfortune figures who's meant for good but oh BUT they have to cut the budget somewhere else and thats the reason why he doesn't have the god's mistakes arms and an alt mode which is serviceable but for diehard fans he's a bit lackluster. If not for budget i can see that this figure might become one of the best figures with the incorporation of the target master etc
Legacy nailed voyagers for the most part, deluxes were mixed to blah with a could gems, core was also a mixed bunch, then leaders there’s megatron and laser Prime forget the rest. Menasor like it’s better then the combiner wars as menasor but the individual bits don’t feel like a big step up mainly deadend and the leg warmer guys, really sad that the combiner wars breakdown in my opinion edges out the legacy one while it doesn’t have ankle rockers the vehicle and transformation are better the legacy’s backpack screws it and is pretty much the same transformation wise Legacy year 1 was vey bumpy but a good start to what came after
Their voyagers, the ones that weren't carry overs from previous lines, were pretty much all great, save for Starscream's QC. It's just too bad Menasor couldn't be better.
6:35-ish you don't need to watch energon before cybertron. cybertron only pays the barest amount of lip service to either energon or armada to the point where it's a different continuity in all but name. with that said you might still not enjoy it given that it's very much in the super robot side of the franchise
I get that, but there's this stupid little voice in the back of my head telling me I need to watch everything first. And maybe. It's a strong possibility I don't care for it. But who knows right now.
Can't wait for you to review Legacy Shadowstriker and Detritus to reveal they're the worse toys of their line, showing that I wasted money on the only two goddamn figures I could find
0:51 Regarding figure shipping, where i live its kinda an issue considering the only figures i was able to find a lot of from legacy were either legend, elita-1, galvatron and laser prime. Which kinda sucks considering i barely order anything onlin.
Did you know that there was originally going to be a Transformers Legacy tv show but due to how bad the reception of the War for Cybertron trilogy was on Netflix, they scrapped the show
I still remember how excited I was for this line and how many figures I wanted when the leaks were out, and as of today I've only got Bulkhead, Knockout and Iguanus. I literally have more ER figures than Legacy year 1 and I don't like ER as a line. Legacy was so dissapointing for me, out of all I originally wanted (and it was a lot) I'll just get Arcee and Starscream (to repaint him and have him as my Thundercracker) and MAYBE I'll seek out Elita and Laser Prime (to repaint him as a Nemesis which I'm sure will be cheaper than tracking the velocitron one since we never got him here in Chile) and that only if I don't find better alternatives.
@@PerspectiveEnd it's mainly the fact that I entered university to study the same year, so I didn't buy as much becausr I have to be more conservative with my money which leads me to be more judging of the figures I wanna buy and on that lies dissapointment. For example, I wanted Pointblank because growing up I had a DvD of the rebirth that I watched a lot as a kid, so when I saw the reviews I was so dissapointed because I could see and point in my collection better ways to tackle some stuff like the arms, my 2005 Cybertron Blurr has the same arm design but it's ingeneering allows him to have better articulation than a 2022 deluxe. Its a extreme case but that's how things were more or less
I really think you’re hating too hard on Wildrider and blitzwing, yet not hating enough on dragstrip. I won’t retype it, because I’ve discussed it with you several times. Great vid man.
Blitzwing is basically a RED figure, and Whildrider sucks in every way. Honestly it probably should have been on the worst of year list, but I think I forgot it.
Yeah...1st year Legacy was mostly mid to bad. There's a reason a lot of these figures ended up discounted and suuuper cheap on eBay. Even then, still not interested in Skids. Or how Menasor had to retool Dead End to fix that mass QC issue or make Breakdown actually look more lambo with paint apps. It gets better, but man was this a rough 1st go. I guess I should play the lottery because my Armada Starscream's leg don't have those issues. Also, the Legacy Metroplex is pretty good. As a titan, he's the most poseable, little floppy in the chest area where you're supposed to use a flip out panel to keep from happening, takes a little work. He's sturdy with some of the loudest ratchet joints I've ever heard, his worker mode is...a thing, at least it's not a phoned in base mode. He does scale well with modern figures when you see how big he is in the show. Not to mention the cheapest titan available, can get for 100 on Amazon on a good day, so a lil cheaper than the Ark's prices.
You aren't wrong, and I'm still finding a lot of these on shelves at Walmart right now. They'd better hope he's solid and poseable considering he doesn't do much of anything to transform.
Growing up in the kind of poverty that results in your parents being so butthurt about their relationship relationship drama that they’ll financially screw over one another, I went through my whole life not asking for really REALLY good toys because it became an instinct of mine to assume they either couldn’t afford it or they weren’t in the mood. I actually enjoy the Legacy Evolution Blitzwing & I’m glad I have it. I brought up my childhood bullshit because maybe you could tell me if I grew up to have bad taste or if I’m more capable of focusing on the good than the bad. You’ve apparently got money to spend so you probably know best on that topic.
I can't profess to being Rich or anything like that. It's just that this is my job as I see it, and I need to cover everything for my fans. So most of the figures wind up paying for them selves, but I'd be lying if I said this wasn't Financially unwise. And I'm sorry to hear about your home life growing up. As for your taste, I don't know that I can judge based off just that one figure. Blitzwing again makes for a Great Robot mode, it's just the altmodes that REALLY frustrate.
@@PerspectiveEnd I definitely relate on the distaste for kibble. The jet mode in particular is worse. There’s tank in the jet mode than there is jet in the tank mode. Although when I noticed that it made me think of animated blitzwing. The treads are the kibble for the jet mode & since he’s a triple changer I think it makes sense. I think that either mode being a 75/25% hybrid is a good explanation for the kibble. If they gave that sort of explanation in a show or movie I for one would actually like that.
I don't always agree with you, but I did point-for-point as you went through. One exception: the Knockout to me just needed a better head/face. I could forgive everything else. But that head screams "do a second draft." I also like the imagery of something grasping as well as a "fish climbing a tree." Did you come up with that simile? It definitely is good enough to deserve to be stolen.
I mean isn't that what I said about the head already? As for the fish I don't know, I just looked into it, and Einstine once said "You can't judge a fish by it's ability to climb a tree", so maybe I heard that before, I don't know.
As someone who got the entire Menasor set, it was such a let down and I spent WAY too much money on it. I went to Universal Studios to buy Motormaster and spent $150 on him. Then like $45 on Breakdown and Wild Rider at Walmart (never buy from Walmart online). I regret it everyday, and I just want to sell the whole team for like $225 on ebay.
For a small bit I've been watching your vids and while I understand the negativity others have on your opinions, I think your opinions are interesting and shed some new light on things, as for what I think of Legacy, I think it's just fun. One time I went to a school field trip to Universal and the bot I got at the Transformers ride there was the G2 Legacy prime, and that's technically the first Optimus Prime I own. (and I say technically because for a while I had one of those big gimmicky Optimus toys from Prime Beast Hunters) and I like it, I am wanting to get the animated one from United that ones a little more interesting. As for the prime arcee you talked about in the video, I'm one of the many few people who enjoy that one but I also completely understand the problems it has, and now thinking about it if it copied the transformation from the first addition prime arcee and it would've been golden. So ya'know again, I think Legacy's fun. When looking for the United stuff, I recommend getting the new Windblade, it has a big backpack yes but it's relatively the best Windblade so far, you might have different opinions on it but that's always cool💙
I did think going into this video that it would be more positive than it was. It's entirely possible that the fun the line was clearly having even if it wasn't working properly was infectious causing me to think it was better over all. The Funny thing is despite my Negativity I'm one of the people who's nicer to that figure than most. So it's actually weird that I don't cast that thing to the inferno. I hope you like the new Windblade more than I.
One thing to keep in mind is that Legacy was the first year of the current design team, the old team retired/moved on after Kingdom.
That explains allot
They've done really well
Well that explains why almost every figure in wave 1 wasn’t MID
Dang that was their first year? Actually kinda impressive.
where did you come across this information?
Imagine movie universe, devastator being in Legacy United
I’d be amazed if a toy like that actually exists at some point
I don’t think they will ever top the Studio Series Devastator since it’s such a wonky combiner 😩
Considering they just did that in Studio Series like 2 years ago, I don't see that happening.
I can’t believe how fast time is going now. Like I can’t believe legacy year 1 is two years old now, I feel old
It's more like a year and a half, but how do you think I feel, I started reviewing in Earthrise.

My POV on Legacy
Legacy year 1: Wait, people like it when we’re accurate to something other than a 40-something cartoon that’s not even accurate to itself? (Bulkhead is good and Knock Out is alright, but Arcee is definitely the worst of year 1 when it comes to unnecessary G1ification)

Cant wait for the legacy evolution retrospective, very intrested to see the bashing of tarn's shoulders again
Distribution has been ridiculously bad since this line came out.
Legacy is my favorite line since Animated. Very impressed.
Like as a whole taking Evolution and United into account, or just year 1?
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah, Evolution and United included.
14:51
What a coincidence, my starscream’s *right* leg keeps coming off when I dared to use the swivel
Legacy was when I truly got into transformers, learning about the community was so much fun. However it’s also when I learned about the horrors of hasbro QC. 😢
I'm glad to have you in the fandom. There was a lot to love with these recent lines, it's just too bad it wasn't all loveable.
Dragon megs and motormaster are easily the 2 best of the line
Too bad Motormaster will never be complete without all the limb bots, and too many of them suck.
@@PerspectiveEnd too true
I've never laughed so hard at a review 10/10. We have different views on some of these figures but I love the digs. Truly a great roast.
Proud to hear that.
I cant believe my stores STILL HAVE LEGACY YEAR 1 FIGURES
I'm actually seeing Tarantulas show up for the first time at my local walmarts, and Jhiaxus and Starscream are everywhere.
"The looking forward to rid prime" vid I'm talking about
I got Legacy Bombshell a while back for my birthday and I'd say the worst part about him is the risk of losing the partsforming guns for his insect mode, so otherwise he's surprisingly decent.
Wow the retrospectives haven’t been here for a while and now there back and I am happy
Knockout would have been way better if he had his proper noseguard
Agreed.
While a few pleasant surprises, Legacy wave 1 came up short.
Sadly you are correct.
8:31 thoughts on earthspark tarantulas's design?
I get that, but there's still this stupid little voice in my head telling me I can't.
Legacy: The year of MID
I wouldn't say that. There were great figures in there, and TERRIBLE ones, it averages mid, but the Median figure is not mid.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah the average being mid was the point I was trying to get at.
They did capture the old design quite well yes.
Omega pride is called omega, prime when ultra Magnus and Optimus prime combine in Japan. It’s called God fire convoy.
Indeed, I have no explanation other than I'm stupid and I forgot, but in my Defence it's been over 20 years since I last watched the show.
We will find out when I make that video, but I still hope it will be better.
@@PerspectiveEnd Hope that's the case.
Either way, still have doubts until then
Perspective I finally got laser prime and your review was actually very accurate and Its now one of my favorites in my collection. Also a figure I highly recommend you review is thrilling 30 sky byte. To me its a phenomenal figure
Wait they made a T30 Skybyte?
And I'm glad that you are liking the Optimus so much, though I would recommend never getting another. It's a great figure to have ONCE.
Just got revenge of the fallen long haul for a good price of 20 bucks
Nice! Congrats.
Hoping for more IDW figures, we need a Nautica and official CHUGs of mtmte Rodimus and Megatron.
Nautica is sooooooo Desperately needed.
Indonesian here and we also haven't seen Bludgeon and Dreadwing.
@@hypertech116 we got a bunch of Bludgeons, but I only ever saw one Twincast (which I got) and one Tarn
@@EternityKingdomsHeadHoncho That's pretty much what I said.
I think that this video really reminds me of the “the budget is allocated for the entire wave” rule, some are godly amazing, and some are dookie.
7:18 I don’t own that Elita but I like it, it looks cute and the alt is closer to her alt more in G1 than the her last 2 toys
To be fair that's not a High Bar to cross. Her last two toys were the PotP and the ER, and both of those were TRYING to take liberties.
I ain't accepting any Cybertron Metroplex slander
Well then what are you gonna do about it huh? Come at me bro!
@@PerspectiveEnd I'll throw my Transformers Generations Legacy Titan Class Metroplex at you!! (But gently I don't like hurting people badly)
6:37 there is no continuity at all between the 2 just watch Cybertron you basically need to no nothing going into it (what little continuity does exist is just Hasbro changing the dub to try and force it to make sense)
There's just a dumb voice in my head telling me I can't do that.
Transmetal 2 megatron my beloved. None of my other figures besides armada prime have anywhere near the presence he has.
Totally Understandable why. The Bright red, the Wingspan, the image, man stands out in the best ways.
I think the lack of a coherent theme might've stifled some of the designers. Trying to design wildly different characters to all fit in the same toy line can't have been easy, going from a car robot one day then a fire ant the next. While some thrive on that, some is not all.
I can understand that point of view.
I watched Cybertron standalone. Really, you don't need to see Energon
I know, but there's this stupid little voice in the back of my head telling me I need to.
Can't wait for part 2 with legacy evolution and a part 3 with legacy universe.
I actually had my dead ends head area snap off. Its where the head attachment tilts back with that pin? Yeah that snapped clear off, paid $45 for a Japan import no less
That sucks so bad. I'm sorry to hear that.
Once I got kickback which was my first legacy figure I didn’t put him down for a while and I love it transformation might be simple but still
I'm glad you are enjoying it so much. It's not a bad figure at all, it's just a little on the overly simple side.
The Jetmode offends me less too, but how do you feel about the tank?
@@PerspectiveEnd The tank is in general passable to me personally, but the nosecone in tank mode was unnecessary and does visually break it at a number of angles.
It explains why despite the bad distribution, many of legacy's first year figures have been shelf-forming even into the toyline's third year. There were a few bangers, but most of the series was kind of sub-par.
I do at least feel that year 2 was genuinely an evolution in some ways for the toyline. It also stumbled here and there but it came out stronger in my opinion than year one
I mean to be fair things like Jhaixus is also Shelfwarming right now.
7:30 personal preference, I love earthspark elita design
Most of it is good, it's just the face that's haunting, like all the faces in Earthspark.
stumbled a lot, but opened the gates for awesomeness in Legacy Evolution. Ready for the (still unconfirmed) trailer of TF One?
I hope the conclusion is happier when I do get into Evolution's Retrospective.
I am interested to see what it is for sure.
The little Shockwave is mostly inoffensive but the head is annoying when I try to transform it.
Why do you find the head to be annoying.
@@PerspectiveEnd it doesn't want to fold down during transformation.
Skids needed his beautiful Diaclone yellow eyes.
Skids is very mid
@@I.709 I wouldn't say the mold itself is though. I quite like Crankcase. Just needed sprucing up it seems.

Blitzwings probably my favorite Triple Changer figure.
And why is that?
@PerspectiveEnd ROCKET BOOSTED TANK!!!!
I got legacy united bumblebee and if you see him, get him, don't worry about the size
He's not as good as I made him out to be. He earns the deluxe price but barely
I hope to like him when I find him.
Whatever the quality was for any given figure,THEY MADE A COMBINER WITH WFC ENGINEERING! that's gotta be some brownie points
I mean does it? The combiner is already cheating a LOT and they still couldn't get it right.
@@PerspectiveEnd in heinsight, yeah, its really just a man with cars slapped on him
I always find I don't agree with about half of your opinions in these videos, but I still really enjoy how you express them.Your presenting style is really funny, well done mate.
Boo.
Thank you so much, I'm proud to hear that.
Oof that's painful to hear, did you at least like those two, or was it not worth the money?
This is why i cant agree that we’re in the Golden Age of transformers..
Figures are more expensive than ever and not perfect enough to justify getting. Honestly i wouldnt recommend any toyline of transformers to get into at this point given the prices. Look at classic figures and theyre too inaccessible for newer fans, modern figures are too mid and expensive to consistently get. ROTF and 2010s era was way better in nearly every way besides poseability.
Thank God for the recent KOs that companies like Black Mamba have been releasing, usually improvements and half the price.
For me I realized after rewatching my own video, it's kind of got Kingdom Syndrome. It started pretty good, but petered out real bad by the end.
The Menasor combo, in Killer Instinct.
Dragstrip: *paff-boff*
Motormaster: *thrack-thrack-zap*
Wildrid- C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!
I don't know what those first two attacks are supposed to be, but CCCCOMBO BREAKER is just the most satisfying thing I ever heard growing up.
Dead end: depression attack
@PerspectiveEnd just generic onomaatapoeia (I DEFINATELY spelt that wrong). Nothing missed. I barely touched KI, but Combo Breaker is just perfect.
Your fan mode for skullgrin looks like one of the tanks out of Voltron
Well I can't lay claim to it, it's just a fan mode that was out there, but that means it at least looks like a tank.
8:38 to 8:46 best part of the video
I'm glad so many people really appreciated that part... I'm just happy I managed to do it in one take.
9:30 “as we can see here it’s a wild rider alt mode attempting to hunt the poor old litte wheelie alt mode but fortunately for the wheelie the wild rider is so shit that it can’t move”
I love Transformers so much, it’s such a shame I *STILL* can’t find anything past Legacy wave 1.

It could work as a TLK Barricade yeah.

I don’t care what y’all say,the legacy stunticons are one of the best combiners
Like as a team, or just as Menasor? Because if it's just Menasor, then wouldn't it be just as good as a large figure, if the component bots like Wildrider are TRASH?
I’ll be honest with prime Arcee, if they had used a regular waist and not a ball joint I’d love it a lot more than I do and even then I still like it a fair bit, even if the leg part can be a bit finicky at times
That might have been a lot better.
Sadly the Vector Prime is now in hand, and it's Trash, they bout Negative 20 dollars into the QC.
i have a special sort of hatred for pointblank and skullgrin even more than most fandom members
considering for two solid years now they've been the only two figures filling out my local transformers shelves
apparently even the kids in my area who still buy toys don't want them
so they've been taking shelf space away from actually good figures
though it seems in recent months detritus and strongarm have started to take their place because distribution in my area SUCKS
is it any wonder most people just buy from amazon now
I do feel you on that, It sucks when Shelfwarmers won't go on clearance, and get out of your way so they can buy more new stuff.
I got Legacy Knockout recently because it was cheap, and I have just discovered how I never liked the Jazz mold and its pathetic knees. Its basically just a model car based on his alt mode on my shelf now.
Sorry to hear that, but at least you can still make sweet sweet love to that car mode.

Why did Pointblank end up so low on the list?
Why is Springer on the good Side at all, he's from Siege?
I think the problem with Bombburst is that even the official altmode feels like a fan mode.
See I think the problem with Bombburst is that even the Official Altmode feels like a Fanmode.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah
I’m saving a fortune on this line, as there are so many characters I don’t care about or molds that just SUCK.
There are some really good ones, like Jhiaxus and Nova Prime, but I’m currently spending more time and money getting Siege figures I missed.
There are benefits to a line having a lot of stinkers and you found some of them.
Wow that was quick i just saw the community post
Yeah, I put that out as kind of a Joke, because this was already uploaded.
My dead end is a defect that makes it better
And what is that Defect?
Most of the legacy figures in this video I got in those Walmart 2 packs and the tarantulas and elita 2 pack i got for $7
Everyone keeps mentioning these Walmart Twopacks, but I have no idea what those are?
Around Christmas time last year Walmart were selling 2 packs of both legacy and studio series figures it was a buy one get one free deal cause the 2 packs were $25 each
12:46 you see pointblank is one of those misfortune figures who's meant for good but oh BUT they have to cut the budget somewhere else and thats the reason why he doesn't have the god's mistakes arms and an alt mode which is serviceable but for diehard fans he's a bit lackluster. If not for budget i can see that this figure might become one of the best figures with the incorporation of the target master etc
Honestly, I'd much prefer them to cut the Figure all together and give it's budget to Wildrider and Breakdown.
Legacy nailed voyagers for the most part, deluxes were mixed to blah with a could gems, core was also a mixed bunch, then leaders there’s megatron and laser Prime forget the rest.
Menasor like it’s better then the combiner wars as menasor but the individual bits don’t feel like a big step up mainly deadend and the leg warmer guys, really sad that the combiner wars breakdown in my opinion edges out the legacy one while it doesn’t have ankle rockers the vehicle and transformation are better the legacy’s backpack screws it and is pretty much the same transformation wise
Legacy year 1 was vey bumpy but a good start to what came after
Their voyagers, the ones that weren't carry overs from previous lines, were pretty much all great, save for Starscream's QC.
It's just too bad Menasor couldn't be better.
Do you have United Chase yet? Are you planning on getting one? I recommend it.

Regarding figure shipping, where i live its kinda an issue considering the only figures i was able to find a lot of from legacy were either legend, elita-1, galvatron and laser prime. Which kinda sucks considering i barely order anything onlin.
Oh, its' a huge issue for me to, you have no idea the lengths I have to go to to get a lot of these figures.
Did you know that there was originally going to be a Transformers Legacy tv show but due to how bad the reception of the War for Cybertron trilogy was on Netflix, they scrapped the show
I had heard that yes.
What caused you to get so few of them, and having so few, what disappoints you so much about it?
Here in japan beachcomber devcon and all the insect icons and every leader class shelfwarm all the time
I really think you’re hating too hard on Wildrider and blitzwing, yet not hating enough on dragstrip.
8:38 that part made me laugh
That was a lot of peoples favorite moment.
I'm sorry to hear that. It sucks that you had to over pay, and the fact that one of those over pays was for one of the only good members tainting it.
Point blank's pose... 😂
I was going for as creepy as possible.
