I was very interested in your video as I’ve just ordered one of these. My AMG C63 4 litre twin turbo would get 31 mpg max on a 200 mile motorway run.You get fuel anxiety at 25 mpg but it’s comforting to know you can get maybe 35 from an F Type.Gives you a choice , drive in comfort up the motorway and dynamic when on bendy country roads.Keep on with the videos.
Back when the UK M4 motorway was an endless speed-camera-enforced 50mph construction zone, I would regularly get 45mpg on the Reading to M25 section, and on two occasions [by being ultra careful] actually managed to touch 50mpg! Since then, with a new Quicksilver exhaust and back to normal motorway speed driving and enjoyable country lane motoring, I generally average around 35mpg (this is in a 2015 340PS daily driver 75k miles, and fueled probably 90% E10 + 10% E5). As commented earlier, this is a car for smiles-per-mile, not mpg. But having said that, my F Type will create less total CO2e between now and when I retire, compared with the CO2e from manufacturing a new eg Tesla: smiles-per-greener-mile as well as being a comfortable reliable daily with a great background soundtrack! 🙂
Great summary - and it just shows that these sports cars can be a true daily driver for those that need that. However, for those that don’t care it will truly make you smile! 😃
Very interesting. I collect my used P450 RWD in a week and will have a 380 mile trip home so will be interesting to see how it performs. Expecting mid to late 20's as average speed will be 70mph(+). Probably no worse than my old V6S. When you do the exhaust video, be sure to remove fuse 5! Hope you get your V6 back soon!
I have a Jag F Pace SVR. Do you think people who buy a 5.0 litre V8 are genuinely concerned about MPG. It certainly wasn’t something on my shopping list when I bought it.
Yes they do. The Jaguar F-Type whatever is a daily sports car, and for many will be the work horse getting them to work. So, they want to make sure it’s not going to break the bank when going to and from work, weekend drive nobody cares.
@@odaferra6070 its a lighter car, but your question was MPG lol. Personally I couldn’t tell the weight difference between my V6 vs V8 but wasn’t looking for it either
I'm not sure who would buy an F-type to commute on a motorway or to worry about MPG. I get 19 smiles per gallon with my V6 manual as I daily drive it over country roads and for enjoyment not to save a few quid.
My mate has the old shape looks better sounds better. Also removed the silly coat hanger behind the seat and got 2 inches extra of space. Was considering the 15-17 but Im looking GTR. F type not a 90k car. Made in UK so price is price
I mean you can get the R575 2021 for £54k in the U.K. you can get a 15-17 plate for under 40k. Wouldn’t advise spending 90k on an F-Type. Love the idea of removing the cost hanger for extra space! Will look into this!
Struggling to understand why fuel economy matters if your spending this much on a car and you cant afford 100 quid a couple of times a week to run it pointless clip really
It’s just about understanding the costs. I don’t use an F-Type every day because of the cost and depreciation. However, if I didn’t own an F-Type this video would be able to tell me the day to day costs…
V8 economy lmao who cares You want economy go buy a Prius soon as you hear the crackle popop pop bang you forget about economy fkn love my V8 AND THOSE NEW AUDI HEADLIGHTS ruin the jaaaaaag look whats your thought is V8 BETTER TO DRIVE THAN V6
43 mph =~70 km/h
30.4 mpg =~7.74 l/100km
The perfect comment doesn’t exi….
@@tootalltodrive haha my brain needed these calculations. Anyway the results are impressive!
I usually get 35mpg on long motorway journeys and once achieved 40mpg on a 50 mile stretch in my 2016 F-Type R V8 AWD 🙂👍
Nice! 👌

Pleased the video was helpful! Appreciate the support 🙌🏻
Did you fill up with standard E10? May find better results using super…I’d presume that’s what’s designed for the car
Yeah used E10 - future proof the video 😉 Didn’t want to spend extra on fuel that isn’t my car lol

The bonnet looks like an old classic Maserati Ghibli very eye catching. Really good mpg.
Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
Really like the spec with the light interior, and fairplay getting that MPG.
It wasn’t too surprising I was expecting similar stats to the V6.
Do you think the mpg would have improved if you used super unleaded instead of e10?
Maybe slightly but for any long drive I just put the car with E10 anyway.

@@TrinityCT11 can't decide between v6 and V8. What you think
Great video! Looking at buying an ftype and I never considered the v8 but I might after this👍
Honestly you should!
I have just ordered a pre registered P450.Not cheap but good value for the last great Jaguar V8 , and that fuel economy is remarkable.
@@andrewsproson1410 Great choice, what spec you gone for?

hate this trend of skinnier front headlights
I wasn’t a huge fan, but it grows on me during the videos I did with the car haha
6.8 l/100km My record Jag F Type R 550 hp rwd . standart 7.0 l
Not bad at all
Crazy your F-Type not back yet...😮
Yep been over 2 months…
V6 awd or v8 awd for fuel economy ?😇
Same stats, it’s the same engine block. No joke, it’s literally the same.
If anything the V8 might perform better as the AWD adds to the weight
@@tootalltodrive I always heard that v6 awd feel more agile and lighter in corner than v8 awd , is that true?

Yeah I average 19 for fun but it was my daily originally so I understand the questions on MPG
Yep those slitty eyes arent in keeping with a roaring jaguar

Not bad mpg if it's a 4 cylinder
Yeah and being a V8 even better 👌
4 cylinder I would expect 36
Are you sure you’re looking at average not instant 😂. Doesn’t seam to be changing much
I can confirm it was average 😂

It wasn’t a fair test personally because I had the AWD V8 and the V6 is RWD and I drove in mostly a wet Wales… Will do a proper review soon!
the dullest video I ever saw, sent me to sleep zzz
Can you expand on why?
