Slight correction, Portsmouth & Southsea is not the busiest station in Portsmouth. Before the pandemic, that was Portsmouth Harbour, but more recently, it has Fratton, so I guess people must have overinterpreted the phrase to get off at Fratton.
Love the video. Please advise how to get the ticket for £20 or less. I am coming from US in Aug and love to go back to Portsmouth for leisure & photos. Any senior discount? Thanks in advance.
thanks Josh. I will be taking this train, 1st Class, in a couple of weeks but will have a suitcase with me. is there somewhere to store my suitcase where I can keep an eye on it?
@MrRQBQ it’s what I have called it my entire life. Maybe don’t watch a global website where people have different accent and different name for things. The British are the only people who call it a toilet, because the rest of us put everything in the same room. And no I’m not American.
@@JoshGoesSlow 'The British are the only people who call it a toilet' - bit of a sweeping statement which is factually untrue. Try Germany for example where the use of the word 'toilette' is common in public places. Anyway I don't wish to quibble over something so petty, my original post was just intended as a light hearted observation.
Nice, well done.
I have been on South Western Railway down to Portsmouth Harbour and the journey is very good.
I must say I LOVED this video. Although couldn’t help but laugh at the pronunciations of some of the places 😀
Thankyou for sharing this route and explaining.Planning to go to portsmouth this summer
Nice review - I’m taking this route tomorrow.

Thanks for the time-lapse and the little pun at "Havant" station 😂
Where do you store your suitcase? I am concerned that it will be stored out of sight of where you are sitting.
Surbiton station also appears in Harry Potter and the Half Blood prince

Bumping this post as 2024 1st class tickets are nowhere near as low as advertised here.
Are there any refreshments on the train and are they complimentary in 1st class?
Thanks 👍
South Western Railway do not provide redreshments

Yes. If it is carry-on sized, you can store it in the overhead racks. Alternatively, you can store larger bags between the seats
Bathroom? Who takes a bath on a train?😀
unfunny
@@customhouse253 It wasn't intended to be funny, I was highlighting the unnecessary use of an Americanisation on a British site.

@@MrRQBQ the word 'restroom' is american, not 'bathroom'. obviously some call it a toilet but yeah
