- In this video I will be installing a new front suspension on my 1981 Camaro Z28. I will be Reusing my upper and lower control arms. There is a huge problem with the upper control arm bushings ugh. Thanks for watching.
I think the bushing with the nubs go on the front side of the upper control arm and the bushing without the nubs go on side facing the back of the car.
But for 81 you need 2 bushings with nubs the all go on the front side
I love this 81 Z28 restoration project. I cannot wait to see when it's all done.
Are you keeping it white with the blue stripes?
I just got done working on this, spent the whole day on it. It is going back to white but with the orange stripes. Just like the one I had in high school. Thanks for watching
@@RustyRatchetGarage WOW That's going to be beautiful! I can't wait to see it! What color are you going with for the interior? I find it so frustrating that you can't get colored interior parts. It's like you have to buy the default black and then paint them, you know. 🙄
@@80CAMZ28 thanks for watching, I am going to paint it white with the orange stripes. Interior will be red with black dash and center console. Just like I had in high school. Thank you for the compliment
Those springs are a bitch. Did a set on a ex's 79 Z28 back in 2002. Ended up cutting a coil off and mangled it in there
But yeah i agree with ya aftermarket control arms on these cars are the eay to go. I ordered a set from ptfb... In November... Still waiting for them 🤨
That sucks that you are still waiting on the control arms. I hope I never have to do those springs again.
How much do you want for those bushings? I have a 79 and I know it will need some. It’s been sitting for 23 years
Send me a email cfparkinson14@gmail.com I have some lowers for you also
@@RustyRatchetGarage I’ve emailed you. Thanks!
Where did you find your upper control arms i cant find oem ones anywhere i can find lower all day long and qa1 tubular but not oem uppers
The upper control arms are factory I had them powder coated. I did by the bushings from Camaro central
@@RustyRatchetGarage ohh okay thank you
Pick a similar amplitude volume on your time lapse videos please? Adjusting the volume back up when speaking is a pain in the arse. Maybe a cordless microphone you wear would help with getting your voice up.
Thanks for the input, this is something I been trying to figure out for a month now. I just might have to do the wireless mic option.
