Ryan, we do things so much alike. Always paying attention to detail and doing things correctly! I’ve always said “if a job is worth doing then it’s worth doing right the first time”. I’m anxiously awaiting the engine build! I will be riding with you in “spirit” on that first test drive. It won’t surprise me if you don’t drive it until after all the snow is gone and the weather warming up. I just don’t believe you want to get anything dirt or debris on that new undercarriage paint. Thanks for the video!
Heck yeah man! If I get the engine all complete before the snow melts, it will be hard not to take it for a drive but I will resist to keep my undercarriage clean 😢
Really nice work Ryan. Good call on the hinges. A very visual part of the engine compartment, they also get a workout and need to function smoothly without binding from too much paint build. The rest looks superb. There is something very satisfying about cleaned and well restored suspension. Especially the front. Never been able to put my finger on why - maybe safety, or handling, not sure. But I always find myself looking it over multiple times when the job is done, enjoying how how good it looks. I’d guess you’ve done the same. Looking forward to the engine, etc.. 👍👍
When you unbox those Daytona wheel jacks there are a couple of great vids of folks that stiffened them up for much easier rolling. Project is coming along nicely.
Love your videos. Your attention to detail is quite remarkable, considering your young age. I don't think I've ever seen you do anything half-assed. Very impressed.
Another cool ep Ryan and man how satisfying is it seeing it all go back together and looking pristine!!! Nice work! Can't wait to see it on the ground!
Thanks to my recommended feed I just came across your channel. Fantastic work here my friend. Currently doing this on my Fbody and this is definitely inspiring! Rock on dude!
I'm so glad I found your videos I'm doing the exact same thing to my 73' Z/28. Already rebuilt the front subframe and have it off the car, now I have to do the underneath like in your other video.
Looks like factory Ryan, great research, effort and result. You are taking the time to do it once correctly without excuse. You will be proud to show it this summer when you get it back on the road. BTW, hood hinges look great, LOL. Hope all is well buddy, Cheers.
Great video. You are a patient man, from removing the broken bolt, to cleaning each part meticulously. I think you should test fit those awesome wheels so we get a peek at how they will look 🙃
The Eastwood rust encapsulator has a nice chassis black sheen typical of what the factory used in the seventies, not a high gloss, but a medium sheen instead. Like that.
Good luck on finding someone to do a proper alignment. The new alignment machines are really great, but from what I have found the people using them just don't care. I ended up making my own alignment equipment because I couldn't find a shop that would do a proper one. I hope to be posting a video on all that soon on my channel.
The car is going to look amazing! One little "trick" I do when messing with coil springs is that I take a vehicle tie down strap and loop it through the spring and connect the ends to the subframe on the opposite side. That way it can't potentially launch itself across the room and hurt people or damage things. I'm curious if you have a running total of parts/dollars invested. We have one going for our second gen and it's starting to get up near where I budgeted for the total build lol. Oh, and BTW, I've had the same experiences with OER products. For claiming to be "original reproduction" parts, we sure do have to massage them a lot.
Good idea Joel! I have a “close” total I am tracking and it is getting up there especially with the engine costs lol. Still will be ahead when it is all done though. 🙂
I understand it would be a lot to ask for but im currently about to do the same thing. Could you possibly tell me where you bought all of the stuff in like a list?
Great video, but the one main step I was looking to see was skipped right over, I wanted to see how you installed the lower control arms, I'm doing the same thing on my '76 CAMARO, but having a heck of a time getting them to line up and go back into place, did you have a hard time with that part?
Yeah I scuffed the paint off one area pretty good but it touched up nice with a foam brush. It was much easier to put these in than the stock springs would be too due to the height difference!
Come’n along real good. This is the best bearing packer that I have ever used. It even forces out the old grease when it’s time to do a repack. A friend of mine who works at a GM Dealership as a mechanic ordered it for me. www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/bp34550/handy-bearing-packer/ Too bad GM didn’t have a metal stop for the lower springs instead of a 2 hole gauge.
Ryan hello watch your show very often please if you will can you find out if the Eldorado Convertible is for sale this car was in the garage where you found the Camaro

In terms of our garage, tools, and methodology, you and I are almost the same guy.
This is as close to reality, as it gets. Good-to-the-point video.

I agree! I sat there and just kept looking at it after I was done 😅. Really makes the project look complete. Thanks for checking in!

I appreciate that David!
you made the bushing install look easy, thanks for the freezer trick.

Hang onto the bump stop spacers. That is a Z28 only item. Nice work as usual!
You always know the rare parts on these cars! I will be putting them next to the front bumperettes 🙂👍
As always Awesome work bud.watching this in my truck no power in South Texas ice storm.

Looks great Ryan you are doing a great job.
Thanks Lonnie!
Can't wait to see the finished car great work

wow super technical but great education. this car you will be able to eat off of
Thanks Larry, that’s the goal 👍🙂
Hey brother, I got this front clip in my 3100, and this is going to help a ton. Do you have videos of the steering linkage by chance?
Thanks!

Nice job Ryan I will definitely subscribe, I had a 73 Z28 and loved it sold it in 1985 for $ 4,100
Any tips on reinstalling the lower control arms, I know they can be tough to put back on
I understand it would be a lot to ask for but im currently about to do the same thing. Could you possibly tell me where you bought all of the stuff in like a list?
Shoot me an email carpharm@aol.com and I can talk to you about more specific products and where I got them 👍
Nasty dirty work, but looks cool when you are done. Will prevent future corrosion too.
This is a perfect video,,,, congrats
Thanks man!
hello ryan looking good

old guy showed me a trick on bolts like that tighten
lossen tighten loosen
I wish my springs would have gone in that easily. I really messed up my powder coating on the LCA’s. I wish I had just painted them instead.
Yeah I scuffed the paint off one area pretty good but it touched up nice with a foam brush. It was much easier to put these in than the stock springs would be too due to the height difference!
What disc brakes did you get
🔥
🙏👌
Just cover the bushing’s with grease before you paint then wipe the grease off later.
Hope you did the research on those rotors.
The stock ones or aftermarket? I kept the stockers
Looking good Ryan. When do you expect to have it back on the road?
Thanks! I am hoping late spring!

Hi Ryan
I am checking to see if you heard anything more in the Eldorado.
Thanks!
@@michelleross6714 I found out it was moved to another garage and is being looked over. If they decide to sell it I will let you know though!
@@RyanSampsonRPh thanks so much for keeping me in the loop. Keep rocking your show. It's awesome
How much did everything cost that you bought?
Coil springs, koni shocks, new calipers, pads, and paint just on this front end is about $450 😕. Adds up fast even doing all the work myself!
trick to install upper bump stop...dish soap.
What’s the price tag on this beauty?
Not too sure what it will be worth when it’s done but I know the part’s bill is adding up 😅
