The values of all humans are being developed at the same time that the technology is advancing, in other words, our present values are totally different of the values of the ancient people, but...the unique value that we have maintained through thousand and thousand of years is the value that we give to wars to gain advantages.
I don't really see Douglas' point. The gentleman in the blue suit was stating why we don't actually act out enlightenment values of justice, liberty, rationality. I don't see how Douglas' response addresses that.
