It honestly looks a lot better even compared to the new generation civic and altis. This doesn't even look like a competitor to the vios,almera and mirage
New civic is acquired taste. Parang whiskey. Kadiri for some. Godly for others.
You can compare this to Mirage g4. Its a horrible looking sedan and everything in it shouts cheap. Almera looks meh
I always keep on hearing that owning a geely is hard, like hirap sa casa at parts. But seeing a lot if coolrays on the road, I think they held up well.
If you live in the province, you might have a hard time if you want your car serviced. If you're in the metro, i think your good.
@@unsungcoder1883 Depends on the province. If you got your Geely at a dealership in your province then I'm pretty sure servicing isn't a problem.
@@thetrustysidekick3013 there are none at ours. So, yeah it sucks. There are dealerships(under other Chinese brands) which sold Geely but it is 4 hours away from our place and is not the 'Casa'.

With a non turbo motor and not super high HP for the size I'm hoping it is very economical, especially since, with the possible impending war in eastern Europe, gas prices will likely rise even more here and they are CDC already very high per liter. Can you share what the exterior paint choices are and if all colors and models including the "comfort" version carry the same beautiful white and blue interiors?

Omg ang ganda❣️❣️ 😍 From the exterior, interior to its features sobrang ganda!!! For a tech savvy like me sobrang naamaze ako sa features, this is a much better option than the toyota raize to be honest. Sobrang useful lahat ng features! Sadly I can only manifest and dream in buying my first car for now considering I’m yet to graduate this june
908k and its already loaded with tech compared to the Toyota Vios. Time will tell if the Emgrand will be a Vios killer.

Actually the reliability of Chinese cars have been proven be good in China domestically, the sales have outpaced the American, German even Japaneses cars in China, especially in new energy domain (Purify EV and Hybrid types), BYD is now the best seller even competes Teslas globally, it's safe to say China will be the largest car exporter in ten years from now on (it's already the second next to Japan in first half year of 2022)

The City and Altis have more powerful engines and Android auto/Apple Carplay. The current MG5 has the best price/features ratio.
The question is always spare parts availability and price for long time support like 10 years

If you're the type of person who buys a new car every 3 years and/or every 100k millage (which ever comes first) this is way better than a vios.

I have this car about 7 months now, bought a new Geely Emgrand S in China. But I am not finding a way to change language of computer from Chinese to English. In Geely they said that they dont know how to do it either and that it might not have this option since its built for chinese market. Any help for this ?

I heard coolray is reliable as my cousin bought a year ago and since no problems he actually bought one more coolray
I think it is durable coz they actually are bold enough to give 5 years/150KM warranty. Parts availability is the one that they should drastically improve (avoid parts monopoly/exclusive to casas only)

Over the years our family has bought a number of car brands, Honda and Ford mahal ng parts and maintenace, Hyundai some problems show up very early in the life of the car. It's only our Toyotas that has lasted with the least problem. You will thank yourself for buying a Toyota after a few years.
true. got 2021 corolla se with 21K miles on it , no issues only regular oil change every 5K miles.

I will just have to wait and see if this car will last for more than 5yrs before buying one and if i dont see any problem and its shows very reliable especially more parts available in the market why not. But for now its way to early to tell if they are reliable and will last for 5yrs without any problem. Lets talk again after 5yrs then....

@@SoJooCars yeah. i would expect a newer model would came up after 5yrs like vios gen1,2,3,4. geely emgrand v2. meaning they prove to the consumer that their cars are more reliable. they can go toe to toe with Toyota and Honda in PH market.
I'd like to have a diesel engine geely model.. any model.. as long as its diesel.. gas prices today really turns me off..

Better than the vios? In terms of features, looks, price, engine, definitely. In terms of parts and maintenance maybe not. Overall still a very very good car especially for the price. I would go for this since it's much more comfortable to ride.

China brand will always be full of tech since they need to compete with the Japanese brands. Their quality has yet to be proven. Only time will tell. If quality will be proven and sales goes up, then price will also go up. Supply and demand principle. Basic knowledge

How is the reliability? Any major problem example gear box, engine. Have bad experience with some brand and model.Hyundai spare part expensive, Ford is a nightmare(owning a Ford ranger with its gearbox stuck while in the middle of nowhere) send back to factory for warranty and after 2 months another problem arise, spare part is expensive, changing its oil also problem(can’t simply use any Tom dick oil,owning some Chinese make truck( very cheap) but end up oil keep leaking, can’t start the engine without a push. Japanese make car is still the best for now. Hope China can catch up( I’m tempted with their price)

reliability time will tell. major problem PMS will cover.... parts are coming same other car dealer latest model had same problem and more longer arrival.... What if its catch up and most of all surpasses Japanese cars.... the more tech inside the more problem we will encounter that's why if one break not mean its all bad.

I think it's too expensive for a geely. Because the base model coolray is just over 900k also. And it has a far more powerful engine and it's a SUV.

I like the design of car but i don't know why Chinese automakers use weak engines in their cars. They always use 1.5 naturally aspirated or turbo especially in their suv cars and crossovers.

just wait for toyota use the same engine..... they'll be transferring the manufacturing to china too..... As owner engine are will be base standard for all the sedan to accommodate all the tech inside.. China has raise the bar to this model....

auto lock for premium and seatbelt indicator. reverse sensor. Driver indicator seatbelt the engine locks if not properly seatbelt. etc.
Good car 🙂kaso mejo stiff yung learning curve and functionalities. Example yung sa sunroof ang layo ng inanavigate sa screen bago makontrol. IMO they should put those kind of functions on the physical buttons that needs to be navigated easily while driving. Emgrand is like an MG5 Alpha without 360cam and lower engine power but with lower price and a bit good-looking design (exterior & interior). Good competition!

Techie cars are good; comfortable, head turner, modern....
However, techie cars are somewhat sensitive with all the sensors and everything. MOST people like is a car that will last longer, easy and low cost maintenance.
That is what most people need...
I guess they're trying to attract the younger generation since they're the ones who easily falls for these tech stuff. Most of them doesn't really care about the engine and transmission. For me, this vehicle is scary. All those features and the looks at that price point. Makes me wonder, where did they cut costs. Maybe I'm wrong but there's a chance it might be the engine, transmission, suspension.

No they will not, but it depends on your preference. Some use cars for decades and some change their car every 5 years 😂
Your point of view depends on the buyers needs and budget tho. If your argument is reliability then don't bother looking on a company that are only 3 years in here while still trying to prove their products but some likes something new and more feature proof and has the money to do so.
