    Very helpful- since I have been trying to find a 'base point' to work off for my XR15 G5 Blues!

    Let your corals do the talking, they give you the best advice if they like your light schedule or not. Reefbuilders released a new vid where they show of there light schedule over a beautifull sps tank. Similar to yours ☀️🌴 my schedule runs for 12 hours, with 1 hour ramp up and down time. 65% blue en 35% white spectrum (RS Reefled 90’s) my corals are loving it ! Keep it up 🐠

    Hi Dimitry I have no trouble on Mobias but I do it on my iPad 🤔works every time 🤷🏻‍♂️. As you no I have gone into a template pHx14 (12hrs) and have intensity set @70% on my 4ft 340 ltr mixed reef with 3 Xr15. Will see how this goes. I do like the more blues than the Ab+ template. More colour pop. For me I struggle with ph so I’m thinking of dosing it through a dosser or if that’s no good a expensive 😭deltec stirrer 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍

    For me to connect to my radions I have to turn both lights off at the plug then turn them back on. Then it's still 50/50 if it doesn't connect first time. Their wave makers are great. But the connectivity to the app is useless. I know three other people that have the same issue. Pretty poor. Anyway. I've done pretty much the same. Lowered the lights, longer photo period but added more blue less white. Did this a month ago and some colours are popping. I'm getting more pink on the Walt Disney. My red planet tips are really pink now. I'm cleaning glass every two days now and could probably go three days now. Your tank is looking great mate 👌

    Beautiful tank. I would keep the reds to a minimum..... It has been documented that it can cause bleaching and aids algae growth. I would do 5.or less

      Interesting point, I've heard of reds getting the bad rap, but I have never witnessed it myself (and I did a bunch of experiments before), can you point me in the right direction?

      @@douglasachaiba7885 fair point. However, I did my own 6 month experiment where I was running 3 different spectrums on the same corals and on the same tank, my experience was different. It will be hard to quantify how much red is a lot and how much is too little. Red is also good for plants and photosynthesis, no?

    • @douglasachaiba7885
      @douglasachaiba7885 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TreasureCorals yes .. red is good for photosynthesis.. so algaes will also benefit... Hence why some refugium and alage scrubbers use red lights. But you have to consider what is best for zooxanthellae ... Hence the blue spectrum in the 420-450 NM wavelength.... Reds not so much. Zooxanthellae has chlorophyll a and c. And plants chlorophyll a and b. Each chlorophyll absorbs a different wavelength. Check it out and you will see. Hence why the reds may bleach some corals.

  • @sunnygoold9449
    @sunnygoold9449 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm not a fan of all that red. I would have that lower and maybe more whites mainly because I think some corals could get red hotspots - I know it's pretty diffused but to have higher red intensity that blues and whites could be detrimental

    • @TreasureCorals
      @TreasureCorals  ปีที่แล้ว

      You think red is detrimental to corals?

    • @sunnygoold9449
      @sunnygoold9449 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TreasureCorals I think hotspots of 660nm red are because it's a narrow band. The Gen5s should spread it enough but still I think running narrow band red (and to lesser extent Green) at a higher level than broadband whites (I know there are only 1 or 2 diodes) is not worth it unless you are really trying to get red / orange fish to stand out.
      I also got custom bars with a couple of 730nm red on 120 degree lenses and I suspect I lost some corals under them (now I have taped over them). Plus there is an acro farmer in the UK who was on ReefDork and he said he only runs blues on new imports initially and slowly adds in whites over weeks which massively reduced mortality (and I think he had Radions).
      I wouldn't worry about it if you have been running these levels previously but if I was lengthening my schedule whilst reducing the overall intensity I wouldn't up the % of reds and greens

      @@sunnygoold9449 Ah, got it. Pretty cool experience, I've actually seen that episode on ReefDork - great content. Thanks for your advice, I'll try to keep it nice and mellow. Corals seems to be bouncing back quickly.

    • @buruskeee
      @buruskeee 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There’s only 2 diodes of red on the XR30 out of the 102 total (plus 2 moonlights)

    • @sunnygoold9449
      @sunnygoold9449 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@buruskeee Exactly - but I still think if you run those 2 diodes too high they could easily hit a coral with too much intense red with obvious bad effects. In addition LEDs hit very specific, narrow, wavelengths and I think below 420 and above 500 it can be too intense for corals that have never been exposed and acclimatized to those narrow wavelengths (like non-aquacultured or those aquacultured under Halides or T5s). So if I wanted a whiter look I would use the warm and cool whites for most of that and use the green and especially the red sparingly (I also think the Radion lime may be a more broad spectrum diode)
