    I’m using a Finnex Marine LED bar on my 75gal. Has 4 color channels (BWRG) and is programmable in 3hr increments.
    So implementing your concept for lighting, and since I have an LPS / softie tank, would this be a good starting point:
    10am-1pm: on and ramp up to Blue 100
    1pm-7pm: Blue100, WRG20
    7pm-10pm: Blue100 and ramp down to off.

      We’re not too familiar with those lights. Just make sure the intensity isn’t too strong, just like any other light. We also prefer to put the whites on first in the morning/ early afternoon. So we can enjoy blue for the rest of the day as well :) but that’s just preference. Again, just make sure they’re are getting the appropriate amount of light :)

    i use less light specifically to make sure my corals don't over grow in my nanos. its easier to control calcium as they don't need as much. i kinda hate fraging cus i dont like wearing all the safety stuff so the less i have to do the happier i am lol.

    Are you guys at wwc using the polluplabs abplus scedual on your raidons for your mixed reefs . I have the xr15 g5 blues. I baught the blues because I thought it was going to give me the deep blue light I was looking for. Not true in my case. Should I have baught the pros? Instead of the blues? I hear you guys run the pros. Do you guys have a wwc light program for the blues I can download? Should I not be using abplus for a mixed reef? I turned down whites to 30% on mobius the program is running at 40% intensity. Am I doing this all wrong? What do you think?

    • @WorldWideCorals
      @WorldWideCorals  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you’re looking for a deeper blue look, just adjust the other blues till you see the spectrum/color you’re looking for. The only thing you really have to worry about is have the light TOO high of an intensity. Don’t stress too much about the lighting, you can use the programs we have on the site, adjust it to your liking, and make sure your water parameters are consistent!

      @@WorldWideCorals so I can just download the program for your 100gal mixed reef and just adjust the program intensity and I'll be good? My goal is mixed reef too. With acropora and micromussa together sharing the same lighting program.

    I wish I could come to the farm for a day and give the reefing community a better understanding for happy and sad corals and understanding reactions to too much light vs not enough I think that's what we really want to know par numbers only tell us so much and some of us are tired of chasing numbers or over-thinking lighting

    • @WorldWideCorals
      @WorldWideCorals  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s right, we don’t really measure par or do much of chasing numbers here! Just water tests and water changes! And just keeping the numbers consistent;)

    • @davidhartman2081
      @davidhartman2081 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WorldWideCorals but to give some of us in the hobby a better understanding for happy and sad corals a " corals reactions to light " episode is a must because I will admit more of the people I know have killed corals because of too much light I for one but I understand lighting is so controversial but it really doesn't have to be

    • @davidhartman2081
      @davidhartman2081 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WorldWideCorals and I personally run your 100g schedule on my diffused hydra 32s over a 40BREEDER that's the only reason chasing numbers comes into play if you have similar corals in 75 to 120 par then I can match that in my aquarium and know for certain lighting isn't the issue that's why everybody ask for par numbers because if you have corals that are happy within a specific range others would like to match that to have equal success because if all of our parameters are in the general vicinity lighting would be the only reason next to flow why things wouldn't be happy

      @@WorldWideCorals of course, it's 2022 time for rudimentary reefing to be established and understood shall we say , I would drive from Summerfield to the store just to be part of that I believe it would simplify things for future reefers to not get stuck or dwell like I did 😉 contact me any time I'm in your computer I promise David Hartman I even own my own par meter because Aqua Illumination forced me to become an ocd light scientist but I promise if we made a video about corals reactions nobody would ever have issues with lighting or ever need a par meter lol 🙏🏻💯💪🏻

    • @WorldWideCorals
      @WorldWideCorals  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s correct! That’s why lighting also depends on your preference and what you’re keeping in your tank as well :) These aqua-cultured corals that we keep are very adaptive to light! The main thing to focus on is proper water parameters and flow :)
