Yeah, I don't think anybody but Ann Wilson could pull that off, and his reaction was just so overwhelmingly wonderful!!! And tangentially related, I'm gonna use this opportunity to pivot to Nancy's phenomenal work as composer, producer, and technical consultant on the movie Almost Famous, which you SOOOO need to react to on your movie channel!!! I don't really understand their complaining. No one "forced" them to do anything, and they sure didn't mind cashing those checks! If they sold out their principles, that's on them. It's also not true that their new direction was MTV-driven. They had several albums that didn't produce any real hits after "Barracuda". Continuing what they were doing wasn't an option. It was either reinvent themselves or become has-beens.

Ann certainly has a great voice and she gets plenty of kudos for it, but lets not forget Nancy, she can sing pretty good too and can really play guitar. The sisters are from Seattle, and were in a band there that underwent several name changes. Around 1972 Ann's boyfriend Mike fled to Vancouver to avoid the draft and Ann followed. They were soon joined by Mike's brother Roger and Nancy and other band members. They settled on the name Heart and recorded their debut album at Mushroom Studios in Vancouver. The album didn't really take off until they got a gig as the opening act for Rod Stewart in Montreal. While their stay in Canada was only about 4 or 5 years, we are all kind of proud that they got their start here.

Love this one. Ann Wilson is one of the best rock singers ever, period. I've heard she never has a bad night live. I'd love to see you try a couple of Heart's early 90s songs: Black on Black II (maybe the heaviest song they've ever done, with a wailing vocal from Ann), and Will You Be There in the Morning (terrific power ballad).

Even though, at this point, they submitted to the "80s" formula; the sound, the arrangement, and being the sexy, big-haired women in the video themselves...the Wilson sisters still managed to make it that special Heart feeling and vibe!

Never can go wrong with Heart! However, it would be nice to see you explore more of the diversity in their catalog. Love Alive has a bit of flute in it played by Ann. Dog and Butterfly is one of their best songs of all time. Dream of the Archer is amazing. And then there is Dreamboat Annie (NOT the reprise at the end of their first album, but the main song.) Or the Title Track for IMO their best album = Little Queen. You have barely scratched the surface of how amazing they truly are. And the songs I suggested are largely their original lineup.
For the next harder rock song, try "Kick it out."

Written by Gene Black, Holly Knight, Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson. HK played keyboards in this recording. Recorded at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, across the Bay from my hometown San Francisco. 🌉
    Released in 1985.
Band. Howard Leese on lead guitar, who was with Heart from the debut album (1975) until Desire Walks On (1993). Denny Carmassi was on drums. He left Montrose, which had Sammy Hagar on lead vocals, who left to go solo, and Alan Fitzgerald on bass guitar and keyboards, who left to form Night Ranger. DC left after Desire Walks
Holly Knight was in her peak: 1982. wrote Change (for John Waite). 1983. with Mike Chapman wrote Love Is a Batterfield (for Pat Benatar). with Michael des Barres wrote Obsession (which both performed on the soundtrack to A Night in Heaven). On. 1984 with Nick Gilder (for Scandal). HK wrote many other hit songs.
Suggested next videos: 1 Heart performs There's the Girl 2 Lou Gramm performs Just Between You and Me.

Great tune, you can always count on the Wilson sisters. For a really underrated song and rocker from them, try Back On Black II, it really smokes. Saw them a few times, always a memorable show. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

The number 3, A side stunning 1985 "Heart" album, and the back cover sleeve poster of the LP in on your wall, guys. In Colombia, back then was a smash hit, despite we are not english spoken, even, back in those years, and I've got my copy as well, a vinyl sample. The drumming is tighten to a 80's rock approach, with drummer Ennis Carmasi, a record production from the master Ron Nevison, very succesful as well with other bands, like Ozzy, for example. This is a song that never let you down, with riffs and rock power. All 80's hair style and costumes. Great selection, folks. Thanks and take care.

I've been waiting for more Heart. I am so blessed to have grown up with them. They are in my top 3 all time. I've seen them 3 times in concert and was blown away each time. Ann Wilson has the best female voice out there and Nancy is incredibly talented. I love Ambers reactions to them. Especially when you reacted to Alone. Keep reacting to them you both will like them better and better and they will never disappoint.

One of the people to thank for this song is none other than the great Holy Knight! This outstanding songwriter is at the origin of so many hits of the 80s that it is almost indecent! She was so talented and the Tina Turner, Pat Benatar, John Wait, Cheap Trick and Heart of this world can thank her on their way to the bank.

If I remember correctly there was a bit of controversy during this album. Ann had gained a bit of weight so there were very few full body shots of her in the videos for this album. Early MTV and record companies were very image conscious!
