  • Sedans are back in vogue! In this test, we compare the new kids on the block - the Skoda Slavia and the Volkswagen Virtus - with the OG sedan, the Honda City. For variety, we've got the Slavia 1.0 TSI with the 6-speed AT, the City with the 1.5 i-VTEC with the CVT automatic and the Virtus GT with the 1.5 TSI and 7-speed DSG. In this test, we compare the rear seat space, boot sizes, features and driving dynamics of all three sedans. To find out which ones wins, watch the full video!

    Bought Slavia 6 months back when it was launched. What a car!! Looks, handling, ride quality, features, space and comfort all in one.
    That being said Virtus is pretty much the same however I loved Slavia's looks more compared to Virtus. Personal choice.
    Honda City is a forever gem. I would have bought it had Slavia been launched few months later. It is the most comfortable of the 3. However Slavia and Virtus are better all rounders.
    Basically all 3 are top sedans

      How about the rear passenger space? Does it fit 3 comfortably? Is the Honda city wider?

    • @ishraqsyed8999
      @ishraqsyed8999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@diysai The space is pretty much the same when it comes to rear seat. Hardly any difference so that shouldn't be a deal breaker when choosing any one of the 3.
      All 3 are almost equally wide and will provide equal space in terms of leg room and shoulder room. However the plus city has is that the seats I felt in city are more comfortable and cushiony compared to Slavia and Virtus. On the flipside the plus Slavia and Virtus has was that the center arm rest was much stable and better compared to city and the rear seat headrest is adjustable. Also Slavia and Virtus have foldable rear seats which city doesn't. It is an added advantage if you are carrying some luggage from one place to another.
      Now coming to the question that whether 3 people can fit comfortably. The answer to that I would say is it depends on how the 3 people are built. If its 3 well built fully grown men then they can still sit but the shoulder room might be a bit of a problem. However if it is 3 normal built people or 2 well built and 1 smaller sized person then it is relatively comfortable. Mind you I am talking only shoulder room here. Leg room is ample. That isn't a problem.
      Eg my family has my father mother wife and a son. So usually it is my wife, mother and son sitting in rear seat or my father, mother and son. They are all around in the range of 5'4 to 5'8 height and I can definitely say that they sit with full comfort.

Spending 20 lakhs on a car with such a simple yet stupid problem makes you wonder about the quality in the long term. Also loved the fact that you pointed out the problem with the AC controls. It is very distracting and being honest a bit dangerous and risky for long distances and highway drives. And my personal opinion is that virtus is a 4 seater and not a 5 seater unless there is a child in the middle. The foam on the ends of both rear seats hold you well but with 3 rear passengers there isn’t enough shoulder room and I’m a fairly wide guy and it’s very uncomfortable even for short distances. 26:31 great video tho ❤
