We received ours two weeks ago, it’s great. One of our ebikes is 72 lbs and the other one is about 50 lbs so we got the ramp also. It takes about 10 minutes to place the rack on our truck and load both bikes. One bike is a fat tire and both bikes ride securely without any additional strapping. We ordered it in the beginning of January and it arrived the middle of march.

This looks like a sturdy, convenient design. Many older former 2-wheel upright riders like myself have turned to recumbent bikes or trikes due to disabilities. A version for us would be very welcome. With the adjustable wheel size and drop-down features you're already half way there.
I would think if the contact point is not on the lower half of the wheel it would work ok. If it’s on the bottom half there will be no downward pressure to capture the bike. The design of the rack is to force the bike down and capture it. This rack won’t work for my eBike as the rear fenders cover most of the rear tire. I really wish it would work. Great looking bike rack. Very innovative. Two things; you should have done a demo for E-bikes with fenders. Also, nearly a grand for a two-bike rack? Not sure I'm willing to invest that much. The 1UP looks really good at $600, which is closer to my pain threshold for a bike rack.
This girl is really cute but your production woos has forced me to buy the readily available and similar 1upusa Superduty rack instead. Your quick rack mack2 is my first choice and is probably the best ebike rack with the highest capacity that I have encounter so far.
This rack is super nice, price is steep though, I'm not saying it's overpriced, just expensive. I have the Kuat NV 2.0 with a one bike add on, the Thule T2 XT, and the Saris MHS with a single bike tray since I always struggled with bike racks on my Jeep Wrangler with 35 inch tires, including the spare one. None of them really worked, I also have a Yakima fulltilt and no rack (of the ones I have) seemed to work with the spare tire. I should've gotten this one instead, it probably would've cleared the spare tire but who knows, I'm a bit of an impatient guy so the wait time is a bit of a deal breaker for me, as well. I ended up getting a spare tire delete kit for my jeep and they still don't work as intended, I'm still using a Kuat hitch dropper/riser to drop it 2 inches and it still barely clears it. I love my jeep but it definitely has to go now. Not sure why I wrote such a long comment but I had to say it.
I can't wait til my order is fulfilled! Question 1: Does the ramp allow for loading on both driver and passenger side? Question 2: Does the ramp store/lock/mount on a 4-bike setup or just a single?
Really like to get one…BUT the waiting for one is way to long….might have to look at the 1 up rack….they seem to have no issues with the materials as they mentioned in a video. Overall I think your rack is a winner….
Vegas - it’s cumbersome because it’s freakin solid! If you think you want the Quikr rack, likely gonna take a year at least to get one. There’s a waiting list since 2017...
Excellent review! One BIG question: I have two fat tire e bikes with FULL fenders. How can a bike attach to this rack with fenders that extend over the entire top of the tire? My rear fender extends to about 9 o'clock on the rear wheel.
I will give it you, it is a very thought out redesign from the 1up racks that do have some design flaws that could be addressed. But looking at your prices just for a two bike rack setup at 920$ US Dollars before tax and shipping costing up to 1000$ dollars after tax i much rather spend the money on a KUAT or 1up rack and save some money.
The Mach2 is priced to reflect its ease-of-use, which can't be matched thanks to the 100% no-tools design, e-bike capability, & portability. With the inventor of the original Quik Rack in our corner, you can expect his latest model, the Mach2, to be the industry standard. It’s lightweight, modular, and can handle 300 lbs. Cal’s racks have stood the test of time and we know some of you are willing to invest in the best. We are also 100% American-made, which naturally poses cost challenges, but we remain competitively priced with other 4-bike systems. We hope you'll consider investing in the latest & greatest. Please email Sales@QuikRStuff.com with any questions and we'd be happy to aid in your decision.
@@quikrstuff I wouldn't call it light weight. 28lbs for the single, then another 20 per add on? That gets heavy quick. And lets be honest, who is going to disassemble the rack fully each time it is used? Really good presentation and an intriguing engineering exercise. But it seems very impractical. My current rack is heavy, and a pain to store, but it is easy on and off for the most part with just one hitch bolt and a pin for pivoting it out. And dang, that thing is fiddly. I just want to load my bike and go, not spend 15 minutes getting my bike rack ready.
Hey, Frank. Personally, this is the most secure rack that I have ever owned (Amy B, Sales Rep). I have no fear of it falling off, even when 4-wheeling out in the desert. With my vehicle, and hopefully all of them, the hitch fits into my receiver nicely with no wobble at all. There are two aluminum pads on the hitch, which expand with a twisting handle to reduce wobble, which makes sure that the rack sits well in your hitch. Email us with any more questions at sale@quikrstuff.com
Very neat design. The use of aluminium to keep its strength and yet still be light and easy to carry. One observation thou. Usually as a rule you would put the heaviest bike nearest the car but in this demo, it looked like after the fat tyre bike handle bar only just managed to miss the boot lid when opened being in the second position. (5.45) As I have an Ebike and predominantly ride alone. This could be a issue. Or just that the camera didn't do it justice. Anyway, looks great

Really thinking about getting this rack since we just got two e-bikes. My concern is weight capacity. One of our bikes is 90lb and the other one 70lb. Would that be ok?
Instead of getting a seperate ramp is it possible to just use one of the arms when lowered to the lowest position and roll the bike up onto the ramp. I know the arm does not touch the ground but its close enough ?
Hello, the rack arms are not long enough to serve as a ramp. Even if they were, the tires would go through the arm since the width accommodates 5+ inch fat tires.
I was thinking the same thing....A lightweight removeable tray that drops into the gap of the arms would seem work...without lugging around that large ramp contraption.
@@fergman300 I see what you're saying, but don't think the lightweight removable tray that you suggest would work actually that well. Even if the rack arms were long enough to reach the ground (which they certainly wouldn't on my truck anyway), the approach angle would be quite steep. Having the longer ramp should allow for a much easier loading process. I think they hit the nail on the head with the current design because the people who would be using the ramp are mostly dealing with very heavy bikes/ebikes and/or some physical limitations on lifting them high onto the rack. Easier loading process seems to be the point. I personally also like the design of how easily it appears to latch on to the end for storage like an add-on.
Trying to find a bike rack that can carry my electric bike that weighs 165 lbs I need tools and about 20 minutes to take the battery out so that’s not really an option for me so just curious if this rack would be able to handle that weight of a bike?
Cal Phillips was the original owner and the inventor and designer of the Quik Rack. He is no longer associated with (company name removed for legal reasons) and is now designing for QuikRStuff. It’s the rack you know and love, but Quikr. 14 new patents, modular, lightweight yet heavy duty, NO tools required, easy access release trigger (no more reaching blindly and dislocating a shoulder), quick Add-on addition/removal (did we say NO tools already??), easy wheel size adjustment, amongst other improvements that relieve your bike rack woes.
@@quikrstuff Thanks, I was in Grand Junction this past weekend :) and we lost one of the pieces that pushes down on the tires on our 1UP due to it not being tightened when I adjusted it for our bike with 20 inches wheels so a toolless design would of been nice. They appear to be using $1 nut and blots for this piece (supply chain issues) so I'm a little miffed that we lost the piece on our $1000 rack somewhere on i70!
Hey there, the Mach2 fits many styles, weights, and sizes of bikes. Check out our FAQ page here for more questions about fitment: quikrstuff.com/faqs/ Or you can email us at support@quikrstuff.com
I have the 1Up rack and looks like this model solves most of the weaknesses of an already great rack so kudos to your engineers. One other issue I have with my 1up is I don't feel like it has a lot of stability side to side, especially when carrying heavier ebikes. I usually put a strap over the top to stop the side to side wobble. Does this rack provide any more stability in this area?
Neither are cheap that’s for sure. Just did math and this would $320 more than what I paid for 1Up. I can’t say it’s “worth it” because honestly there are cheaper racks than both of these that will get the job done. So if I’m over spending for the best, yeah I’d probably spend the extra and get this. Not saying it’s the smart thing to do.
@@oldgeezersendurochannel8487 your math is a little off Subtotals 3 bike setup with equip double d $1105 3 bike setup for the Quikr $1547 $442 difference . I’m all about getting the best rack out there but I don’t think adding a few more internal keys and handles is worth $442 personally . I agree they did improve on some of the few small areas maybe 1up was missing but damn. Maybe they can get cost down in the future and add a base 2 bike option I dunno.
$320 number is accurate, for what I bought (2 rail super duty). Your numbers would obviously be different/more. Is something worth it is very subjective. Doesn’t sound like this one is for you, which I wouldn’t argue with.
@@oldgeezersendurochannel8487 agh gotcha I knew something was different. Yeah if they were a little closer in price it wouldn’t even be a hard decision

And no bike/wheel lock? I know I can go an buy locks and cables (not Ft Knox but at least for minimal security). I was hoping for over $1000 on a two bike rack it would support these two basic things in some way. Other than that I love this thing.
There are two types of fenders: Plastic and Steel. Our suggestions are: For plastic, the spool will push down the fender to the tire for a snug fit. For steel, you could take foam pads, and cut it to wrap around the spool so that the fender will not get scratched. We will be releasing a pad that is matched to the spools and are determining the best material for the job. NOTE: Sorry, but we are not responsible for any damage to fenders due to these suggestions and your usage of them. As long as the tire spools hug the tires ABOVE the horizontal mid line of the wheel, it is secure. In other words, the contact should be above a line drawn horizontally from the axle (above 90 degrees).
An integrated locking mechanism is something that we greatly look forward to producing in the future. We agree, it is a must have! Currently, cable locks are the best way to lock your bike. You can also put padlocks on the wheel size levers if desired. Remember, locks only “keep honest people honest.”

@@sammyjames1929 Cool. Thanks for you support and patience.
I just bought a 1up rack in Sept 2020. I wish I got this instead. everyone I spoke to love the 1up but I find it super cumbersome.
^ This. Can you show how you handle bikes with full fenders and/or racks (front and back)?
This rack depends on putting pressure on the bare tires. You need to look for another system.
We will be making a video soon showing how to use it with fenders.
@@adamharris2674 Apparently not, they are making a video to show how it works with fenders
Great video! Question regarding this rack. How is it when traveling on the highway 70-75mph? Any issues with shaking or fear of falling off? Thanks
It looks great! I would like to see this system in Europe too 😔
Me too but in germany where i live , there are only ball type hitches as far as i know ?
We will be working on it!
Does it (drop down feature) work with RV “French style” rear doors?
Wow. This seems like an incredible set up!
Glad you think so!
I couldn’t wait so when with Kuat Piston Pro X instead
Am I reading this correctly? For a 4-bike system a person is looking at $1,700 and change? For a bicycle rack?
Very neat design. The use of aluminium to keep its strength and yet still be light and easy to carry.
One observation thou. Usually as a rule you would put the heaviest bike nearest the car but in this demo, it looked like after the fat tyre bike handle bar only just managed to miss the boot lid when opened being in the second position. (5.45)
As I have an Ebike and predominantly ride alone. This could be a issue.
Or just that the camera didn't do it justice.
Anyway, looks great
Hey, great catch! The heaviest bike should be the first bike loaded on (closest to the car). We should have caught that in the video. Thank you!
Cool rack and I like it lower weight. What about bikes with fenders? My Specialized ebike has sizable fenders. How is the bike secured?

How does one deal with fenders?
A month ago I replaced a 2019 Yakima Dr Tray with a 1UP double. I didn't know about this rack and I live in nearby Fruita! Oh well, maybe someday.
Yes, maybe someday! Once our products are back in stock, come check us out! Who knows, a friend might want to buy your current rack and you may need a replacement.... :)

Really thinking about getting this rack since we just got two e-bikes. My concern is weight capacity. One of our bikes is 90lb and the other one 70lb. Would that be ok?
The other thing I would double-check is can your vehicle be fitted with a 2" hitch and can handle the tongue weight of +160lbs.
Need something like this for a recumbent.
See above :)
Would this work with an eBike with 4” tires and fenders
@1:01 Incorrect, the old rack folds up the same way as the Quikr, AND the old rack is lighter and takes up LESS space on and off the vehicle.
For the cost I would think you could offer a coupon discount. $1000 with ramp and accessories is pretty steep.
It’s a shame it takes approx a year to have this rack delivered. I would have bought one if available. Very tough times for deliveries.
Trying to find a bike rack that can carry my electric bike that weighs 165 lbs I need tools and about 20 minutes to take the battery out so that’s not really an option for me so just curious if this rack would be able to handle that weight of a bike?
What bike is that? Love to learn about it. 165 lbs. is above our rating, sorry.
Motorworks Cab Recon with the 63 AH Battery
Sounds like you need a motorcycle rack like from Black Widow or TMS with 400-1000lbs capacity?
1up? Identical design? Both made in the US, I’m curious how the two can coexist without some type of patent infringement :-)
I like it!....I would like to buy one for 2 bikes. Do you have it in stock?
I sent email days ago but i didn't get answer.

Are the differences worth the extra $4-$500 ? I Was down to spend some money on a three bike system but through it in my cart and the total was $1700
Neither are cheap that’s for sure.
@@oldgeezersendurochannel8487 your math is a little off
Subtotals
3 bike setup with equip double d $1105
3 bike setup for the Quikr $1547
$442 difference .
What material are the barrel locks made of ? And are they easily replaceable if they ever get corroded and/or damaged ?

Hermitage, PA? What's the connection?
I love it but...my wife has a bike with fenders... What do you recommend?
And no bike/wheel lock? I know I can go an buy locks and cables (not Ft Knox but at least for minimal security). I was hoping for over $1000 on a two bike rack it would support these two basic things in some way. Other than that I love this thing.
There are two types of fenders: Plastic and Steel.
Our suggestions are:
For plastic, the spool will push down the fender to the tire for a snug fit.

Check out their FAQ page. According to the FAQ page, a 2" Hitch with the Mach2 will support up to 240lbs for bike slots 1 and 2. 140lbs for a 1-1/4" Mach2 with bikes in slot 1 and 2.
