    I really appreciate your excellent reviews Clint. The QuikRStuff rack address some of the annoyances of the 1UP but at a much higher price and a much longer wait (approx 6 months currently). I thought I had decided on the QuikRStuff, but now I might go with the 1UP, considering the price difference and the wait time.

    I'm glad I came across this today. Great review, and I came away with a great idea to place my rack on a device with wheels rather than carry it to it's storage place in the garage (saw yours in your garage where your racks are stored). I don't have the "muscle power" that you have. I'm a 73-year-old female and do the best I can loading/unloading my racks. I did buy the ramp but haven't used it yet. A "rack carrier on wheels" will make my life MUCH easier. Thank you for that great idea.

    This was an excellent followup review. I think your criticisms are spot on and fair. The release mechanism looks like it needs to be more substantial (better hand hold at least) with an adjustment for smoothness. The screech of the aluminum parts rubbing is irritating but probably the tradeoff for light weight metal. All in all, It's a beautiful rack and I can't wait to get mine. Thanks for doing this!

    Excellent review. Great to have another high-end competitor bike rack manufacturer selling to the consumer! You are starting to see several manufacturers' emulated the 1Up USA style of rack. It's worth noting as Clint mentioned the "rack" weight capacity, that most of not all high-end have similar weight restrictions. The main concern should be the "hitch" capacity. Hitch tongue weight capacity (downward weight) can be as low as 350 lbs and up to 2,000lbs. Horizontal hitch racks will put a ton of extra force on the hitch as you move outward. Do your research if plan on hauling 3 or more bikes. I've owned a 1Up USA rack (similar) so 3 trays will come close to 90lbs just for the rack (rack plus 3 MTB is close to 190lbs). On the 1up rack, a 3rd tray is close to 36" away from the hitch. At this point, your hitch capacity is cut in half if not more. If you plan on carrying 3/4 bikes in the horizontal position min Hitch Capacity for me would be 500lbs, and would rather have 700lbs. One major benefit of a vertical rack is the hauling capacity, it's much greater (all the bikes are closer to the hitch).

    This bike rack is crazy expensive at around $1,000 for a two-bike version. And in an email response to my order inquiry this week, they told me 90 days to 6 months to get one. 1UP is a great bike rack as well. Also made in the USA. Ships in less than a week. $400 less for a two-bike rack. I went with 1UP.

      Yeah, it's all about your own needs. For me it's worth the tools free install/ removal from the car since I do that a lot. And adding and removing trays in seconds is huge. But the 1Up is a great rack.

    I have been waiting for this review since you got the rack. I'm in the market to replace a 10 year old Kuat rack and this is one of the top 3 I'm considering (others being 1up or the Kuat NV). Glad to hear this is performing well. All of these racks are expensive but I would rather the money into a rack that will perform well for 10+ years vs a cheaper rack that could damage the bikes or only last a few years.

      I went with the 1up SuperDuty for 2 reasons.
      1. I like how the SuperDuty has a locking pin that goes the whole way thru the lock and car reciever. To me, this seems like a better setup to ensure the rack stayed on the car incase the anti-wobble mechanism broke.
      2. Honestly the main reason was the 6 month+ wait for the QuikrStuff Rack. My Kuat was only a 2 bike and I needed something with more capacity for a few planned trips this summer.

I added the Curt 53201 Aux 4-way LED light strip with a 7-pin to 4-way adaptor to the QuikRack. I also purchased heavy duty velcro tape and put several strips on the rack (fuzzy velcro on the backside of the LED lights). I can move the aux LED lights for with the rack in the up or down position. I also put velcro on both racks so I can move and plug-n-play the lights with 1 or 2 racks on my SUV.

      Super Duty Single, Add-On, EZ Pull and tax is $765.60. It has a weight carrying capacity of 75 lbs for each of 2 bike positions and weighs 46.5 lbs. The QuikR Mach 2, Add-On and tax is $1,071.61 and has a weight carrying capacity of 120 lbs for each of 2 bike positions and weighs 53.4 lbs. So although the QuickR weighs 6.9 lbs more it has 90 lbs more weight carrying capacity and is totally tool free. I am on the list for the QuickR but might cancel my order if it doesn't come in time. I would then order a Super Duty 1Up. Both great racks.

Especially being able to set it up for one bike, which is the way I ride the majority of the time. Being able to tilt it up when not in use would be awesome so it doesn't stick out when you park in the garage. I have a luggage/bike rack that holds up to 500 pounds. It has metal tire holders and then you have to ratchet strap my bikes in place. I have total piece of mind going on a long trip with my bikes strapped down. I’ve had no problems with the Quickrstuff. If you plan to leave the rack on the car and you don’t plan to add or remove trays, the 1 Up is more economical. But the quickrstuff is an amazing rack with so much flexibility. I’ve not used a 1Up but I know people who have and really like it.

    Hi, got mine today. Loved your video. Noticed a couple of things maybe you can help me understand:
    1. Some videos show 2 red pins. I received only one already inserted.
    2. Noticed the single rack lower on left side then on right side. Did the jiggle test and brought a level out to check. And can’t seem to get the rack nice and level.
    3. Could you do a video on the installing the license plate holder. Can’t figure it out.
    Thank you!

    What do you think of this rack compared to a hanging rack like Velocirax? I like the idea of the hanging rack but I also don't have much space for storage. I like the ideas behind both styles... but don't want to drop $1k on something I have zero space for off the vehicle.

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hanging rack is great for 3 or more bikes. For me it’s too big of a rack to just keep on my vehicle for daily use. And it really does take two people to remove it from the vehicle. I mean one person can do it but it’s definitely easier with two. And I’m taking my rack on and off the vehicle several times during the week by myself. So the velocirax is one that I use for trips where I’m carrying 3 to 4 bikes.

      @JitinMisra 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ClintGibbs no, my 1.25 inch hitch receiver does have a whole, the 1 up quick rack doesn’t utilize a thru pin, the shaft doesn’t have a whole , neither does 1up provide one. They just focus on the ball expansion and a Velcro strap that loops around the receiver and rack. The rack is solid thought. Other competitor is kuat transfer v2 c which has thru pin design but rack is kind of not as premium and as good .. what would you get among 1up quick rack and kuat transfer v2?

      I considered the one up but the quickerstuff had a few features that made me go towards it. First, you can add a remove trays with no tools in seconds. That’s the biggest reason. Also it does come on and off the vehicle with no tools. I also like the fact that the levers use friction and not teeth.

    How hard is it to get bike closest to the vehicle out when you have three or four racks in place? It seems like you have to go up and over. Can you side load it or do the arms get in the way? Does the stepped nature affect how the rack folds up against the vehicle when when three or four racks are in place?

    • @ClintGibbs

When putting on 4 bikes it makes it difficult, for myself and for a man with more muscles. Does the Quikr have the same issues of getting stuck and having to shake the rack a lot to release pressure and find the sweet spot where it will release and tilt? It is keyed to the same lock as the rack. I would still do a back up or even a third cable or chain lock system just to slow someone down with layers of protection if you need to leave unattended for hours.
