Ordered this rack and it took exactly 2 months to arrive (2" hitch, dual rack, ramp, wheel locks, license plate attachment). Added the Curt 4 way aux lights and used velcro on the Mach2 rack so I can move the lights around as needed depending 1-2 racks are used or in the up/down position. Drove from Denver to ABQ with a single Mach2 rack with my newly purchased 88lbs full suspension 4.8" fat tire mid-drive Himiway Cobra Pro with zero issues at hwy speeds of 75-85 mph.
The clips of you hitting speedbumps were exactly what I was looking to see. Super impressed by the stability, so thank you for showing!
Great review of the Mach 2. It’s convinced me to save up and buy this instead of the 1up Super Duty. The ease of install and removal, modularity, and compactness have sold me.
I love my Mach 2 rack. It was a 6 month wait. It is pricey but the last rack I will ever have to buy. Super easy to install. No tools. Bikes are so stable. Love it. Good review, thank you.
I just placed my order today! It’s about a 6 WEEK wait now. I have a Wired Freedom ebike arriving around the same time. I feel like a kid @ 🎅🏼🎁🎄 Christmas! Great review. Thank you.
Do you have a comparison vid between Quikrstuff and 1UP? Per the title I thought this would be it, but you mainly talked about the Quikrstuff rack.
I;ve had this rack for a few years and it is far and away the best rack I've ever owned. So fast to put on and off (30 secs) and being able to add trays as I like is fantastic. The ebike ramp can even be stored on it. It's worth the money. Wait times have gotten significantly shorter. Long waits during Covid, but no more.
Another great video from you, thanks for all the hard work and real world testing…!
i would have liked some discussion of the tilting down of both racks (with 1, 2, and 3 bikes on it). thanks.
Great review! I'm hoping you'll get the chance to review the newest 1UP Super Duty, which was redesigned in early 2024. It's definitely not as light as the Quickr Mach 2, but I was looking for a rack that would support my 84lb Aima Big Sur fat bike without bouncing and twisting around, and I really didn't want folding trays as to me, pivot points would compromise the stiffness.
LoL, I just purchased the Santa Fe for my girlfriend, she loves it, especially after I unlocked the speed to get over 30mph!
So glad to see you finally able get your hand on one of these for review!
I ordered Mach 2. Thanks for the review.
Really torn between the 1up Super Duty and the QuickrStuff. The price difference for me is $425. (Super Duty 2 platform with ebike wheel add on $733, QuikrStuff 2 platform $1158).
I ride rarely and will be taking off my rack after every single use. Also love the storage of the QuikR rack and how it folds perfectly 90 degrees. The easy modular removal of the second platform is great too because otherwise, I have an awkward angle to load my heavy 65lb ebike onto the platform closest to the vehicle with the outside platform sticking in the way. I'm already stretching my budget to get the Super Duty. I hate having to spend another +58% cost).
On the other hand, I plan to use my racks maybe 10x a year and want as compact a storage solution in my garage as possible.
@@EMTBReview Thanks. The problem is, my usage requires 1) removing often when not in use 2) configuring for one platform a lot 3) compact storage. It all points to the Quickrstuff 2! I’ll just have to earn more money
@@johnleo6201 yes. That will be perfect then. How long is the wait time these days?
@@RCReviewChannel Someone mentioned they got theirs in 2 months 2 weeks ago. Not bad; I just have to get over the big price difference.
They should make a little block/wheel chock you can slide in behind the tire
I love my Mach 2 rack I even added my own led lights
I did the same with Mach 2 rack and Curt aux lights. I added several velcro strips to the back of the LED strips and each Mach 2 rack. I can quickly move the LED lights if I have one tray, two trays, two trays+Mach2 ramp, and if the rack(s) are up or down.
@@mrgold3591 great idea. I used round led taillights and zip tied to outer rack. I left the wire long so I can just use that tray last. I only have 2 trays and probably won’t purchase any more. I definitely feel safer with the added lights though
Worth saving up for! No tools or parts to take off when using the ramp (imagine losing those at the trail head) and the ramp can be mounted to rack. All my issues with the 1Up were solved with this. Definitely expensive but its the last rack I'll have to purchase. Great review!
Right on, it is a gem indeed. It is like 1up, version 2.0
are you certain the weight capacity is 70 pounds each bike if mounting two bikes?
the chart i looked at said the first two bikes can be 120 pounds each. that is 240 pounds weight capacity for the first two bikes.
Yeah my garage is a bit smaller than the standard garage (for whatever reason) as it's a condo unit. Well, I do have a tool box stand in front of my SUV, so the space between the rear of the SUV and garage door will be tight for a bike rack. I really appreciate this video (and your other ones on bike racks). I am shopping for a single bike rack for an analog mountain bike that I can remove the bike rack after every ride if necessary.
Thanks for sharing! Yeah that Quikr really seems to fit your needs. Hopefully their backlog is not too bad these days.
Great info! Thank you so much. Well-explained and presented.
They should ad a little ramp to the Quickr rack so you could roll an ebike up the ramp.
They have the option for that
They do have ramp, it’s sold separately…
Superb review and an even better channel. You've convinced me to stay away. It's an overpriced rack that still needs some updates apparently and with a waitlist, that's just too boujee for me. $80 for a license plate holder and $60 for a lock??? - C'mon. Seems like their pricing is geared towards paying for those legal bills forthcoming from their spat - lol. 1 Up have the new iteration. Let's not forget that this Quikr current owner believed in the 1 Up Design first.
Great job as always - you're a trusted source for me day in, day out and no click bait titles!! Thank you again!
Great video’s bro. I am planning on investing in either the 1up super duty (single with add on or double, not sure yet) OR the quickrstuff mach 2 with the add on. For now all I have is a size large analog 29” mtb with plans of investing in an
e-mtb for myself and possibly an e-mtb for my kid which will be a smaller tire size for now I believe. I plan on not leaving the rack on my vehicle but I also don’t want to worry about it being stolen if I do leave it on. Which one should I go with? Thanks in advance. ALSO! Do u know if quickrstuff is coming out with a new model anytime soon? Have you had any problems with the locks on the quickrstuff?
What did you decide to do? Mach 2 or 1 up?
@@youngbull0 Quikrstuff mach 2
@@itsmenohandlethanks. Are the blue locking handles holding up well? Is it working well for you?
@@youngbull0 they are working well. Only used it a few times but I’m happy with it thus far. I actually called them and asked them about the blue handle locking situation and it could be from improper use. They have good customer service. They advise to make sure the key is not in when attaching and/or locking and to also make sure the lock button is not pushed in already when attaching.
1up super duty is so much better. I’ve seen/used both in person and off road. 1up was 100x more stable off road. The new 1up super duty can carry 4 with up to 325lbs. They solved the wobble with the wheel chock. And it’s 500$ cheaper.
Mine came came in 7ws, I ordered the first week in May 2023
What happens if your tire looses air & your clamping force goes to Zero?
The rack will lose its tension and the bike will wobble. The bike won't fall though because the arms are locked in place with a ratchet
@E-MTB Review do you transport your e-mtb with the battery in the bike while using the 1 UP USA rack?
Are you able to open your tailgate on the 4runner with the Quikrack in the up position?
Very nice review thank you but you did not mention one con with this type of rack that is it will not work well for bikes with fenders mainly on the rear tire. Also it would have been nice to see you load 2 bikes on the double. The 1up's hold down bars don't go all the way to the ground as these do but getting a heavy road ebike on that inner rail can be a real problem so a ramp would be called for. Did you say $250 for a ramp - get out of here. If I were designing one of these ebike racks I would figure out how to have a pivoting loading ramp built into the channels. This expensive thing has limitations including the price point no thanks.
Yeah, lots of room on the 2-bike compared to 1upusa.
for what we are getting, the price seems really good. people buy several thousand dollar ebikes, and race bikes, having the option/choice of such high quality design is truly wonderful.
there is always room for improvement, your design suggestion about a built in ramp could be nice. especially if the choice remained to easily remove the ramp if not needed.
i really like what i am seeing here in this design. the only improvement possibility i see is a larger handle for the angle lock release, rather than the small pin. a comfortable handle would possibly be ideal.
i’m looking for a bike rack that can hold my 110 pound hyper/super scooters. the chart i read indicate a 120 pound weight capacity for the first two bikes. if i understood the chart correctly. i will contact the company to confirm weight capacity specifications for the first two bikes.
Your reviews are so good. When researching which rack to buy, I watched around 20 video reviews, but most were lacked a single cogent thought, let alone a trustworthy recommendation.
Your reviews, those by "Shredding Spree", and the fantastic Piston Pro X review by "GREYWOLF MTB" were what saved the day for me.
In the end, I chose the QuikrStuff Mach2.
Oh, and DÆrik, though their reviews are more Tesla-oriented, but they have a small number of good bike rack reviews.
You convinced me on the Quikr Mach2. Ordered the base and 3 add-ons so the family could go too. $3000 ouch. They said 6 weeks....
Does this rack have a tilt away feature to access the trunk when loaded with bikes?
Yes
Great pro/cons review 👍
💯 Much improved over 1UP which was a real bitch to lockdown 1 handed. Super stable platform (side to side) especially for full powered Emtbs. 💪 But I always strapped them down at the BB/motor like a moto with rachet straps to minimize front to back jiggle...just another inconvenience.😜 Sold it due poor fat bike tire fitment (my enduro fit great) after 1 month and bought the Kuat NV2 instead due to lack of QuickR availability...which was bad a year ago too!
I'm happy with Kuat, but it has just a little side to side sway with absolutely no front to back jiggle...the exact opposite. So, not perfect!
For 1k, can't rack manufacturers solve the movement issue to lock down both planes super solidly? Do we really need Elon Musk to create a fix? 😁🍻
Pas mal mais le vélo bouge beaucoup je trouve. En conduisant tranquillement et sur bonne route ça va mais sur une route de montagne en conduite un peu sport 🤔🤔🤔
Needs wheel chocks. I Up has them, but I prefer the lightweight Quikr! I think the bike moves too much and with no wheel chocks it’s a deal breaker. I would hold my nose and swallow the price if it came with wheel chocks!
Would be even better if it folded outward rather than inward so without a bike you could fold it away from your trunk to get to the back of the car without banging your knees
Nice rack but man 1200 bucks for a dual? That's a lot of money when you can get a 1 up for 60% of the cost. I guess it does carry 120 pounds but how many e-bikes weigh that much? So essentially $500 dollars more for a few extra conveniences. And to have to wait months to get a rack is not really acceptable. Sounds like they need more staff or a faster manufacturing process.
The price is crazy indeed. Functionality wise, this makes the most sense for the buyer who wants to remove the rack off/on the vehicle ALL the time. That's where this shines over the competition.
I have a Saris SuperClamp 4 rack for my two Radrovers. I was right at the rack's limit at 60lbs each for two ebikes after I removed the battery, rack bag, and suspension seatpost. It wasn't convenient to store or install the +60lbs 4 bike rack Saris, add the anti-rattle hitch tightener, purchase fat tire trays, and prep and then lift the Radrover over to the 3 other positions to the closest tray to the rear hatch for a single ride. After years with the Saris, I started to get a little metal fatigue near the Saris hitch arm where it starts to bend up and it started to bend/stretch. The 120lbs of ebikes probably felt like +200lbs of ebikes over bumps or driving at hwy speeds.
Just ordered the QuickrStuff with extra rack for the extra load capacity; which means, I don't have to remove anything off my ebike to load. It will only take me 30 seconds to add a single rack for my solo rides (2 minutes for the 2nd rack for the wife and I for 240lbs of capacity). Planning to upgrade to the Himiway Cobra Pro mid-drive at 90lbs out the box. The Cobra Pro ebike has longer 51" wheelbase and would be too wide for my Saris rack.
My other choice was a dirt bike rack and trying to figure out tie down straps.
Really? Dude, the most important factor with rear mount bike rack is the tongue weight of the hitch and the vehicle. In addition, your Mom can upgrade to the 2" hitch mount for about $130. The company sells the upgrade parts online.
Way too pricy compared to the 1Up Super Duty unless you are loading and unloading different sized bikes and/or taking your rack off/on constantly.
Only waited 2.5 months, March 2023.
Whoa. Very impressive it's able to carry 120lbs...45lbs more than the 1up Super Duty!
Not anymore. 1up can handle more weight now. And is much more stable with the weight off road.
Good review but awful fill music.
Good feedback. We'll do better.
Insanely overpriced
Lost me at $1100.
The best rack ever. Wait in line. Mortgage your house.
It is good if one needs modularity. If one is to sit and forget, then this is a little too much money and form factor.
