- Touching down from Chiang Mai Thailand once again. It's my first day back since my mini road trip to Pai Northern Thailand. Am I missing Pai and being somewhere new? I'm already thinking of my next Thai road trip. Today I have a walk and talk about Pai and my future plans.

Everyone was happy in this vlog mate, must be something in the air. Chiang Rai is calling.
You can make a trip up to Mae sai. Cross the border to Maymar for a day. Then on to the golden triangle, Chiang Saen (stop there when it's full moon), Chiang Khong, then take a turn into Laos (You can't drive into Laos with a 125cc. Then go back to Chiang mai via Chiang Rai . a trip of about 700 km . You can do that easily with a 125 cc . My wife and I did this trip a few years ago on our 125 cc . Good roads and a lot to explore

I especially loved Chiang Dao, Mae Hong Son, and Mae Sareang. You may find them as inviting, as well!

Great to see the Mae Kha Canal has become popular, I visited in August and they were just finishing it. Keep travelling Wayne, enjoying the journey.

Couple of things Wayne. It's always good practice to keep a rain poncho with you if you're travelling out of town(in case you don't have have one already). It can be very useful if you are riding a motorbike. My personal two recommendations near CM are Lampang and Chiang Rai. Stay safe, have fun 😊👍🏼

It's a nice spot for a daily walk.
The local government has done a great job with the canal. The same goes in Bangkok. The canals seem to be getting a much needed facelift. I remember 10 years ago, the canals were essentially open sewers and heavily polluted. You would stay well clear of them. Now the canals look quite pleasant. It is good to see a growing environmental focus.
I agree, It's a great project and it looks so much better. It's a pleasant walk and i never smell anything (although it is still sewage) I think it's a nice area. Thanks.

Really like the way you express your plans with motorbike. I'd suggest you Aerox 155 to be your buddy for the next trip. Find one in good low mileage from a shop in CM. It'll be totally different event though you go the same route.

If anyone planning to go to Phrae avoid this hotel Huern Na Na Hotel. The room/toilet is dirty and eerie as well. Phuglong Hotel in Phayao is good

Hi Matthew, I probably would mate. Especially this time of year. Although you could find a place walking around, but you could lose half a day doing that. I would book for sure .

Wayne I went with my school to Tha Thon on the Myanmar border. Mae.kok river. It's lovely up there. Am making it to Chiang Mai this Dec 28-30 . If you in town DM me.

Try Wat Tha Thon and doi mae sa long. Former KMT village, post 1949 diaspora of Guomingdang army from SW China. Then loop back to Chiang rai via Mae Chan and Mae Sai. Spectacular road. After pai it will be a piece of cake.

Maybe look Phu Chi Fa , the most breathtakingly beautiful place in Thailand for sunrise .

Chiang Mai is still the best. No reason to leave, and so I don't. I just gotta find a place without roosters and aircraft flying overhead as they climb at full throttle and bank to the right over my house before heading downwind towards Bangkok.
