    We visited the White Temple 4 yrs ago and they were charging 100 baht then. Worth the entrance fee.

    We lived outside Chaing Rai for nearly two years and still own a house there. We found it too quite so we moved south and live on one of the island . But we are heading back up for a holiday in two weeks and feel excited after watching you videos. Thanks for showing CR and looking forward to the next episode .

    I really like the white temple, I go every time I come back to Thailand, it's always an impressive place. If you have time I recommend Wat Huay Pla Kang it's also huge as a temple to visit 👍🙂

      I been Pla Kang many times. Unfortunately I won't be going again on this trip. Cheers 👍

    I saw the White Temple about 7 years ago. It was something else for sure. The Gold Temple was not built then. I would love to go back and see the additions. Definitely worth the 100 baht. I would also like to see the Blue Temple. Thank you for showing this.

    Had a good chuckle at your bathroom humour, Wayne. I could write a book about hotel wash rooms or 'Hong Nam' in Thailand. It's all about water and more water, splashing everywhere including "over the bog"😅 I've had to adjust my brain so many times between Australia and Thailand. From a dry sunburnt land where we shove acres of toilet paper down our drains to the Lanna Kingdom where water and bum guns is supreme. As for the other attractions like the white and blue temple, both are extraordinary in their own way. Less crowds in the blue Wat and the best coconut ice cream on the planet 😋

    • @WalkAboutWayne
      @WalkAboutWayne  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The water in the bathroom does my nut in. Divider in the shower is the first thing I look at. Sadly this place didn't have one but it's a nice place.
      Yep, the temples are worth every penny mate. Chiang Mai Ruamchok coconut ice cream will take some beating 👍.
      Cheers mate

    Thanks for the weather update…we will be there in 28 days…I was in Bangkok last year at this time and I have been trying to explain to my woman that being in Thailand during the wet season is no big deal…we just learned that El Niño is a thing there too, especially the last couple of years. Cheers mate

    Inside the white temple, there are many museums of pictures and works of art, including in front of the temple, there will be a museum of the temple owner who created works of art, 10 million, 1 million baht or hundreds of thousands of baht per image for many people. can see

    Hotel room looked great, and for that price, it's a bargain! I'd happily pay twice the entry fee for the white temple. It's a lot more than a religious site and would take many staff to maintain it. Looking forward to black house! 🎉

    • @WalkAboutWayne
      @WalkAboutWayne  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, no complaints with the hotel or white temple really. Worth a visit whenever back in Chiang Rai. Black house coming soon. 👍

    was in chiang rai. visited white temple blue temple and black house. the black house would be an epppiccccc venue for an acoustic music festival........the white temple, plus the art exhibitions surrounding it are worth a full days exploration, definately. very cheap, mind blowing ... the blue temple is outstanding in its unusual colour choice...blue and gold,, creating an electric vibe to rival any temple in the land of smiles......theres a wee bar called the derry very close to the golden clock, i can highly recomend...your a legend wayne,,,stay safe out there

    the blue temple is very nice, haven't seen it myself yet, but i have to..something that is also nice to see is the chiang beer garden, mega big garden, something you have to see when you are in chiang rai...and The store is very nice at a really good price

    G'day Wayne,
    Love the white temple. The amount of money the artist has spent on that project is staggering. 100 baht is a bargain for entrance. I believe alot more work is planned.
    BTW You didn’t fool me for a second claiming feet are your fav chicken part... I know you’re an arsh man. 😅
    Take it easy man.

    Great work Wayne. You have presented both temples very well and provided some interesting information. Apparently there is also a 3rd temple, the black one however it is apparently a bit of a let down compared to the white and blue. It sounds from you mentioning the black house (to be continued) that may be where you are heading next. Re the market that is fabulous with so many choices of fresh fruit and vegetables available on a daily basis and so inexpensive overall. I could easily live in Chiang Rai for sure. Thanks for the video mate 🤩

      Cheers Steven mate, temples don't really float my boat anymore but Chiang Rai temples had to be done. They're a bit special. Yes mate, Black temple is Black house and I head to that one in the next vlog. Thanks man.

    • @WalkAboutWayne

    • @Jeff-cz3pj
      @Jeff-cz3pj ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WalkAboutWayne I just went on Reddit about safety wing , a lot of bad reviews , some people even saying it's a scam. On Reddit one person mentioned they always get insurance from a large well known company. Even though they are more expensive he just uses a large deductible like 10k to cover major expenses so his monthly fee is cheap. Seems like a good idea ...just thought I would throw that out there, don't want to see you not get coverage when you need it. Cheers

    i didn't regret visiting to tick them off the list, but they aren't places i would go back for a 2nd visit. the durability of the structures... look questionable up close, and don't inspire the same type of awe that the old temples littered all over chiang mai do.

    • @WalkAboutWayne
      @WalkAboutWayne  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would agree with that, the older temples are the best. I been to the white temple twice now, I dont think I'll go again. Thanks.
