I am speechless by the clarity of your explanation! The so called stalwarts of yoga and their channels with their innumerable videos on pranayam and yogasanas very conveniently manage to omit these details, I have been doing kapalbhati for many years and thankfully do it the right way given they match your recommendations like sitting on a pillow not going too fast using the lower abdomen. These techniques I discovered on my own while trying to be as comfortable as possible and eventually found that when done correctly it does calm the mind a great deal. There are times when I force myself to not overdo because the peace I feel in the head is almost intoxicating:) thanks for this lively post and I hope your subscribers increase manifold God bless!!

While you have explained the basics well, there is more for those who are experienced.
The benefit of pranayama, is in settling beyond the in and out of the breath. As that happens then the fluttering of the mind slows or stops, and a new kind of cosmic breath and radiance awakens into awareness, which underlies the breath.
As the fire breath is done at around twice per second, it creates a kind of bypass of the in and out rhythm of the breath and it stimulation of outer thoughts. After the head gets its cleansing, and the apanu is effortlessly locked into the lower centers, then the fire will not rise in the outer channels and cause imbalance. At that point you can do this breath for as long as you want, and it is quite blissfull. Of course diet, etc, is important, as is following with silent sitting.
It gives a glimpse or an intro into the feel8ng beyond breath, while very healing
I have had various times in my sadhana of doing this breath for about 45 min at a time every day for months with no problem. The first time of 3 monts there was a release from my head, but after that fine. Now I seldom do this pranayamq, as not necessary, and I have other pranaymas.
In short, one should not be afraid to do this practice for long periods, if that occurs as a natural progression of sadhana and there is no goal for it. If you get dizzy, even the slight bit, then keep time limited and learn to sink that aspect of your energy. Also right diet for the phase of your practice. Also for longer duration, you must follow with expanded practice and move the body like a walk during the day.
