How to fix & Clean Stuck Buttons on PS5 Controller (Take Apart Easy!)

- Do you want to know how to take apart and clean your stuck buttons on ps5 controller. To do this, you can remove the face plate and the R1 and L1 buttons. Then remove the battery and the ribbon cables on the board. Then you can flip the board over and then remove the 4 screws. This will allow you to gain access to the d pad and the triangle, O , X and triangle. Then you can clean them with rubbing alcohol. Also, you can clean the magnetic film with a q tip.

I took the little white housing off that connects the ribbon instead of siding the ribbon out and was impossible to put back on

Thanks for the video! Note that never revisions (the new revision has all silver screws) have two screws less, so you do not need to detach the board. Makes this even easier and a bit less error prone.

This video helped I noticed the flat rubber for the buttons wasn’t letting tho o get pressed so i took it off and rotated it and it worked thanks i also cleaned it like in the video

Cleaning contacts did not make my triangle work again, thanks for the guide, only snapped the set of pins on the bottom trying to remove the ribbon cable and subsequently had the other ends of ribbon cables fall out, used tweezers to get them back,
Upon reconstruction my controllers speaker was killed due to me snapping pins
The guide is good, I hate ribbon cables, and already bought a new controller thanks

Destroyed the side trying to take the back part off, have to get a new one over a sticky square button. The worst part is I just took an alcohol and a q tip after and it fixed the problem.

I thought my controller had terminal stick drift. Thanks to you I was able to operate and realized that it was in fact terminal.
Thanks for the guide, found some real dirty areas in need of cleaning. Unfortunately after removing the joysticks and cleaning everywhere with alcohol, pressurized air, and dry paper towels, I was sure I had fixed the issue. After reassembly I turn on my console and immediately hear the dreadful sound of navigating to the leftmost part of the menu in nanoseconds. The cleaning did nothing; thanks Sony for murdering my controller.
Take apart easy = breaking 1 latch, 1 microphone and detaching 1 speaker all by accident

What type of screwdriver did you use?
Never clean the flex ribbon cable with isopropanol. The flex ribbon cable contains graphite and you can polish it away this way!

i had a few buttons that were a little sticky becusee i splashed some mountain dew on my controller. But all i did and it’s fine now it take a que tip dip it in a little bit of water and swab around the bottom

Buttons are getting stuck in the first month! Old F510 controller could work for years in my hands without cleaning and disassembling
So the bottom tag thing snapped and now it's broken and it just would not go in the thing just kept bending
You didn't do the share and option buttons

Just spray contact cleaner into the buttons jod done, no need to take apart.

My x button has been sticky since the day I got my ps5
Same when I bought the NEW black remote at the time. My “O” was sticky
X, then square and yesterday was the O. I've came to conclusion that Sony totally screwed up this controller. I've had every system ever made n never once have I had a controller issue. Ps5 straight up poor

I tried cleaning with 99% rubbing alcohol as well as cleaning the D pad and it still gets stuck going left.
I'm not even pushing the button and the d pad is going left. Maybe that's just severe left stick drift I'm not entirely sure.

It isn't rly, you're right. Unless you're familiar with this kinda thing takes time, but if you can manage to do it, it'll save you a bunch of money. Just did mine. Took an hour or so, but got er done.
