I actually like seeing the whole process of the build-up for the giveaways! I would keep doing it this way. I hope I win this is going to be freaking awesome.
Old disels have wastegates, modern diesel engines do not have wastegates, they use VTG turbos, that can manipulate the way gases go to the turbine whell, and make it spool soon and when you it the desired boost it changes and keep the boost presure stable.
@@differentbydesign7603 compressor surge is because it use so much boost that when you lift pedal rpm drop and boost surge on compressor, nothing to do with wastegates lol
@@fabini14 That’s a different type of compressor surge. On throttle surge like he’s talking about is caused by the turbo trying to flow more air than the engine or the piping can handle.
@@Thechildishmandingo LOL, he never said on throttle surge, and the turbo always flow more than what engine can handle, that is the only way you can create boost pressure.

B series have 2 coolant sensors. 1 for the dash and one for the computer. They're both on the water neck. One is a round connector (for the computer) and one is a bullet type connector (for the dash.)
I think on a b16 it’s on the head under vtec solenoid. but you are correct!! Only reason I’m here is to say the same thing. The one on the thermostat housing is just for the fans. Also older b16 intake Manifold’s have the intake temp sensor on the intake runner and it bolts on. Skunk2 manifolds has the same thing
Probably nothing wrong with the ECU, hook up the ECU engine coolant temperature sensor and the a/f ratio should correct itself and put out the engine light.
Exactly what I was going to say. Your CTS being bad/ not wired/ not reading the correct value will make the car go rich as well. Fix the CTS issue and it won't run as rich.
D-works is awesome great products and customer service and knowledgeable techs. I used to deliver to them here in Oklahoma when I worked for fed ex! The CFO CEO are super humble and approachable.
Car looks great you gentleman have some real talent and know how! I hope you and your family are adjusting well to a second little one. It has taken us a while to get a rythym. Congratulations again

Coolant temp sensor is under the distributor (2 wires) the other single wire sensor goes to the gauge.. coolant temp sensor can have it running rich or lean
I like the whole give away process.it can give you hope even if it's just for a little while.i like to see how happy the winner is and I l to see how happy it makes you to give it away and make some happy.i really enjoy your content and the hard work you put into the channel.iv learn a lot from watching your channel.
This was a great video! I’m planning to turbo my GSR in the near future so this was great to watch as the process will literally be the same. Also if you get a DW fuel pump on your site for a 2001 Integra GSR (probably the same exact one you just put in the Civic) I will buy it! I was already planning on buying one, so may as well get some entries and help support your channel too! Also, is it possible that the car is running rich as a protection because of the CEL? Also, if the tachometer isn’t working (looked like it wasn’t in the video of you driving) you may have to run a wire from the blue wire on the distributor to the blue wire by the drivers side strut tower. I had to do that on my car because of using a jumper harness for OBD2 to OBD1.
Good vid Trevor, I liked the format of how you guys filmed and documented the build. Car looks great, i sorta wish more honda guys would adopt this style of build and create clean full bumper street cars like this one.
Lots of good info here! Great video. You can always put the fan on the front of the radiator works just as good if not better because then it sucks the hot air out
If you are still worried about the oil pan drain fitting coming loose, simply drill through the nut and fitting than use a piece of safety wire through the drilled hole.
Literally no one around here builds anything remotely like this! No Honda’s, no imports at all really 🤷♂️ would be pretty sweet for me and the kid to have some fun with this thing and hurt some old guys in challengers feelings from time to time 😂 then maybe one day build the bottom end and go wild 😜 regardless of who wins it Trevor your builds are some of the cleanest on TH-cam and the new owner should be proud!!
Excellent run through! Thank you for going through each piece and explaining what they are used for. There are a lot of guys that assume everyone knows what each part is for, and this is very helpful. Thanks for that!!
It’s just not practical. Exhaust shop tube benders actually crush the inside radius of the tube. Tubing/pipe benders do it even worse with large diameter/thin wall tubing. To do it right would need what’s called a mandrel bender which can cost tens of thousands of dollars. ...and no mandrel bender die set has as tight of a radius as the bend coming out of the turbo so short sections would be required regardless.
I always like the videos of the giveaway builds. Then the people can see what they are getting and the process of how it got there. That's if they actually watch tough.
Nice work-I think you have a couple things to look into before calling it ecu. 1 make sure what you are feeding the ecu for o2 signal is correct does it need the narrowband sim signal or wide band and of course the wt sensor.. pop quiz what happens on a Honda if your wt fails open (or is unplugged /gasp)... “wt sensor not coolant temp sender” GL @the dyno today maybe you figured it out or caught my comment early enough.
