Can you guys adopt me? Like a brother or cousin I want to live in that workshop and do amazing art with you I have 2 years experience in knife making and as bonus I'm Italian I can cook too.. Oh and a barista so i got your coffe sorted! 😂😂 Great job as usual
Very well said. I truly believe that this gentleman needs to have his own channel. To be honest, I like Jeff’s videos better than Kyle’s. Sure Kyle’s knives are amazing, and are incredible “Art” knives, and while Jeff’s knives are of a high level, they are still knives that one could use on a daily basis. Knives are to be used, not put away in some drawer.
I was so engrossed watching you work that billet I actually forgot you were going to make a knife out of it! What craftsmanship. What quality materials. The highlight of your production is your explaining each step. Most knife videos I've seen are basically silent projects. Thank You!
One of the most beautiful knives I have ever seen made. The artistry involved in your design and the choice of wood species for the handle are truly worthy of museum display. Mahalo nui loa from Hawai’i for your video!
I have to say that in addition to the masterpiece knives the camera work and editing are top notch. The quality, close ups, and time lapse really make for a great watching experience. Well done 🍻
Every time I watch you make a knife I think that’s the one I want…then you make a new video. I love knives that will be used and look beautiful. One of these days. Great job Jeff.
Yeah this family really looks like they were born into the lap of luxury. Open garage. Having to complete the finish process for their knives in the kitchen sink. That's how true craftsmanship comes about. Just born rich with no skills, planning or sacrifice, obviously.
Holy cow. I've seen some gorgeous knives made on youtube but this by far takes the cake... You are methodical and meticulous and your work is seriously beautiful.
Hey thanks. He is over the moon with it and he is referring me to his people. I told him we were posting it. He loves the vid also. Keep Forging On my friend. Dad
over the years i've watched several knife builds, many demascus, many top japanese knife makers, and i have to say, yours are twenty times better. worth every penny. i would love this knife.
When the photo and video popped up on the feed the other day I knew immediately that it was a "Dad Royer" knife" and made sure to wait until tonight to watch. Saturday night with a glass of good bourbon and a homemade Chocolate chip cookie & a new "Dad Royer" video. Only thing that would have made it better would have been if my granddaughter was here to watch with me.
I am amazed at this video. The whole process was fascinating. I cannot believe the technicality and precision that goes into smithing. Your finished knife was beautiful and your client must have been more than pleased!
This video was my 1st time to see such beautiful workmanship that goes into details of the Damascus design, it's outstanding more sophisticated then the TV Show Forged in Fire. I loved it. Many, many thanks.
I've watched a lot of videos of people making swords or knives and I have to say you guys are the best. You guys are meticulous and your style is my fav.
LOVE this video! Actually have it on in the background because it's so relaxing, but keep starting it over because I keep zoning out and really want to see the finished product!
Very nice to watch you work like that, a great understanding of the forge and the steel you have buddy. I imagine the recipient of that knife was more than pleased. Winning!!!
Beautiful! All the work you put into this...Makes you wonder and appreciate the old world ways that our ancestors made knives. Imagine making a knife like this one 300 years ago. Absolutely beautiful. Loved this video. I couldn't stop watching it.
Great video, thoroughly enjoyed it, and an outstanding knife at the end, couldn''t wish for better! Hey Dad, I think you''re giving Kyle a run for his money these days, your skills are up there with the best of them now. Both the pattern in the blade and the handle material are stunning, anyone would be proud to own that knife !! Regards from Down Under.
Wow! That is a beautiful, intricate knife. Certainly shows the patience required, the knowledge, tools, and smithing needed…. Not to mention the band aide around the bloody finger.
@@KyleRoyerKnives Oh no. Thank you. This Knife is stunning and it was amazing to watch the process of it being made. Pure work of art. I wish I could afford one hunting knife like this to gift it to my father, he would love it. Maybe one day :)
Have you tried using a cup grinding stone in your grinder to remove the scale? I have found that a 24 grit stone makes quick work of it. The stones last so much longer that they are much cheaper in the long run compared to regular grinding wheels.
*Actually the creation of a drawing on a good steel requires many hours of work and more importantly experience to achieve this work of art. Congratulations*
Just wow! Been watching knife makers on YT for a while now and you have bested Shurap and Tyrell as my new favorite. Impeccable craftsmanship, practices and a tasteful makers mark. Great voice, perfect background music and a stunning product. Instant subscribe. Can’t wait to catch up.
A.W.S.O.M.E!!!!!! As a German I am proud of your work and wish I had the money (and you the resources) to buy 10 knives from you. One for me, one for my dad and my mother-in-law and the other knives I would auction for children and mothers who had to flee the war in Ukraine.
OMG crazy good job !!! Amazing knife First time i agree with : this knife DESERVE a EXPENSIVE Price ! Big Job and Amazing RESULT !!! Bravo and i see you personalize lot tools for became to this result 🙂 Bravo again from France ! Lotfi
a contrast unlike anyother..MEANING the symmetry.. in a cooking show the chef explains the detail/technique and why. Here you are going into detail unlike anyother in seeing how and why you use special technique/material. WONDERFUL skill. Curious what the first meal that was prepared with the knife. excellent video and craftsmanship
I have a collection of patterned forged kitchen knives. They are functional as well as beautiful to look at. It is interesting to watch how such a blades is forged. The knowledge of the forging and tempering are one thing but the ability to repeat as much as is possible the blades pattern just amazes me.
DUDE! I loved the calm, cool narrative. That knife is gorgeous! Honestly, it's not my style, but man, you perfectly combine two things that are rarely found together - precision machining and forging, with unique and stunning artistry. You've got my subscription, man! Well done!

A master isn't afraid to share their methods. Fascinating!
The true secret is in how those billets get oriented. Those patterns are 1 major component of the blades value.
I've never watched a knife build like this. A true treasure. Excellent.
I admire your patience.
Amazing work by your son teaching you to do the same amazing level of forging and him
