I don't think 50mins have passed by so quickly when watching a build video.
As a non maker the balance between stages, detail and progress flower seamlessly.
Another Master piece from a Master maker.
The gold plated take down tool was one of those happy accidents that perhaps worked with the piece better than the original idea.
    Thanks for sharing the journey

and another note i would like to add.... i admire how you are willing to start completely over on anything that didnt come out "right". As oppose to being like "Well it ALMOST fits....maybe after i add a shim and some filler it will fit better"
lol no sir if it doesnt fit, in your mind the only option is to completely redue it so it fits how its meant to fit. That takes patience. especially once you consider the amount of hours it takes to do each step.
sorry for the long comments, im just very impressed (and in love i think) with this knife. im obviously a knife enthusiast as well with a very large collection and a very amateur beginner knife maker as well. and with all the knives ive seen and all the books and articles ive read on knife crafting, it really takes alot to impress me with a knife (not to sound arrogant, but once you seen them all theres seldom anything "new". so.....good job, good work, and good shit.

    First off awesome work!
That said, some tips and information from a Mechanical Engineer:
    1. Heat treating is quite easy, and a 1hour read will teach you everything there is to know about annealing, tempering, heat treating and quenching. Its not rocket science.
    2. You should look into case-hardening and induction heat treating. Case hardening is very useful and if your weapons were ever put to hard use, it would serve as your best option. It is a process that hardens the outside material while leaving the inside ductile.
    3. When tapping threads on your tangs, you should back out every 1/2 to full turn. You need to allow the tapping bit to expel the machined metal. Keep the bit highly lubricated and take your time threading and then backing out, and your bits will last a lot longer. Not to mention, the threads will be cleaner with a better cut and finish.
Great work again! Your work is very beautiful

I have loved your channel for years. Your work is pure art. One of the great things about your videos is that it's just you talking and the sounds of the work. If someone told you to add the music in the background you were poorly counseled. It takes away from the intimacy of the feeling we get of being in your shop with you. Having said that, I couldn't weld 2 nails together. Love your page regardless.

Another masterpiece! If you want to try another tool for those lines without relying on a rotating knife, look into "gunpla panel line chisels". Mecha model kit builders sometimes customize it by adding panel lines. But they are very small square tip chisels meant to be dragged along the material to slowly create a groove. Granted those tools are designed for styrene or resin so I am not sure how it would behave in carbon fiber. But they arent expensive tools if you wanted to experiment.

40:42 . I have seen a bunch of knife makers on TH-cam and they would sometimes do something that bothers the heck out of me . While sharpening a knife they would just hang it out in their workspace with the blade facing out , even an unsharpened blade unsafe and can hurt a person , but you placed yours on something under the blade facing towards you which i commend you for .

You can use bees wax rolled into a triangle/point shape to hold your stones as you place them in your setting. Also if you use a 1-1/2” wood dowel you can also use shellac to hold your stone mount. Denatured alcohol will release it from the shellac.
The round brilliant cut shape, the point is called a culet and can be polished or unpolished. The flat part of the diamond is called a table and that is where you can stick the bees wax too in order to move it into position.

18:40: although a fingerprint of the knifemaker might also be a cool feature. Imagine having the fingerprint of Masamune, the medieval japanese swordsmith on one of his swords.
28:50: Would it have saved time (and risk of destroying something) to not dovetail the channels for the gold inlay all the way but just make a carving/dovetail every 1 centimeter or so? Also, would sanding the sides on the surface edge of the carvings for the gold inlays have gotten the lines even straighter? The lines are a tiny bit frayed. Sorry, don't want to ask stupid or brazen questions. This is such a beautiful knife. Thank you for sharing this process. Absolutely impressive.

I follow your Chanel for a very long time and you are a mad scientist that creates top and absolute best knives that I don’t think anyone can duplicate as perfect as you do. I think you must be OCD because I am and I hate anything that is not perfectly in order, placed, built, arranged…. I simply love all your work😊

Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing this. When I was 15 (I'm now 60) I made my own hunting knife in my dad's wood/metal shop in the basement, though no comparison, it was from a kit and I certainly didn't forge my own blade nor fabricate the pommel, bolster or guard, but I did quite a bit of shaping and finishing on it. Your skill and craftsmanship are exemplary. I have one question: I don't own any custom knives but I have a few mass produced knives that I would consider lower end of mid-range ($300) but I've been impressed with the balance of the overall knife, right where my index finger addresses the handle, so I was wondering how much thought do you put into that when designing/building a knife? You didn't mention it. Again, thanks for the video and wish I could afford something like that. 😒

Car painter here…. Your bubbles are solvent trapping. You applied your coat of clear to early, you need to let the solvent exhaust before recoating… the bubbles are the solvent from the previous coat trying to escape

That handle is absolutely stunning work even standalone such a skilful and pretty solution it’s almost like a modern take on art deco harkening back to the 1920’s/30’s

Beautiful work! I just wish you didn't remove moments from the assembly at the end. Was looking forward to hearing the satisfying sounds as the pieces slid into place 🥲

Iff Rembrandt was a knife maker, this was one of his masterpieces! Lots of respect from Holland! 👏👏👏✊
