Berwick has a history of being geographically confused, to the extent that treaties between England and Scotland would quite often say "England, Scotland and Berwick." In fact in the 80s the council of Berwick noticed that they were technically still at war with the Soviet Union as Berwick had been named in the Declaration of War but not in the peace treaty.
Licht is the same as the German word because the Scots language evolved differently than English. Both languages stem from Old English, a Germanic language spoken by the Anglo Saxons. Though, when the Normans successfully invaded England in 1066 they brought their dialect of French with them. This heavily influenced English pronunciation and vocabulary down South but much less so in Scotland. So Scots is a lot closer to its Germanic roots than English. Scotland also had lots of merchants from the Low Countries (modern day Belgium, Netherlands),who spoke an old form of Dutch who influenced and helped spread the Scots language through the Burgh system (trading towns). An example of their influence is possibly in the Scots word 'hoose' is pronounced exactly like the Dutch word 'huis'. While the English and German words 'house' and 'Haus' are pronounced the same.
This is the explanation we should all have been given at school, instead of being made to feel like we just spoke English wrong. I was in my 30s before I learned what you've described really well. We still do it, looking down on those among us who are speaking a more authentic language.
@gordon1545 We can't be seen to be speaking our guttural, native tongue now, can we? Much better if we speak the tongue of our colonial masters. Scots English should absolutely be recognised as an official dialect of English and not treated like "slang".

Loved both of these videos and going to check out your others. For Stenhousemuir, I presume it's due to the proximity to Bannockburn where Scotland's greatest battle victory took place.

It’s such a complex game even with its tutorials I think you almost need an experienced player to give you pointers about a lot of things. A few easy tips I’d give is that your tactics don’t have to have to select a choice in every option my tactics are really simple. I have taken Septemvri Sofia from the second tier of Bulgaria to the latter stages one the champions league. My other tip is manage dynamics if it gets low praise everything you can at every opportunity if you still can’t pick it up arrange a friendly with a local opponent and score about 12 goals to pick it up.
Great video and don’t worry about getting some facts wrong we’re not robots and sometimes research leads you down false paths with as we say in Scotland ‘people talking shite!’ 😂
Was not expecting to see my club, Linlithgow Rose, here!
