Portugal really is a forgotten dictatorship. Wonder if they'd have become a football powerhouse before the 21st century (excluding 1966 golden golden generation) if they became democratic sooner.
If the British had not sent an ultimatum allowing Angola to connect with Mozambique, the monarchy would never have been overthrown, thus allowing Portugal to remain a democracy
