RPR asking Niji EN about Selen's radio silence has... a certain energy. An energy not entirely dissimilar to the energy of Sweden asking the USSR embarrassing questions about unusually high cesium levels.
It also proves that she's not allowed to discuss her absence with her friends outside of Nijisanji, and the fact that her music video still hasn't been published, is absolute confirmation that she's been stealth suspended. If she were just taking a normal break for her health, and was able to tweet on her alt account, I see no reason why she wouldn't be able to tweet on her main account, continue to tweet on her alt, or talk to friends, or do short chatting streams or something. The complete radio silence to not just her audience, but friends, and her alt account too? Yeah, not normal.
Last I checked she hadn't even updated her alt twitter since around the 9th. It'd be one thing if she'd announced some kind of "indefinite hiatus" like Haachama or Maimoto, but the radio silence definitely feels a bit off. RPR based though.

I have a feeling that Selen will announce her graduation when she comes back one reason Nijisanji is extending her suspension in order to keep her hostage. This prevents her from making any moves but just a matter of time before she appears and announce her graduation.
You do know that they can't "hold her hostage", right? She can get the contract terminated without having to announce a graduation. Graduations are just a made up thing which sounds better than "was fired" or "left the company" or "terminated the contract" to begin with. If she wants to leave she can talk to her/a lawyer and get out probably fairly easily since she isn't so dumb as to sign a contract which prevents her from leaving (hopefully).

Except this situation is extremely suspicious even as a third party who never really followed Selen. Even when Gura took her hiatus, she was still involved in the background with her collabing with Marine and appearing in multiple EN collabs and even taking part in the Hololive sports festival, she had even been to Japan multiple times to work with Cover Corp on different projects. Even though Gura wasn't streaming, it was made well apparent that she was still there, Selen quite literally disappeared without any trace or any indication on how she is doing. The whole "accident" thing is even more concerning especially the specifics where she stated that she couldn't have her phone while she was recovering which is unusual for a simple accident and that she was staying with her parents for the time being until she was better. The whole accident announcement plus the fact that she recently lost a lot of money to a project that Nijisanji immediately shut down and the fact that she wasn't even able to say goodbye to Pomu is concerning not just for her status as a Vtuber but for her well-being, like is she even alright? Like mentally, how is she doing?
Gura was out for like a year? If I am not mistaken. And Selen was out for a couple of months and people are crazy. These mfs need some chill pill. Selen is a grown ass woman and she doesn't need to be cared for like a 5 year old. It seemed like a lot of support was pulled from upper management at the time, and then the rest of management in EN did not get enough resources, so they began to constantly drop the ball afterwards. For example: XSOLEIL was a complete PR disaster that was under-managed and had bad marketing (plus arguably poor talent selection), and then Krisis basically had zero marketing and was obviously full of internal issues pre-debut. If none of the other problems happened Yugo being terminated wouldn't have made such a big impact. it felt way more dramatic because it was an obvious symbol of NijiEN's apparent instability. AnyColor didn't really understand the culture that NijiEN had built up to that point, and they didn't understand that the shotgun approach of Nijisanji debuting as many talents as possible was just not going to work in the English-speaking market. Niji expanded too quickly and didn't properly take care of their talents.

Obviously you also don't get your phone while in surgery, but that doesn't really apply here. But either it works very differently (which is possible) or she has something else going on besides the accident.
With all these people trying to create drama, I doubt she gets the rest that she needs. I will not be surprised she would quit and unlike what others think of her going to vshojo, I think and hope she just find a normal irl job like a office clerk or something away from everything and everyone. If the Cover Song wasn’t bad enough, it’s royally infuriating they also robbed her of 2 high profile collabs (Fillian, Nerissa/Zen/Reimu), a major convention appearance (Anime Impulse) and the opportunity to say goodbye to one of her closest friends in the business (Pomu) because of this mess. I’m still holding on to hope that there’s some possible recovery and reconciliation but there’s no way around it, they did Selen DIRTY in all this, perm nitpicking or not. I forgot which steamer, but it was a recent graduation from the jp branch they talked about. I just listened to the conversation with a few people who can speak japanese. A recurring problem seems to be management. The ID and KR branch also had management problems, so it makes sense that the JP side doesn't look too good as well.

Based on her debut date, most likely at the end of June, but the details are confidential so we don't know for sure. At this point I would be shocked if she renewed it with how they've treated her like shit for the past year.

In my opinion, if a graduation does happen, there's only one way to find out if she left on her own or not. Her VOD's. If she does decide to leave on her own, I assume they would stay up, since Selen takes pride in her work and wouldn't want it to just be privated after years of hard dedication. If they are made private/are deleted, however, I think we could be certain that in that case, it was a termination. We've all seen what Niji does with talents who are terminated, and that is basically erasing any kind of proof that they ever existed. Especially since nobody of her fellow livers has even talked a word about her. I didn't know if I should say this but its been on my mind for days now and could actually be a possibility. But let's hope for the best and pray Selen is healthy and keeps recovering well.😕💜

Technically, I don't think what they are doing is illegal in an explicit sense. However, the way they handle their talent is indicative of a very bad company. If they treat them how it seems like, then they are all "at will contractors" that have signed away their ability to do anything outside of Anycolor while the contract is in place. This kind of contract is dangerous to the worker, as there is no minimum compensation guarantee, so if the company decides that you should not work, then you can't, effectively cutting off your main income source. It's just one of the kinds of contracts that are possible as a freelancer (which is what you are considered). It's effectively a "trust me bro" when it comes to your ability to work, and Anycolor seems to be showing exactly how little they deserve any trust at all. (This is assuming the way they handle contracts is that way, I cannot say for certain, nor do I make any concrete claims, this is pure speculation as an educated guess)

She had her rent paid off via her old social medias (I'm counting funding pages too, anything with her old username on it) and then those pages mysteriously disappeared (hint hint). Your employer can't punish you for/deny you from working another job for the exact same reasons. Just because you signed a piece of paper doesn't mean the paper is actually legally enforceable.... and nothing is stopping the company from acting outside the terms outlined on the signed paper (aka lying about the mistreatment being part of policy) and just hand-waving "you signed the contact no takebacksies"..... This is literally how employment lawyers have jobs, btw. I know corporate bs is happening behind the scenes, Anycolor has a history of doing this to multiple livers/branches.

If they wanted to fire her, they would've done so already without remorse like they did with Yugo and Zaion. She's one of their top female streamers, there's no way they're gonna let her go that easy. Though they can't stay quiet forever, the longer this goes the worse it looks. Dude depending on how bad it was it does not take this long to recover from a ER visit. AT most it takes a week if your job involves a lot of physically demanding stuff and you just got out of a major surgery which Niji does not

i know this might sound crazy, but I had a dream weeks ago in which I was watching a video about selen graduating. I can't remember if it was her decision or if it was a termination. I don't really follow her or niji so I found it weird I had a dream where she was mentioned...but stuff like this has happened to me before and they've ended up happening. Hopefully she is ok and happy.
With what I’ve seen from her past life account, she said that she got discharged from the hospital and is currently at home with her parents who are helping her. I’ve heard some people say she’s playing games with her friends, but I don’t know. After what she’s posted it’s safe to assume(at least for me) that’s she’s taking time away from social media to get her health in check. Which is good especially after what Nijisanji did to her for the past couple years. I can think of two best case and worst case scenarios. 1. She’s okay and is taking time away to heal herself and will come back when she’s ready. Maybe she can talk about why she was gone for so long, or she’ll act like nothing ever happened. 2. She’ll come back to say she’s graduating and we’ll get a couple more streams or at least one more before saying goodbye. At least she’ll finally be free and can move on to another company or go inside. 3. Nijisanji will come up with an absolute bullshit reason and terminate her and make it where it’s not their fault to lower the backlash. 4. (Extremely highly unlikely but would be an absolute nightmare) She’s missing irl or is in a “condition”. I don’t believe this last reason at all, but it’s something I think about whenever someone I watch on TH-cam hasn’t posted for months or years without an explanation.

Except this situation is extremely suspicious even as a third party who never really followed Selen. Even when Gura took her hiatus, she was still involved in the background with her collabing with Marine and appearing in multiple EN collabs and even taking part in the Hololive sports festival, she had even been to Japan multiple times to work with Cover Corp on different projects. Even though Gura wasn't streaming, it was made well apparent that she was still there, Selen quite literally disappeared without any trace or any indication on how she is doing. The whole "accident" thing is even more concerning especially the specifics where she stated that she couldn't have her phone while she was recovering which is unusual for a simple accident and that she was staying with her parents for the time being until she was better. The whole accident announcement plus the fact that she recently lost a lot of money to a project that Nijisanji immediately shut down and the fact that she wasn't even able to say goodbye to Pomu is concerning not just for her status as a Vtuber but for her well-being, like is she even alright? Like mentally, how is she doing?

It seemed like a lot of support was pulled from upper management at the time, and then the rest of management in EN did not get enough resources, so they began to constantly drop the ball afterwards. For example: XSOLEIL was a complete PR disaster that was under-managed and had bad marketing (plus arguably poor talent selection), and then Krisis basically had zero marketing and was obviously full of internal issues pre-debut. If none of the other problems happened Yugo being terminated wouldn't have made such a big impact. it felt way more dramatic because it was an obvious symbol of NijiEN's apparent instability.
AnyColor didn't really understand the culture that NijiEN had built up to that point, and they didn't understand that the shotgun approach of Nijisanji debuting as many talents as possible was just not going to work in the English-speaking market. Niji expanded too quickly and didn't properly take care of their talents.

My fear is Selen has potentially already been terminated but they’re delaying the announcement because they know there will be hell to pay and because they don’t want any more fresh heat after just losing Mika, Pomu, and Chihiro.
Anyone who knows Selen knows she’d never be dead silent for this long unless she were gagged. If the Cover Song wasn’t bad enough, it’s royally infuriating they also robbed her of 2 high profile collabs (Fillian, Nerissa/Zen/Reimu), a major convention appearance (Anime Impulse) and the opportunity to say goodbye to one of her closest friends in the business (Pomu) because of this mess.
I’m still holding on to hope that there’s some possible recovery and reconciliation but there’s no way around it, they did Selen DIRTY in all this, perm nitpicking or not. If she leaves I hope they at least give her the courtesy of letting her keep the channel and identity she built up herself with her own money and hard work these past 2 years, but I’d only expect that from a company that values their talents 🙄

I forgot which steamer, but it was a recent graduation from the jp branch they talked about. I just listened to the conversation with a few people who can speak japanese.
A recurring problem seems to be management. The ID and KR branch also had management problems, so it makes sense that the JP side doesn't look too good as well.
I agree with them: we need answers. She's completely absent on her main account (at least we had some news with her other account) and wasn't even present for Pomu's grad....

Based on her debut date, most likely at the end of June, but the details are confidential so we don't know for sure. At this point I would be shocked if she renewed it with how they've treated her like shit for the past year.

In my opinion, if a graduation does happen, there's only one way to find out if she left on her own or not. Her VOD's. If she does decide to leave on her own, I assume they would stay up, since Selen takes pride in her work and wouldn't want it to just be privated after years of hard dedication.
If they are made private/are deleted, however, I think we could be certain that in that case, it was a termination. We've all seen what Niji does with talents who are terminated, and that is basically erasing any kind of proof that they ever existed. Especially since nobody of her fellow livers has even talked a word about her.
I didn't know if I should say this but its been on my mind for days now and could actually be a possibility. But let's hope for the best and pray Selen is healthy and keeps recovering well.😕💜

Knowing Niji this could br a possibility, but seeing as other graduated members left their content up which isn't making money either, it's a 50/50 chance. But let's hope for Selen to recover fully first.
They're 1000% not giving her work, preventing her other sources of income (which isn't legal but most people don't know you can fight it with your labor regulators/lawyer), and keeping her silent so they can drain as much of her savings as possible. This is exactly how most shady companies bully people out of their jobs. This is what (rich bald guy's bookstore) did to me. She's been broke enough to beg for rent money on her previous socials. Black company doing black company things. If she doesn't hold out: they don't have to draft up a bs termination letter full of "offenses" that they literally never enforce unless it's convenient for them to do so (Ziaon) and just say she graduated suddenly.... if she does hold out: we'll get that bs letter that probably has absolutely loaded accusations like "drug use on stream".

Technically, I don't think what they are doing is illegal in an explicit sense. However, the way they handle their talent is indicative of a very bad company. If they treat them how it seems like, then they are all "at will contractors" that have signed away their ability to do anything outside of Anycolor while the contract is in place. This kind of contract is dangerous to the worker, as there is no minimum compensation guarantee, so if the company decides that you should not work, then you can't, effectively cutting off your main income source. It's just one of the kinds of contracts that are possible as a freelancer (which is what you are considered). It's effectively a "trust me bro" when it comes to your ability to work, and Anycolor seems to be showing exactly how little they deserve any trust at all. (This is assuming the way they handle contracts is that way, I cannot say for certain, nor do I make any concrete claims, this is pure speculation as an educated guess)

Your employer can't punish you for/deny you from working another job for the exact same reasons.
Just because you signed a piece of paper doesn't mean the paper is actually legally enforceable.... and nothing is stopping the company from acting outside the terms outlined on the signed paper (aka lying about the mistreatment being part of policy) and just hand-waving "you signed the contact no takebacksies"..... This is literally how employment lawyers have jobs, btw. I know corporate bs is happening behind the scenes, Anycolor has a history of doing this to multiple livers/branches.

The only reason not to say anything is that she wants to graduate but they're trying to renegotiate with her and she's not having it. So instead they're keeping her from streaming. If they wanted to fire her, they would've done so already without remorse like they did with Yugo and Zaion. She's one of their top female streamers, there's no way they're gonna let her go that easy. Though they can't stay quiet forever, the longer this goes the worse it looks. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we never hear from her again as Selen (i.e. she quits, no discussion no graduation) and she pops up as an indie/CC somewhere else. i know this might sound crazy, but I had a dream weeks ago in which I was watching a video about selen graduating. I can't remember if it was her decision or if it was a termination. I don't really follow her or niji so I found it weird I had a dream where she was mentioned...but stuff like this has happened to me before and they've ended up happening. With what I’ve seen from her past life account, she said that she got discharged from the hospital and is currently at home with her parents who are helping her. I’ve heard some people say she’s playing games with her friends, but I don’t know. After what she’s posted it’s safe to assume(at least for me) that’s she’s taking time away from social media to get her health in check. Which is good especially after what Nijisanji did to her for the past couple years.
I can think of two best case and worst case scenarios.
1. She’s okay and is taking time away to heal herself and will come back when she’s ready. Maybe she can talk about why she was gone for so long, or she’ll act like nothing ever happened.
2. She’ll come back to say she’s graduating and we’ll get a couple more streams or at least one more before saying goodbye. At least she’ll finally be free and can move on to another company or go inside.
3. Nijisanji will come up with an absolute bullshit reason and terminate her and make it where it’s not their fault to lower the backlash.
4. (Extremely highly unlikely but would be an absolute nightmare) She’s missing irl or is in a “condition”. I don’t believe this last reason at all, but it’s something I think about whenever someone I watch on TH-cam hasn’t posted for months or years without an explanation.
I hope Selen is OK, if/when she graduates I'm certain she'll have no trouble moving on to bigger/better things.
